  1. Giving away one key to this game isn't much of a payback. It reminded me of the idea that the price is the main difference between the xb1 and ps4 - its saying that the only reason no one bought the product is cause its too expensive.., and over looking all the other reasons (In xb1 case, the fact the graphics card will never be equal, and in Sacred 3's case... lots of things). Treating everything as equal is a curse... by trying to act neutral you are skewing the playing field. Some things don't deserve it. If its one guy trying to make amends, thats okay... its all he can do. If its the actual company behind the game, need more than one key that's already been used to deflect the hate. Some devs seem to be driving their own franchises into the sea, the amount of changes in Sims 4 shows EA is after its blood next (not that I intend to play it) and its only lesson learned from Sim City is people will buy franchises based on previous games without looking too hard. I feel sorry for casuals who didn't look into the game before buying. They are the true target of these games.
  2. The circumstances are unique, have to do one quest but not the other. I ran up that road where it was several times while in chapter 2, so funny it decided to happen while I was in chapter 5. Did the CM patch people fix escort quests? I did one earlier who in vanilla game was exceptionally suicidal yet now he only attacks things if they right next to him. I had noticed the monsters generally ignore escorts now, which is handy.
  3. This could go in bugs except I don't expect a fix, so I will put it here as a "What the..." moment. I was on seraphim island doing the quests as I went, and did the pumpkin quest that explodes everyone but something went odd. Instead of killing everyone I ended up with 10 cows and one confused farmer. I was so confused, I know I am not meant to have cows on seraphim island of all places, I tried a reset but they stayed with me after that. I wandered around the island thinking, if they don't leave me when I hit the tunnels is going to be very crowded. Anyway, I eventually worked out they are actually linked to a chapter 2 quest and I will have to deliver them there if I want to get rid of them. Its funny, I have never had this before or I would have known to avoid the quest.
  4. I need to look on wiki for the steps of the shadow warrior quest, it stopped updating at the wall. As for seraphim quest, its been broken for a long time, need to look on wiki for it too.. vaguely remember last step being in a completely illogical place. It ends way before the last island, unlike the others.
  5. I am sorry, I didn't intend to make out they were the same people. I knew that already I was just using their names as a point of reference, saying some people like reviewing the bad games.
  6. The main quest is just a gate keeper, it allows you to go to another area (mostly) after the boss that stands in way.. though you can just walk around the wall Gar supposedly blocks, you still have to kill him to get to Dryad island. This game was never what you would call story driven, something that saddened some people but most of us saw its about character development, the story is just there to spice up the regions as we would get bored grinding in one region eventually. And its such a nice map to explore too, you can go almost evey where right from start (a trait shared by Sacred 1). Playing a TG right now, just got the fun quest to escort that guy... guess I should have read his text boxes before blindly clicking accept. Shadow warrior gets a quest to kill him too. I think every class visits him at some stage.
  7. Its the way of the world, most games are now made for console first, pc second. Only a small number of devs look the other way, as the money is too good to ignore. Most genres are better on console because of the limited variation in specs you need to work for, and the controller scheme is already there. ARPG in an exception and MMO to a degree too, mainly as you need a keyboard to control the game more effectively. I know that D3 exists on console, as do MMO, but its generally easier to play them both on keyboard. I played FF14 on PS3, its really hard to type using a controller. But that doesn't defend in anyway the control scheme of this game on pc.
  8. Curious, Are any of the class quests linked in any way? In other words, do they all tell a side of a story from different perspectives? Or are they just all out to save the world (or destroy it) in their own unique ways? I have only ever really played the SW class and I never really followed the quest text all that much, but recently I have played a few other classes. And it got me thinking. I guess I should complete their stories further than Gar Collosus (he really sux, has he been buffed in CM patch as I know he can be a pain but some of my guys can't even hurt him lol). PS I wish the game would always show where the next quest is. on some classes the chain is broken and I have to wander around looking for the next part. seraphim for instance, and the SW seems to be the same now. Also doesn't help that the marker for the epic quest guys is exact shade of blue as the SW class quest marker.
  9. Last few days I have played Sacred 2 again, and the open world, or complete lack there of in Sacred 3 is a killer to me. I had forgotten how much fun it is to just go randomly killing things, instead of questing. Or just doing mapping runs and having 20 odd red triangles flowing you around on the map. This game is too restrictive, no grinding allowed, we hand hold you though out.. no ca runes, so you can't accidentally be too op for the game, that wouldn't be "fun" now would it? No shared stash (not that there is any equipement anyway) so you can't pre equip your characters for their trials ahead. And how do you compare 40 quests or so to 600? I know when I read about expandability in Unbended, their idea of dlc won't be pay to enter a few more quests.
