+1 ... I like Sacred 2, but my only 'love' is and always will be S1-UW. I think mostly because back then everything was completely new, fresh and soo damn exciting and overwhelming... so many stuff that really felt 'handcrafted' and so many details.. and the old 2d-iso view-style camera+gfx.. the easter-eggs, the unique char-classes and their skills... just 'everything' (unfortunately, also a game bugged like that was also new to me ... but even with all it bugs it had and those it still does, this game still beeing my fav, 'best-ever' title speaks for itself and the outstanding qualities it can offer besides it's unique quirks) for me, all this still remains unrivaled, even until to date.. I was veeery disappointed when Sacred 2 came out, (and I'd have totally preferred a 2nd addon over the new Sacred 2) because on the one hand lots of the stuff I didn't like in S1UW didn't got fixed/changed (like darn complicated item/rune management/swap, weired ineffective interface.. 'many' clicks for one simple action) (still no 'real' international world-lobby: the US+EU eg. have their own in Sacred 2, but in S1 even the europeans got separated from each other.. IT,FR,GER,EN restricted etc) on the other side, ofc Sacred 2 has improvements you'd miss in S1-UW, but they are rare... (imho).. but some things that changed - forgive me - I'd personally even call 'regressions' instead of improvements.. the world/content got bigger, sure but at the expence of important dev-time that would have been needed to 'handcraft' and 'manually adjust' everything.. you can see that especially when it comes to the design of certain areas on the map, or the whole item-subsystem, and the 'unique/legendary' items that got created by a generator and weren't manually tweaked regarding stats etc.. I got go more into detail and name hundreds of other expamples but I'm gonna stop right now.. in the end, Sacred 2 just looks more 'modern' , but that alone wasn't never ever enough for me... what made me switch and stick with Sacred 2 simply is the fact that they shut down the closed S1UW lobby, and abandoned S1-UW reg adding content/fixing bugs.. so for me its only Sacred 2 in order to play a sacred-ish game in closed-hc with some friends out of the community (and those guys totally make up for the lack of Sacred 2) ..hmm.. recently I wanted to reinstall SUW gold, and noticed I had deleted all my exported hc-chars I had back then now I really miss 'em, had all 12 216-toons backed up on dvd, its gone.. huh^^ at least there's something nice left over here on the forum, now I could say that's my 'legacy' . http://forum.sacredeng.ascaron-net.com/sho...ead.php?t=41841 Greetings RL (and nah.. d'oh! shame on me, I aint got it anymore what it takes to survive in Ice and Blood hc I guess.. there, I spent 'only' a bit more than 6 months in absence, and hit the servers tonight just to get rid of all that dust that gathered on my chars+accounts.. before I left I had deleted most of my chars and gave away all shiny stuff, so nothing much left in inventory that would need some polishing.. only chars I found left on my 2 Ice and Blood accounts (for the others, I aint got no Ice and Blood keys yet) were a ~lvl69 Shadow Warrior campaign runner and my level 177 shopping dryad.. which I lost both tonight okay, the first that bit dust was my Shadow Warrior, and I must have just fallen into oblivion, as I forgot that even when you're veiled, you're 'not' invulnerable in party so, without any defensive skills or equip, I got 1h killed by carnach.. (darn^^ well I decided to laugh about my own stupidity down there instead of tearing my hair, maybe I had also just fallen asleep already.. been late, alright..) well, anyways.. so I decided to move to the other acc and the dryad.. went out to my fav hunting grounds, not knowing that it would be for the very last time.. however, this time I don't really have any explanation for what was going on in the desert there, got hit once suddenly, down to like 5% health.. healing pot - restored.. 2nd hit, rip.. huh ? well, I've heard about those Ice and Blood stories.. but had to experience it myself to believe it.. so long, ripping saved me from deleting them manually.. don't miss the dryad much, just the nice stuff she had.. glad I still have here trading equip, although I seem like I can't remember how to do this game the proper way, I didn't forget to put it in the global stash, phew.. -epic fail-

