  1. Thanks for all the help with the question and more. And I've heard avoid this and avoid that but...I don't like missing out on something just cause of some mechanic that hinders a character. That and I actually play through the campaign. Though that's getting some what boring and I may go into gold just doing free world or something.
  2. Oh ok. I guess the times I was using the Blowgun and it missed the target were just cause I didn't have enough atk. Cause I did have a time where the blowpipe didn't strike the target once as he crossed by in front of me. And so far the Dryad isn't bad. I'm a bit cautious to pick up the second buff Bark cause of the stupid Fire weakness to it. I've countered not having that buff by taking 5 points in Combat Reflexes and am aiming for Armor Lore and just using the heal which is really nice to have. But right now she's like....16 I think (Side quests are nice...but annoying to find again once you finish sometimes.) and she is sporting EP, CR, Barg, Ranged, Tactics
  3. Ok so I've somewhat settled on a dryad once more cause it's just too annoying in this game to go chasing after the ranged base mobs when fighting. (Being on Console I don't have access to the staff trick, and I don't like using exploits so not using VD) But I gotta ask, why use a blowpipe really? Is it any better than say a bow (My preference anyway is a bow.)?
  4. I have to agree here. The thing is that it is easy to fix bugs and glitches on a computer game than it is on console. The Console's program for the game is contained all on that disk, there isn't really a transfer over. While on a PC the files on the disk are transfered and it runs off those more than the CD.
  5. I've heard of the bug with that armor which was why I probably would stay away from the full set....though I'd get it either way to get the full set achievement and then remove it before playing.
  6. The "big deal" about the Blacksmith skill is that, in the PC version, it lets you socket rings into bronze slots and necklaces into silver slots. This is huge, and I can't emphasize that enough. Unfortunately, as you're a console player, that doesn't help you, but I wanted to make sure this was clear. It's cool. On console that function is given to players no matter what general skill they pick so it's not a big deal to a lot of them.
  7. The placement of your console and it heating up is usually a key to this kind of stuff. If you have it in a closed area it might not be getting enough O2 so it's hardware is over heating. This is a problem with consoles that has become more and more previlant as they become more advanced. Some of the companies aren't taking internal temperatures into account when they make them and they end up over heating. Sony Playstation is notorious for it at this point as many have had the problem with every thing from the original PS to the PS3. Xbox had a similar issues but it can be rectified by keeping the power box and console off fabric surfaces. And if you think that is laggy, try the Dryad exploit with VD and wait for lots of stuff to die at once. I had the console freeze for a second as he tried to register the amount of experience coming in.
  8. Lots of good feed back which I love to see on forums. And I do have one character that has either EP or Barg. My 45 seraphim has EP not that high though but it does go above character level with gear and relics. And then there is my level 20 or so Inquisitor who picked up bargaining from day one of him. With the Inquisitor I don't really sacrifice much to pick it up. Got my damage skills, He mostly uses Callous Execution and the GI skills. The most I can see that I gave up on for it for him was a CA lore but I don't really use the other skills outside of defense or utility. The thing is my seraphim seems like she is giving up a rather large piece of her to pick up EP because right now she can only pick up two more skills and I'd like to get Warding Energy Lore for my shield and maybe the lore for rev tech, again for the shield cause I picked up block at the end. My other issue outside of it taking up a skill is the fact that items don't seem to scale in my favor. I've got tons of 3 star items and sets...all ranging from the 40-60 level range...which makes me feel like it was wasted. Same with Inquis with Bargaining. As he levels so does the gear that he buys and again, low level toons won't be able to use them. past that not much of an issue. As a side note though, everyone says that you can't use BS on console which I don't intend to test. But I don't see a point in getting it anyway as I can already socket rings and amulets into gear at the black smith. Just gotta match them to their corresponding colors. Bronze slot only takes BS enhances and Runes, Silver takes the same a bronze plus rings, and gold takes same as silver plus amulets.
  9. Alright so I've got a few toons, one of them is my seraphim who sits nicely at like level 45 or so and she does well. Well as I look to other characters I like to think how I can build them, and how I could build them so that someone who just got the game can pick them up with little hassle and play through before they decide if they wanna dive into the game fully. The thing is I'm wondering the importance of Bargaining and Enhanced Perception and all the other general skills in the game. With a lot of build I contemplate they leave very little if not any room for these skills as the spots are filled up with skills like the defensive ones, and the attack skills. Even some take up more than one tree so CA skills fill the spaces. How much of a drop in game play would it be to not pick up any of the General Skills at all? Like as far as speed and ease goes. Anyone's opinions are welcome, just back them up with your thoughts please.