  10. Angry Joe, Zero Punctuation - though to be fair, he is asked to review a lot of the bad games because people know how he will react and enjoy it (and he is an Australian, I feel I need to defend him) - and a few other always jump on the bad game conga line. Joe's name is an advert of what to expect, but even then, I can only handle him in short bursts. Sometimes I enjoy watching bad games just to see the game play without buying. I think his Rambo review was the only way I could watch that game without being repelled (I tried to watch lets plays but I couldn't handle more than 5 minutes of the game... it is that bad). Road to Hell Redemption was the same. TB reviews anything, not just the bad games, and I rely on his reviews for a clue as to whether its worth my time or not. I can normally tell within the time frame if its worth looking into or not. Too many bad games get released now under the camouflage of sequels. People get excited about the previous game and don't look into the next one with critical eyes. I was like this with Diablo 3, I just didn't look and bought it blindly. Same would have applied to Sim city but its server issues in the first two weeks stopped me (which is just as well as they just hid bigger issues). Most sequels these days have to be treated like brand new IP's, just cause you know the characters doesn't mean game will be any good. I used to pre order all the time but so far, this year, the only game I have allowed myself to pre order is Diablo 3 on ps4, as I know what its like (having played it already). I watched Sacred 3 game play, I don't need to ask how he would respond.
  11. The trick to it was you had to put the 1 point into Tactics before it opens up DW at that point, I restarted again to see what I had done wrong. I had not thought to add a point before opening up the menu to choose another skill. Tricky.
  12. Since you play on console and it never got any patches, the ability to have a high speed bfg isn't really cheating if game lets you do it. I tried to make Anti trusts DW seraphim yesterday but I couldn't take Dual Weild without a weapon lore first, when did they change that? I was sad as I had to take sword first and then sort of breaks build order.
  13. Woah Sacred Sounds like a Legend. This proves most Youtube comments on Sacred 1/2/3 videos: "I loved the first game, The second one was okay. " "The first game was perfect. Sacred 2 was buggy and laggy" "Sacred has better voice acting than the two games after it". I can list more but, maybe not, I am sorry. this is rose coloured glasses time... S1 was buggy too, every patch added new interesting "features" you had to find. Sacred 2 wasn't perfect either but they both suffered from broken quests. I played both, I was there... I was only thinking about the beach in the desert region earlier, its about the only part of S1 I remember.. apart from the fun giant spiders I was sad not to see in Sacred 2 (I remember my 1st play through, looking for them in Sacred 2 and being disappointed. The giant spiders in Sacred 2 aren't as big as a house) Re Titan Quest. one thing I hated about that game was no respawns. Once you cleared a region, it was time to move on... no grinding. That is sort of like S1 was, once you cleared all the quests there would be less around but from memory , once you cleared a zone in S1, you got a boss fight or something (its a long time ago). Back on topic: I think the free for all loot system will get lots of complaints early on, since a new game will get the crowd who just want to finish game in a month and move on, and they won't like it... but as they start to go away, the long term players will get the quality plays they are used to. As for me, I play offline if I can anyway, being able to pause and walk away is why I play Single Player games. I have had my share of MMO already. I might change my opinion later on... who knows.
  14. I know that its way too late for that. You been crazy for years. I assume its 13th August in EU time, so its the 14th for me... being in the future has its draw backs. It always happens, its the same on PSN too. Only sometimes do I get the 1 day advantage. I might join, I had over 5k posts on the Sacred forums (but quantity doesn't always equal quality) but I might wait till game is closer to reality.
  15. I just read them on the unbended site, much easier than trying to read the green text (glad its not still red, my headache would not be amused). I like their answer to the S3 question, them saying there is no S3 to them makes sense. The failure of S3 is a good thing for them as it got them heaps more attention than they would have if S3 had been good. I hope there aren't as many rats in Unbended, its one thing I had forgotten completely about. Creatures in Sacred 2 would follow you across the map. The last few days I have spent in the world again and rats are everywhere. I would actually prefer kobolds to rats (Colif goes mad). Constant nagging little things, remind me of bull terriers. Transmog.. until reading knuckles post, I had no idea what they meant. They had that in Age of Conan too, and it was actually liked by most long term players as finally they could hide their mismatched gear or run around in a loin cloth. It wasn't essential, you didn't have to use it. Not sure I like how D3 lets you swap weapon models, that's just going too far. Honestly, in sacred 2 half the buffs obscure your appearance anyway and you too busy killing to notice your pants graphically go through your belt (certain Shadow Warrior set combos look bad)
  16. Weapon choice is up to you, if its first sw and you don't have bags full of weapons, I would go dual weild as there are generally more one handed weapons to choose from. The 3 buff build is fun but its not as strong to play as other sw (like the build I am playing now, its full on defence so you don't kill very fast but then you aren't taking any damage either. The only boss I would avoid is the boss on dryad island as he regens too fast for my current SW to kill him. The only real advantage to the 3 buff build with max concentration is being able to use 3 move combos, and there aren't many of those where moves don't cancel each other out. My frenzy is about 6 seconds right now, but my Demonic Blow/Frenzy combo is about as fast and lethal. I went a little mad with frenzy early on but have only read 3 runes, the other 14 levels I have are from gear. I am probably wearing the wrong set too, I should stick with Dendarins too but I am messing around with new sets that have been added since I last played. Make a combo of rousing attack and killing spree, use it on every boss. Augmenting guidon isn't so bad either. I can't remember the good astral power moves since I generally don't use it. I do remember the skeletons were pretty useless. The two buffs, Grim Resilience & Reflective Emanation aren't as good as they once were, they reduced their effect in one patch, as you used to be able to reach a level of resistance that made us invincible. If Spunky were still around, he would remember the good old days. That Colif guy knew his stuff, just need to remember it all again
  17. Subscribed, but as I am a lurker, you won't see me post on there. Been there 6 years, no posts... getting to point it has to be life threatening for me to post there. It used to be a great place, now its full of idiots.
