I understand your reluctance. I am dabbling with a Seraphim caster, and the Orc Cave is definitely not on her to-do list. Are you two playing local co-op? If so, how is the xp divided, and is there a kill bonus?

I think the idea is for a character that stands on her own two feet, without any outside help.

I saw this thread last night and thought, "hey I am already doing this with my second character" (a DW, DP shopper seraphim). Then I remembered this morning that she is pawning junk from the chest for money, so disqualified!

It is good to see new people coming in. The game can seem I little overwhelming at first. For weeks, I played with my laptop beside me with the wiki called up.

I have only really been to the Refuge once, but I did not experience any technical difficulties. I have no numbers to back it up (and I am too busy working on the Niob campaign to get any), but my opinion of the Refuge is that it is on par with the Jungle and Swamp for XP. The drops fall way short, though. I am playing Niob, so max level has never been an issue, but at lower difficulties that could change the distribution.

I used Fasterfox some years back before I got DSL. The results were not life-changing, but I think it helped. Here in the States, limited access wired internet if practically unheard of, so I never considered the pre-fetch to be a problem. I normally access the two sites from my Droid, but when I am on my desktop, I have never seen any issue with FF (on Linux) although I never compared it to any other browser.

This is pure speculation on my part: I think the intention is to load everything on an external drive so that it can be played on different computers. I would guess that the registration is unique to a given pc and will not work on another machine.

You should have a shared chest that all of your characters can access.

I am still of the opinion that the best we can do is come up with a list of potential places. Build specifics and playstyle account for too much for anything absolute.

For me the Orc Cave comes out slightly ahead for a 30 minute run (5,076,384 vs 4,982,280).

I mostly browse this site from my Droid with the mobile skin, but tonight I was actually on my desktop so I decided to check out the new skin. It looks good. The dead-space on the sides is typical for forum sites, but I consider it to be a non-issue since I seldom run maximized windows.

At work, we have to develop for a 1024x768 display.

My shopper is level 20 and has 20 hard points in Bargaining. She currently has 54 soft points, but I need to visit the blacksmith and upgrade a number of my All Skills items. In my novice opinion, you should invest as points into Bargaining as you can afford, without sacrificing survivability To your rune question, my main seraphim only has 209 runes in Battle Stance and 363 in Divine Protection. I stopped because of diminishing returns.

I always seem to wind up with an inventory full of 0 star armor. I cannot recall if it was for another class out not. If it was, that could have been caused by my misc setting.

That is part of the main quest, right? My two problems with that area are the orc "friendlies" that get in the way, and the fact that the enemies do not respawn.

It took me longer than 2 minutes to fight my way thru the legions of bad guys to get there. AFAIK, the closest portal is at the castle a good distance to the southwest.

My biggest problem with it its the OMG long walk to get there.
