  1. I asked this on SIF but I will ask here too. I suspect I know the answer already. We all should know that in most cases taking these two is a bad thing to do, but I have a question. Say you have a low level dual wield and high level sword lore, does the sword lore over ride the dual wield in the case of max level weapon you can use or do you miss out the minute you equip 2 weapons? Or is it split so that sword can be high level in 1 hand but not in other? This is just a hypothetical, I have the opposite. level 75 DW & level 20 Sword lore, just curious if its useful to raise sword lore to boost max sword value. I only have both lores as I made one of these but as usual (for me) her shopping is low still. I prefer to kill rather than shop.
  2. Isn't the focus of most MMORPG's to get to end and do the end game... What end game is there in Sacred 2? This game is focused more on making characters unique, not making them to fit a role in an end game dungeon fest. It would make respec necessary as most people wouldn't want to play through 200 lvls with a build that works at end game, but not before. Everyone would have cookie cutter builds to fit in. The level cap would surely be lower, as people would complain they can't get to 200 and do the last dungeons. It was like that with Sacred 2 already. I kind of hate the wave of people you get with every new game that want this and that feature to make it the same as the previous game they altered to be the same... etc. No one wants to learn new things or take time to get things right. Good thing is the wave can ebb if they realize their demands won't be met and the sane can remain and learn from their mistakes. I may make suggestions but I try to restrict them to small improvements, not game changers
  3. I don't like wireless keyboards, I once had a logitech combo where the mouse & KB got confused as to what functions certain keys should do. Was very frustrating and I only solved it by going wired again (After I had tried a full reinstall of Windows). Now I use both Microsoft Keyboard & Mice (Sidewinder X6 keyboard & Sidewinder X8 mouse), and can actually use the middle button map function in Sacred 2, I had never seen it work on Logitech mice. My PC seems very empty inside from the description above, I didn't mention dvd drives but as game doesn't use them, it wasn't necessary. Monitor is a Samsung SyncMaster P2350 & Speakers are normally Logitech E5500 THX 5.1 Digital but as I am in middle of having room painted, I just have stereo ones attached now - just not the same. OH, and its Vista 32bit, not in a rush to gamble on whether Sacred 2 will work in W7. I know the 5gb of ram is overkill at moment but 1 day it will all be used.
  4. I turned off physx tonight too, just to see if it helped at all, and though I played for only an hour, game decided to crash on exiting game. Your tip worked well when game worked, just not when I decided to exit. I did manage to play in Grunwald for an hour without a crash, that is pretty rare. I will play longer tomorrow. Specs: Intel E6600 @ 2.4ghz Dual Core\ Motherboard: Asus P5N32E SLI Plus Nvidia GTX260 (using 197.45 drivers) 5gb ram 300gb Velociraptor Silverstone TJ09 case It was a good pc 4 years ago, intend to update some time this year (Once I get a job).
  5. The ending video (if you don't blink and miss it) is different depending on your alignment, as is the main quest progression (you go through different towns) but yes, generally, the main quest is the same. Some of the side quests are different and some you can only do on one alignment, not both. The ending isn't the reason to play game though, making characters and trying different things with them is. All of us would have long ago stopped playing if the end was the reason to play
  6. I had to restart a character once because of a patch & his reliance on gear (he was level 121, a tad late to adjust), I don't do that anymore. So my characters didn't have any adverse effects from the expansion. Apart from me rushing into a new boss fight and dying due to not knowing what not to do. That was something I should have know better about I wasn't complaining, it appears my posts look like I am, but I wasn't. I know I have jumped to conclusions in the past and try not to do that anymore.
  7. Was 2.43 the patch that removed "chance to dismount npc" since that mod never worked anyway? I recall one patch did jumble everything up. We were getting to point every patch reduced our abilities. AT least RPH works now, and they added Direct Damage.
  8. The perfect mod for escorts would be to make all of them give you a choice of weapon equipped. The 1st escort quest does, giving you the illusion of some control. Yet no other quest does. They should offer sword, bow or nothing at all. Let you choose whether they are aggressive or just meek sheep. That would make more fun.
  9. Once my house is rebuilt fully (see Here for details) I will have to play again - its pointless now since I have no speakers set up (sound makes game feel real). Good to hear it might not be a casters world after all.
  10. That would be a question for the people who read over 1000 runes into the HE buff Grand Invigoration, since it had such a small regen penalty tied to the huge amount of runes. There must still be old characters out there with that total, I can't believe its cap would be 200 with so many read.
  11. They reduced the value of +skills & +Combat Art rings/amulets because people who probably no longer play game had been complaining game was too easy... this is result. We like to think devs will listen to what people say on forums but this is just a knee jerk reaction and didn't help those who played game accepting the way things are. Forums used to be used for feedback and problem solving, now people just ask for what they want and won't accept how things are. At least SIF and here seem to have less of this type of thing now (probably as the complainers have moved on to the next great game to ruin). Not all games have to have the features that others do, that is what makes them different.