  10. Well...arcane probably wont work out best on its own, you could read through this build though (Schots Bolting Terror) and maybe get some ideas, its a great read at least. I know its pre Ice&Blood, but with a little tweaking I think it could work some wonders...although using shadow step may be a bit harder now. If only I could play Ice and Blood. I'm on the console so if it's pre ice and blood not an issue. My gaming comp is in a state of limbo right now because of some start up issues. (Not sure what it is. I would say video card but that's integrated so only thing I can think of is that the hard drive is going out on it...but even then I'm unsure.) Will read the thread though, might get an idea but playing anything where you gotta pick the target area to activate it is rather rough on console (Hold button and move cursor to pick target and hope the mobs don't kill you while you are doing this.)
  11. Well shoot what is the point in getting the cooler weapons that have nice little stats to them if some dinky level 2 weapon will oust it in damage?
  12. Don't worry GoGo you aren't missing much with the VD one. The worst part about it is that it's really boring and you can't get the same loot if you just went around collecting the stuff yourself.
  13. Looks like his Enhanced Perception was low. Maybe he should trying raising his Bargaining to try and persuade the blowpipe off ya.
  14. Thanks. I always envy the casters of the games I play cause they typically look the coolest both in their abilities and their gear. (Again, if I go back to wow it might be my mage though she has a lot working on to do. First would be getting 1k gold to get dual spec) But I always have that issue with casters that I can't seem to get them to push the numbers or have the survival I want. With Sacred it's a bit of both. I've tried fire and it had the power, just not the survival. I tried ice, and it had the survival but now power. I thought about playing Arcane but it doesn't look like it was ever meant to stand on it's own like fire or frost. (Sorry if I'm using wrong terminology for the game. I'm still stuck in the WoW language.)
  15. @chattius: Good to know. I've thought about making a class that utilizes pole arm weapons at some point but never really thought to use an Inquisitor. Shadow Warrior comes to mind but...well....the Shadow Warrior seems like a tank class...and after WoW I hate playing anything coming close to a tank. @essjayehm: Thanks for the advice man. I like the raw power provided by the Inquisitor but my friend who plays plays mostly Light on his seraphim and I'm at a bit of a loss on what character to play. I like the power the Inquisitor has, and all. But the melee aspect is getting kind of eh. Problem is, the Spell casting aspect of the game is really rough at the start. And I thought playing a caster at the start of WoW was rough. Which was why I kind of wanted to build a hybrid caster melee.
  16. Hello Kat I kind of stalk around the other forums looking for tidbits of info and have tried several builds and classes in the game. The elf has given me the most problems thus far which is why I find myself coming back to her over and over again. (That and she is hot. ) Anyway, I play on Xbox 360 and am looking to probably try your build out here and see how it works. Was thinking of switching Bargaining with Delphic Lore but I also had the thought that if one has Lore, they can bypass constitution due to the high amount of health regen they would get from GI. What do you think Edit: Nevermind, I was still back on page one
  17. So I started up another inquisitor as my old one is gone. (Probably deleted it for some reason or another) Anyway, one of the best tactics I tend to use right now for him as of level 10 is Clustering to pile huge groups together and then letting loose with Levin Aray and then just watch their bodies create this huge explosion. Lots of fun to watch. Now I play on console so I'm looking for some critique on what I have thus far based on that and based on plans I have for him. Attributes I've spent so far are a 50/50 mix of Health and Str. Why those two? I like the GI aspect of him better cause of the raw brute power and the melee aspect. Not sure if that mix would work for him, though he does have a nice modifier for Int anyway. My skills so far and planned are as such. Bargaining 10 (Kept at Character level. use this to try and get him some nice gear...though in bronze I'm not sure how many +to all skills rings and what not I'll find) Dual Wield 5 (Thinking about leaving this here and maybe look for some +skill stuff to keep it where it needs to be) Tactics Lore 3 (Trying to put this at character level as well) Armor Lore 1 (Gonna put 5 in here for sure so I can unlock constitution. I don't want too much defense cause with PC taking damage is kind of key to optimizing the buff) Those are what I have now, and here is what I plan GI Focus (pretty much right now it would mostly be the odd point here and there so that I can have high access to higher levels skills. Unless I don't need the higher level skills and can just get my mods from Tactics that would save me a skill.) Constitution (Like having lots of health so I don't die.) Concentration (Master this at 75 so I can have 3 buffs running which I'm thinking PC,Dopple, and RP) AS Lore AS Focus (These two I can possibly switch lore out with GI focus if it turns out I really don't need it.) That's pretty much what my plan is thus far. that's only 9 skills so maybe CD for the last spot. But for the most part I'd just be using GI Combat Arts for Boss killing and Astute for mobbing.
