  1. HoPE - Heroes of past Empires The biggest german Sacred-Clan, arised from the RAD-Community, has over 100 Members, nearly all active. They play only the MP HC. They have the rule that a new member must be over 25, after accepted you have a Trial-Phase with a Fullmember at your side to check if you fit to the clan or not. If you take a look at the GSF you will see nearly in every thread a HoPE Member posting somethin. They wrote most of the Char-Guides, some of them also participate in the UW Betatesting. It's a very familiar Clan - they have minimum one RL meeting a year. It was founded in November 2005. http://www.hope-clan.org
  2. RAD stands for "Rüstige alternative Daddler" which means "Lusty Alternative Gamers" The Communitys main thing is to give older Gamers (25 and up) a place to share Informations about games, play together a.s.o. They are playing differnet games beside Sacred, for example: Rappelz This Community has no Game-Clan with rules, they play together just for fun. Because of that a lot of the members are aged over 50, english is not very common. There are many threads with translations from english game informations to german. The RAD-Community has very good connections to Ascaron because nearly all Moderators of the GSF are members there. It was founded in May 2005 by me http://www.rad-community.org/
  3. no that tool is not from sacred vault
  4. Ok I try my best to explain what lag can cause - hope that it's understandable ^^ In fact the servers up to 99,5% are not "producing" the lag. It's definitly the customers pc. no I don't want to blame someone. I talked a lot to the devs, specially to the dev who does the network-code. It's the loading time of the textures, animations and everything around which causes in MP the lags -- the server delievers very fast all infos to the client, the clients have to load the stuff and here we have the prob. 8 users on a server - one with 512mb ram, the other with 2gb, next with ata-33 drive, another running other stuff in the background. this all causes different loading times -> the server can't deliever more infos to the clients because he has to wait for them. -> ping raises. For that there is a ping limit, the server than might throw out one client. Unfortunatly, the client is not intelligent enough to stop loading stuff if he got the info that he doesn't load fast enough. What you can try to speed up things a bit is to use an unoffical tool to extract the textures - link and how to use, can be send via pm, the extracted textures have a higher load priority then the package. this works not on all machines but on some. Nice sideeffect, if you modify a texture and give you that to your clanmates you can all see this modification - the others on the server who don't have that file don't see it. Cheers! Pyx PS: please - if I wrote not full understandable things, ask me first before gettin angry ! I'm not a native english speaker.
  5. afaik it's only cosmetic. slipping, missing things etc. are too much rpg-style. you maybe have heard of that ascaron was present at an esport convention held in Colgone. So it's clear that Sacred2 will have alot more A-style then rpg. Pyx
  6. hmm.. what excites me most... good question... maybe the weather... rain drops fallin down your head *sing* eehr.. no I meant the thing that you can see how the rain flows smoothly down the houses... it looks like ... "real"... the first time I saw it on the big screen at Gütersloh (ascaron headquater) .. I was more then impressed.. after a while I start to think that it's really rainin... so in general you can say the gfx excites me most... 3D in a perfect... even objects in boxes on the market place are 3D, the salad and all the rest, all real 3D objects, no plain simple textures.. Cheers! Pyx PS: I don't want to destroy your thoughts about that head thingy -- but it was no heads. it was the normal drop you can see in the vid... not that much gore as expected eh?
  7. Ascaron will use all possible advantages of nowadays pc technology. but as I said, it's not a must to have dual core, or Vista and a DX10 gfx. It's only a choice for the user. Sure, with DX10, with the Aegia Phsyx Card, with 2 or 3 megs of ram, with a dual core you can enjoy the game with all settings maxed out. But I believe that with a middle class gamer PC (which most of the users have) the game will also be an eyecatcher and running smoothly to have fun with it Pyx
  8. Just a small note here remember that the gfx engine is still not performance optimzed, the game itself is still alpha status, so don't worry -- the narrator says that the game will run on a 68xx smoothly and a 2 GHz CPU with the details shown in the vid. The game also will take advantage of dual core machines, but it's not a must. Also it will be released for DX9 first and maybe later or parallel for DX10. Cheers! Pyx
  9. Yes, it's true that Studio II / Ascaron using an external Company called Quality4 for bug checking. But they do not all the work, Studio II still has a complex QA running to be sure to keep as much as possible bugs outside. En Detail it works like this: one or two weeks coding, codefreeze, code check via Q4 and the internal QA, discussion, code checking and cleaning, again check via Q4 and QA, no problems, next step in coding and so on. This procedure takes much time but is the best to be sure that everything works as intended.
  10. Sorry to say that the release of Sacred2 has been moved to 2008. It takes much more time then thought to get all of the bugs out. Also, as you know, Ascaron is developing a XBOX 360 Version too, and this has to pass MS QA without any bugs in. And because the XBOX 360 code depends on the PC code, its clear that the pc code has to be as bugfree as possible. Cheers Pyx
  11. Ovaltine or whatever its written (here in Germany it's called Ovomaltine) is made of malt and wheat as a coffee replacement... the highest selling success of this stuff was at then end of WKII and the first years after. AHHRRGSS BEEERRRRR !!