hmm, haven't tried out many browsergames yet.. although I find some of them quite interesting, so far I found out that in many of them you can't really make much progress and compete if you don't really log on 'hundreds' of times during a day, so this scares me off.. (I dont have much time for gaming atm, so I hate games that 'want' you to login+play frequently enough, or else you get the feeling you 'miss' too much and can't make progress enough at a competitive level) Travians caught my attention some months ago, and is the only one I play/logon to an almost frequent/regular basis=two day interval.. this lil browsergame is the more RPG oriented version of....: ...Travian (without the 's' , the more strategic variant.. oh, and Shakes & Fidget looks funny, but this and that it's in german only(?) is all I can tell about it (uhh, well u see I'm not much into browsergames.. yet..^^) so, basically I'd be interested in 'em too, just couldn't find and pick the 'right' ones out of this nearly endless and quite unmanageable mass of titles/genres

Hey all, and a Happy New Year hmm this might has been mentioned elsewhere already.. anyway, couldn't find it. bought it and finished the 'story' err main 'campaign' mode with one char now, ending @ level ~30 ... nice game for not too much money, however I got bored by it way too far.. there just wasn't enough content (atm.. might change => mods) and most important: I miss the online part (curious what their 'mmo' project will be like) btw recently, there also has been a little more 'activity' around Mythos again; few days ago the newly launched website got a new look, and a new mythos forum has opened it's doors.. http://www.mythos.com/Game/ looking forward to it, there's some brainstorming on the forum over there, and why I just remember how much enjoyed Mythos ('only' second-best H&S ARPG I've ever played, but best MMO-features I've seen for this type of game-genre) had an extensive item crafing system, and a nice mix of instanced random maps and non-instanced consistent areas miss my Pyromancer , Gad & Co a lot..

you know, that actually happened to me just yesterday... with the addon, one has 5 weapon and 5 Combat Art-slots now, instead of 4... tried to switch to the 5th Combat Art-slot.. somehow my config files (the one before the addon plus the one after the addon) got mixed up, and key 5 was double-assigned to both buff 1 and Combat Art-slot 5 ..resetting the layout to 'default' / reassigning keys solved it then, however.. anyway and besides this, also think there're few more monsters now with debuff-ability.. will try to keep an eye open next time maybe I can single them out

I'm planning on starting a new Temple Guardian without (almost) any defensive skills, heavily relying on energie shields as buff... ..with the right item-mods (shopped amulets), the percentage of dmg taken by the shields can be boosted to like 80-90% or so.. therefore I wont need anything else for this farmer (enh perc,smith,barg) so, I'm wondering, as can't remember atm: weren't there even more (normal) foes besides various bosses/minibosses able use debuff, or have some of the old/new creatures gained this ability since the addon ?

Hi there, first of: it isn't possible to play the Sacred 2 classic/non addon version of sacred 2 once after you install the addon Ice & Blood.. or is it? it IS possible indeed, its a very simple trick.. but it's not supported and you might encounter loss of valuable player - data files so: USE THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK! DON'T TOOL AROUND WITH THIS IF YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU'RE DOING OR WHAT MIGHT HAPPEN.. here's what happens if you would just go and install ice and blood: it's installed into the original sacred 2 root folder you get a new exe file replacing the old one you won't be able to launch the classic Sacred 2 version you're also only able to play on the addon servers here's what you can do to still beeing able to launch and play the Sacred 2 classic version with ice & blood installed : make a simple folder copy of the entire sacred 2 root folder.. BEFORE installing the addon (also backup the separate user data like save games , game option files etc..) install ice & blood like you normally would launch either ice&blood or the copied Sacred 2 classic version using a separate shortcut to each of the game folders *.exe files beware! unknown bugs and glitches, as this procedure isn't supported and you're not supposed to do this, as well as the addon obviously doesn't want you to play the Sacred 2 classic version / wasnt designed to do so now that you have a separate game folder for each the addon and the backed up Sacred 2 classic version, here's what works and what doesn't you can run either Sacred 2 classic or the addon now you can even still play Sacred 2 classic with the same account you registered/upgraded to ice&blood BUT only with some limitations: you can create new classic chars on classic servers one can't play characters on classic servers that were created in ice&blood every time when there are Ice and Blood items in your global chest and you log on to classic your global chest gets purged entirely, for BOTH addon+classic servers ! there might be more limitations bugs errors glitches that are still unknown.. I haven't really TESTED this whole thing, I just TRIED if it basically works, and it does using a different account for both the classic and the addon servers is savest way to do, as you wont loose any items.. is what I'm doing atm and works fine so far there's changed config data once u run ice&blood, for example that's messing up a little bit with things like the camera in classic.. this screenshot shows the classic closed lobby char selection screen, with the 2nd char beeing a dryad created AFTER the installation of ice and blood.. ..you can also see the chars you can't log in to classic anymore / bound to the addon => 'incompatible character savegame' selection screen for the same account as you'll see it on closed net if launched via ice+blood again.. be careful if you test this..