  18. ATI cards don't support physx, since its an Nvidia thing. Does error stop game from running? I run an ATI card with Windows 7, from memory that was the worst possible combo for this game but so far no issues. The occasional weird glitch at character select screen (screen becomes a bunch of lines) but I blame the memory leak for that as its usually after a long time playing.
  19. If there is no level cap, then maybe a respec where you get a chance every hundred levels or so to re roll (could associate a gold cost to it, pay more for full respec - though if gold is anything like Sacred's, after level 100 you have so much it is meaningless (unless you were a shopper)) would be nice, as back up for accidentally choosing pacifism over toughness (as an example). I never got to the max cap in Sacred 2, I never felt limited by it though. Sure, it was easier to achieve online, so I guess a higher cap would be good for some of you, but 200 offline was enough for me. Limitless just means you play until you get bored, it may not happen as fast as if you achieve everything you want to gain, but it will happen. I played Age of Conan for 2 years in between Sacred visits, and I managed to get everything I wanted on my character, and though I had thought it was all I wanted, I realised that getting everything you want is a trap, as then you have nothing you want to do next. And boredom set in. I loved Diablo 2 and only stopped cause I couldn't stand looking at it any more... sometimes its best to not love something to death. Returning to Sacred 2 after 4 years feels like a new game, it certainly looks better. I have a better gpu than I did when I played it before, that is one factor. There is just so much detail in the game, can't wait to see the map in Unbended. Hope it runs on my pc...
  20. I think I tried every type of Shadow Warrior (triple buff was fun but under powered) so a respec option would have reduced the number of level 100's I now have. Plus side to playing them all is the number of set parts/uniques I have stashed away for the future, and well, game was fun
  21. I never played a dryad so I cannot comment on them. I have four characters over level 100, but then I played game for two years before I stopped. I never got much above 140 though as I played offline and the experience needed to level starts to get crazy around there. Getting to 200 in single player would be an achievement.
  22. I saw that, this one isn't bad either: I hadn't noticed before but it seems you use wasd for all movement and mouse to attack.. you can't just click on ground to move or target far away things (unless you play the ranged class). That is so backwards it hurts. Its so obvious the pc version is just a really bad console port, as it plays well with a controller. Role reversal, Sacred 2 played better on pc than console but this one, not so much. The camera is locked, it seems to me someone saw Diablo 3's camera view, its adventure mode, and thought, that is what an rpg is now.. lets make one. But Diablo 3 itself is deeper than this, the adventure mode is just an extra you get after completing normal story and walking through areas that may look similar to Sacred 3 ones but offer more depth and variety, and have random events and dungeons in them... I am a mod on a PlayStation forum, I am making it my job to warn everyone away from this garbage. Its not even worth renting.
  23. This game is so deep, I read my old posts and wish I could talk to myself from 4 years ago as I have forgotten so much. Had forgotten about orbs but as I play a SW and hide behind two buffs, it hasn't been a problem yet. I have a set somewhere with high visibility but I never went to stage of revealing entire ocean, glad they said that the visibility in Unbended might be a bit more reasonable. I have a BS too somewhere, should use him to save money and for the other added extras he can do.
  24. FF14 lets you have every class on one character, this kills the need to even play game again if you can be it all. Diablo 3 has no real spec at all, you can take it all - I still played two of same class cause I enjoy levelling up, since there is no real end game besides grinding gear. Games with respec are built for people who don't want to spend years playing the one game, and just want something fun to play for a month. I remember just after Diablo 3's release the devs actually said they didn't want people playing it for years... but but, that is why I wanted to play it... no idea. I think most of the good arguments have already been taken above. I don't mind having no respec as it means you have to be careful with what you choose, you can't easily fix taking the wrong skill. Its all a learning curve, if you choose wrong your next character will know better.
  25. Unless its been fixed, I don't think you can get the 100 dungeon achievement... (I haven't played for 4 years, so maybe its been fixed). I used to go mad and try to find everything on the map so its kind of strange I never got that one. I have all the achievements except the online ones since I always played offline, and perhaps a few of the ones relating to getting certain classes past level 15. Currently on 890 points. I only seem to be able to play Shadow warrior, I should try to branch out but all my gear I had accumulated is mainly for shadow warriors. I have tried them all but seem to return to SW.