  12. Two quests give gray rewards, one is found near the docks in Thylysium (you get it off a woman asking about her lost husband) and the other at Teardrop Hamlet (this one is off a kid who wants his balloon back). The Easter Egg quest can actually give you some nice rewards, though I have heard of people crashing out of game if they enter the final cave. Good luck
  13. Not sure the rune cap of 200 equals a level cap of 200. Only way to test would be with a high level character with plenty of +Combat Art gear (set gear would also help). I think cap would be higher.
  14. Only way eating a rune can ruin anything is if you were playing Ice and Blood with the release version unpatched and accidentally ate 1 more rune when you were on on 199 or above. This caused a roll back to level 0 Combat Art and meant you had to start again on that Combat Art. I did this but not on my main attack. You get so many runes that eating 1 into an attack you don't use really doesn't hurt at all. Eating an extra rune into a main attack will raise regen but you can soon catch up again.
  15. Alt highlights everything, as eventually you might not want every heal potion, or all the junk game gives you on auto. That way you can pick & choose
  16. Shame Shadow Warriors can't get that high in damage. The classic argument that they have high survivability doesn't flow well with some buffs casters can use to make them just as hard to kill. PVP would be a joke for Shadow Warrior vs casters, though Shadow Warrior buffs have ways to counter that. Shame there is no real rogue build to make them high end killing machines... melee always seems to be low end dps and high armour (rogues being the exceptions). It's just sour grapes, my highest HE only got to level 16 (she ran out of money buying potions). Carry on, love to know what highest post Ice and Blood is.
  17. Lets hope who ever the developers are, they don't break up soon after release. We don't need to relive Sacred 2's sad support tale again. I had no problems at all playing Sacred 2 until Ice and Blood. Now it crashes too often and I just haven't bothered playing it in a few months. I like the extras in Ice and Blood too much to revert anyway. Catch 22 situation.
  18. Don't all dwarves have beards in rpg's now anyway? Try to break a tradition and let them wear dresses (It works in Discworld novels) and jewelry. Gosh, make S3 the discworld world and I would buy it tomorrow. I want to be Riincewind.
  19. That is easy, the quest chain is as follows: The ghost village • A long lost letter • Following orders • Forgotten valleys My house got flooded so I haven't been able to turn on pc yet alone look here until now. The only bosses apart from the mini bosses who need quests are already mentioned above. I don't think I have all the mini boss quest names. Here are some of them: The Griffin, The big bad werewolf, The wild Boar, The Ice Lord, The mad ogre, Flame Lord, The harpy queen, The Earth Lord, The poison lord. I think I am missing one still.
  20. It took them 4 years to release Sacred 2 after S1, and even with a new dev team, I can't see it being released in a hurry. S3 won't have the luxury of pre learnt lessons, so how I approach it will be different. I was hooked on S1, I didn't really want to do the same on Sacred 2 but I did anyway. S3 will be a new game and I will look at it same as I do any new game I haven't played before. D3 will be released when its ready. Blizz have the luxury of getting most of game correct before release, and since they still support D2 after 10 years, it won't be left as is for long. It has an audience waiting for it now. It doesn't need any hype. They will buy it regardless of what is said. I know I will, its a shame I have to wait until next year.
  21. DD being like LL makes sense, I had always assumed it was unblockabke damage. Would I be on the right track?
  22. The demon champs being bugged explains why they went from being hardly a problem in vanilla to something to dread in Ice and Blood. Fighting with hand on space bar there is essential... and I only play softcore. But death still sux there too, its just no final (though I hardly ever play dead characetrs after they die, losing SB makes it hardly worth the effort). It sux to hear Gogo but you will grow from it
  23. Not too sure what you mean, the only type of npc that should steal your focus are bosses. And there is nothing you can do about that.
  24. This is probably on these forums somewhere but Schot posted an explanation of Survival Bonus on the SIF, it should come in handy. Best place for beginners to learn is the wiki. Just noticed all my sig links on SIF don't work anymore... sigh.
  25. Since I play campaign mode, I generally don't grind areas (too much) for leveling purposes - back tracking in quests covers enough territory to equal grinding, but I often stop for about 5-10 levels in the swamp, and since Ice and Blood was released, the cursed forest (as mentioned by Barristan) is the best place I have found. Crystal region would be good if it weren't for the 1 hit kill bug, though I don't like the beginning area there (the yeti's are okay and the end is okay too). I battle the freshness thing by not playing very often anymore. It got to the point I could see Clearview without closing my eyes or loading game. Last time I played, the game crashed and I lost 4 hours of play... that is another reason I don't bother much anymore. Oddly Grunwald seems to make my game crash much more often than anywhere else. Why do I play at all? Well, its only game on my pc and I like games that allows me to explore and find things (So I will be getting Just Cause 2 soon - its map has just as many Easter eggs).