Hi there, I have some troubles with creating a Signature for a friend of mine.. recently talked to my collegue at work about our hobbies, turned out we share the love for pc-games.. well I personally mostly play arpg's , some round-based strategy and a bit of arcade racers.. anyways, she's more into that browser-game stuff, seems she loves that one here in particular: "Travians" (anyone ever heard of it?) http://www.travians.com/ tho she.. and recently me too now, that makes we.. play on the german servers.. http://www.travianer.de/ now about that Sig, as you might have guessed already, it's gonna be for travians.. told me she would like a sig featuring our local lake on it in the background, as it refers to the name she has chosen for her guild.. so, here's one, it's the Wörthersee in Carinthia/Austria, sort of alpine lake ... you won't see my home town on it tho, if you look at the picture it would be in the very left end of the photo, however it's hidden by a small mountainside (geographically , Klagenfurt would be @ east of Wörthersee) http://www.glundnerkas.at/resources/_wsb_keyvisual.jpg so, I have neither photoshop nor paintshop or whatever else here.. only paint.net atm, thats all I could find (for free AND legal) what I was thinking of was a forum-sig based on the above image, but oval/elliptical, meaning a crop-selection of the center, cutting away all edges.. for the basic shape, maybe a bit like this: http://www2.pic-upload.de/04.09.09/ua6gd94cb1s1.png now, what I wanted to do next is to fade out/blur/soften the edges, like 1cm broad, all around the border of that 'squashed circle' donno how to describe it better... it should look a bit more diffuse/transparent/bleached toward the edges, for a softer touch and so that it would fit in better regardless the graphical style/colour of the forum my collegue would be using it.. ..im so darn untalented and blind, I found some 'blurry' effects in paint.net , but couldn't find out how to select a custom selection properly, as I don't wanna use the effect on entire image.. so, my simple question is: does anyone know how to get there with paint.net, or would anyone else be so kind doing all the magic for me with paintshop/photoshop (or whatever) ? actually, the thing with windows 7 is, that without any compatibility mode set, there is a chance to make it register successfully online.. BUT secuROM does not remember this, so next time you will have to register again, and after about 2 attempts your serial will get BLOCKED so u would have to contact secuROM via their website/mailservice normally, like with sacred 2 fallen angel (no addon) it should work, like you know they just recently upped the limit of possible registrations from 2 to 4, for a period of 3 months (so you can register it on lets say 2 pc's with 2 different OS's each.. or 1 pc and 4 OS's) however, again.. that IS NOT working for windows 7 atm since registration is bugged, or let's say the suck-u-ROM part in the sacred2.exe I really hope that there will be an official Windows7 fix either by deepsilver or sony / secuROM right in time, when windows 7 will be out in stores in october or sowhere around then... I am NOT willing to install more than one windows OS on my PC, although I could.. got an old Win XP SP2 retail version as well, but I want to make use of all my 8 Gig Ram, for just only one reason why I don't want to switch back from Win7... besides Windows 7 ultimate x64 RTM 76xx I have Ubuntu 9.04 x64 and Fedora x86 installed... cool.. 3 OS's where I can't play the Sacred 2 addon with well.. then so be it... although it hurts a bit.. stay tuned I will try to keep you informed whenever I read something new regarding this Win7+Sacred 2 Addon matter on GSF or anywhere else..