  18. With your Rev Tech lore and Focus you probably won't need Warding Energy Lore as those should boost your shield...I think. Would probably be best to double check the Wiki on that. EP would help greatly in helping find some set pieces of gear and what not...I hate making toons without it and toons that can't get it I tend to shy away from as I like to have asap. It's really hard for me to say what to do here cause I haven't tried to many hybrid based builds. I'm either ranged, Caster, or melee never a mix. The last two skills are really dependent on what your aiming for and if you want sheer power of rev and celes then you'll probably for sure wanna pick up celes lore and then combat discipline. The skill lists you have given show you probably use combos quite often, so that would help greatly, and the only thing that EWF would do for you would give you A.) Less Malus from EW skills and B.) allow for higher levels to be learned without the diminishing returns kicking it early. A lot will say that it would also give you mods for the skills in there but at most you use maybe Battle Stance and Pelting and through Tactics lore you can get the mods you need to mod those abilities.
  19. Now the real question, does it still stack in the console versions?
  20. Typically if I wanna level to 15 in a hurry I just run straight through the Campaign to and a little past Gar Collosus. Now mind you I do do some side quests such as class quests, the rune master quest in Sloeford, the escort quest hold up and the dead chicken quest just pass where you get hold up. As for finding set pieces I actually had a seraphim just being remade and found her first set (Thought it was Rev Tech set) right as I was getting to the Orc region, and off I think it was either a norm or one of the lower champs. All the same, I have had sets drop as early as Gar from farming him on Free World but I have never seen them drop at levels be low that and the lowest I've seen are level 15 level req sets. Typically you won't start seeing mass sets piece and what not dropping off typical mobs till after you level 20 point and even then you'd have to have at least EP to 2x's your character level. I rarely use MF items though cause I can't seem to find any that actually offer some combat help. As for grinding if you are around 18-20 I'd head to Orc Cave and stick to that till around 25-30 and then continue with the campaign. This is if you are in Bronze difficulty by the way. Once you've grinded the levels in OC, you pretty much are set the rest of the campaign, as you'll level from killing mobs and bosses after that quite easily.
  21. Thanks. I actually went and redid her thinking I didn't need concentration and haven't put it in the build yet. Though I did wanna see how things might of changed as far as finding items went if I got EP earlier. I'd get Bargaining if it didn't bore the hell out of me to spend hours at a time going through shops looking for stuff rather than killing stuff for it Edit: Withdrew what I said after this point. Having tried the shield again it's not that bad so long as I keep it at malus. Problem is Malus is pretty low right now cause I haven't picked up the rev tech focus quite yet, and won't be doing that till I have my defense skills set in place. Now as far as things are going with her thus far she is doing pretty good. And though I'm having some fun with her considering maybe a Rev Tech chick with usage of both Arcangel's Wrath and BeeEefGee. Would be a good combo where I use BFG in combo with Pelting on mobs and bosses weak against ice and just use Arcangel's on bosses strong against ice.
  22. Ok so I'm really wanting to make a high elf but I always have trouble with mage type characters on most games. (In fact when I played WoW, my mage was the last 80 that I achieved and she was never geared or played as much as the others.) Typically mages give the most problems with me in both playing them and playing against them. But what I wanna know is how much of a limit in the game will there be on the Elf when it comes to mini-bosses like the Kobold Chief and the White Griffen. Considering all possible specs as far as pure caster goes. No melee weapon hybrids. Reason I ask this is cause I wanna try and make an elf cause I like the way they look (All mages really I like the way they look) but I don't wanna be hindered to the point that I can't fully enjoy the game cause this group of mobs gives me such a hassle that I have to avoid them like the plague.
  23. There will be a penalty to your experience gains but I don't think it will be too bad. I had a friend join me on a game when I was right at the end getting to the Nameless Guardians and he made a new character on Coop to play along with me. Even with him being just a level 1 Shadow Warrior, he was still getting some decent experience, and was actually leveling fairly fast. Power leveling kind of thing I'd say.
  24. Sounds like I messed up taking concentration then considering that I won't really be using all that many buffs....(I just don't like how the shields work in the game.) Edit: Another thing is I've got some Celestial gear from my melee seraphim and thought about making one. But can't tell if a Celestial seraphim would be even worth it. Seems like it has so little and it's buff is kind of sub par from what I can see. Though that ain't much.
  25. Yeah I thought about buffing that a bit to give me some better regen times (Freaking Pelting right now is like a 10-12sec regen. but that is at level 5 or so mostly from gear) I'm not sure about the usage of the shield really so thinking about dropping it all together and just worry about keeping my natural defenses up to mitigate the damage.