I use Win7 x64 RTM (MSN) Sacred 2 v2.43 (dont know if I had the RTM or RC for 2.4o tho..) Ice & Blood v2.6x , out from the box.. (well, been using, I gave it back) latest, win7 'optimized' drivers for gfx+sound, and microsofts standard ide/sata/ahci/raid drivers for the ICH9/10 controller on my P45 as they seem to be more stable than the ones from intel, and work better for my SSDs with latest indilinx fw atm edit: well if more people would return their copy of ice&blood with feedback for the reason (doesnt run on win7.. yet?) and - (like here: www.gamestar.de (article in german lang)) online-mags also add a few words to this, then chances are higher that it'll get fixed.. maybe... ..someday..

http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?sh...c=12259&hl= I hope Jens doesn't mind if I'd steal one of his first lines and modify it a bit, for my my own warning-thread here : Hey, don't waste your time by thinking you'll save some time by shoppin the addon asap on release... they screwed it again ... first a few things.. for many users, the addon already caused a lot of inconvenience even if they're not trying to run the Addon on Windows 7 : the official release date for the german version is today, 28.08 .. however, many retailers already had it in stores 2 days ago, on Wed 26.Aug.. now, just like the basic Sacred 2 version, you have to register your copy of the addon online via SecuROM .. however, the registration servers were offline the last 2 days or at least for most of the users.. this is, because release day is today.. at least that's what 'they' claim why it wasnt working earlier. alrighty then, now most of the Win XP and Vista Users seem to be able to register their version sucessfully by now, but most if not almost all Windows 7 users still have massive problems.. (and some others too, but esp. Win7) first of all: Windows 7 hasn't been officially released yet. Sacred 2 as well as the Addon have no Win 7 support and neither is it W7 optimized nor was it tested on it if Sacred 2 and/or the Addon will ever get patched/supported for use on Windows 7, is unclear at the moment however, with some tweaks the Main Version, Sacred 2 was running very well on Windows 7, up to patch 2.4 even sometimes with less problems than on other systems. then patch 2.43 came and things changed a bit, due to reasons unknown, one had to select 'run as administrator' and the 'windows xp sp3 compatibilty mode' for the sacred2.exe in order to prevent a crash right on start in 99% of all cases.. but even with this modifications, it then ran quite well, at least for me, even in windowed mode and multiple instances at the same time (however I got exe crashes a lot if idling too long in any of the closed MP lobby screens.. char selection, server overview.. didn't matter) Now, regarding the Sacred 2 Expansion/Addon, Sacred Ice & Blood: registration in Windows 7 mode didn't worked after installing the addon... after either selecting (I cant remember, but iirc) the Vista SP2 Compatibility Mode or in native mode, today @ 28.08 registration was successful after endless attempts and game launched however the game crashed a lot, so I switched to XP SP3 mode again (had in mind that it worked best for 2.43) now, the registration from before got invalid, got the securom nagscreen again and had to re-register.. (in XP SP3 mode I couldnt register, so back to native / vista modes) for launching and preventing the game from crashing I had to enable Win XP SP3 mode again, however registration got invalid again and had to be renewed.. now, finally it got screwed and on startup, the SecuROM stuff in the sacred2.exe tells me on startup: "too many registrations, please contact Suc-U-ROM @ www.blahblah......" well, I ain't got no time for this, I use Linux as main OS and only 1 wind'oh! version, which happens to be Win 7 x64 RTM which also unfortunately isnt' working for Sacred 2 Addon... so, at least for the next month and before you all run away to the addon servers in september, we will still be able to see each other on the classic Sacred 2 closed HC servers I for one cancelled my amazon order for the other 2nd copy of the Ice & Blood addon, and brought back the 1st version to my local retailer where I got it on 26.08... maybe, someday it will run on Win 7, maybe they'll patch it (SecuROM and DeepSilver) , or maybe some other, clever users from the community find a way+strategy to make it work.. if that will ever happen, I see a chance to buy it again, by then it'll have the positive side effect that it'll also be cheaper then now Greetings RL

(1 day befor my b-day ) has this date already been offcially confirmed for the english version so far?
