  1. I'm in the middle of replaying the original (guilty confession: I've never actually finished the entire single player campaign!)... I want to do that before I buy the sequel. From what I hear, Starcraft 2 is pretty short... just the one campaign, instead of three like the original. Apparently you have to activate your product online (no offline activation allowed) and you have to re-activate it any time you update or patch the game?! Sounds lame... apparently Battle.net is having problems too. Good times. I think I'll probably just hold off on purchasing the sequel and wait for them to release a Battlechest with all of the campaigns... might take another four years, but whatever. Anybody else playing it yet?
  2. I love this thread! So many people posting here with so many awesome or new things. It's great! My comfort food? I also enjoy porridge! Something about the warmth and texture that just does it for me. I also like having tea with it, or sometimes hot chocolate, if I've got a sweet tooth. There's nothing quite like curling up with a blanket, a bowl of hot porridge, and a steaming mug of tasty brew.... with a new game to play? Excellent... total comfort.
  3. Maybe your son is just really appreciative of all the little things in life...? Seeing something new, not getting in a car accident, etc?
  4. I like this topic! Little joys of life, eh?.... I had a conversation with my 2 year old just the other day, and she was being cute, so I said "You're pretty cute, baby girl." She looks at me and gives me her serious look, points to her chest and says "I not pretty cute, Daddy." Then she points to me and says "You're pretty cute!" Kind of amazing how fast children learn. I adore my child. Definitely one of the (not so little) joys in life for me.
  5. I watched Evan Erwin (Mr. Orange) do an unboxing of the Deck Builder's Toolkit on Youtube, a couple of months ago... if you're just starting out, it's a great way to get some solid commons/uncommons and potentially crack some decent rares. Diablo 1 is such a classic... hope you enjoy it! I haven't played the original Sacred, but to hear some people talk about it, it's better than the sequel!
  6. You're selling me on this, gogo....... I do love me some poutine! Heh! Yeah, locolagarto, you might want to pass up some raincoats too... it's been raining cats and dogs in the west here like mad. Nuts, I tell you.
  7. I stand corrected.... apparently they're still just as energetic almost 20 years later... language aside, this stuff is quality entertainment!
  8. I mean, I don't even really like hip hop/rap.... but some stuff is just classic, you know? Absolutely fantastic stuff.... they just don't make em like this any more.
  9. Gogo and I were discussing Montreal (Quebec, actually) and it's fantastic qualities... we figured it would be a good idea to let everyone else share their opinions on this one. I may have the opportunity to live there, some time in the near future (not sure where or when or if it's even for sure at this point). Anybody have any experience/stories about the province that they'd like to share? I love stories. How diverse is the culture there? How's the food....? What's the "English speaking to French" speaking ratio like? Are there any crazy laws that no other province has (that kinda stuff always makes me chuckle...) Just some probing questions to get the brain juices flowing.
  10. Not that I've read the rest of this thread, but I just presumed that Niobium was a metal... fits in with the "Silver" and "Gold" thing. Nice to know that's it's physically real though. Learn something new everyday... ...and I've now gone back and read the rest of the thread... you're a funny bunch! D.A.R.K.nessmonster is pretty excellent. Makes me think of the game The Darkness. Shoulda named it The D.A.R.K.ness. Woulda sold way better...
  11. Welcome to the forums, Humppaleka! I have very little experience with Shadow Warriors, and I've actually taken an extended break from the game, so I'm not the best person to answer your question.... But no worries. There's a ton of dedicated people here that I'm sure would be happy to give you some pointers! As you've probably figured out, we've got a great bunch of folks here. Enjoy your stay!
  12. Happy Birthday, Knuckles! Free booze for you at the bar, I hear....
  13. I was also a lurker here, for several weeks. I came here looking for info on Sacred 2 (to help me decide if it was my type of game) and wound up reading, and reading, and reading.... all of the interesting posts from all of the different personalities is what keeps me coming back. It's one of those places where we all have a similar thing in common (gaming), but we can come here for completely different reasons. An interesting site, to say the least.
  14. Wait... Musrhooms, Onions, and Shrimp:) That's like the perfect meal for me! Did you add garlic, Gogo?! This looks fantastic. Seems like it should be served over something though (rice?).
  15. I am currently working in a corporate office for a certain high profile company, manually updating accounts of "frequent shoppers". Certainly not the most entertaining job on the planet, but the money is easy to come by, so no complaints. I can't post pictures, due to company confidentiality, and besides... I'm fairly sure they would put you to sleep on the spot anyways. The position I currently hold is temporary, so I'll probably post back here as I find new adventures to go on . Should be fun....! Great topic, by the way.
  16. Having to move to another province to find work that pays decent and leaving my fiance and child behind for potentially months solid... eeeeeep! What. The. Hell?! No stress............ Still, maybe this isn't the place for that! Phew...
  17. Spatula all the way over here... Scoop it and flip it, that's it.
  18. Hm... I'm a bit of a peanut butter fiend, so having peanut butter on pancakes really isn't a stretch (not that different from having it on bread, really). But to each their own. I've never had lemon on my pancakes before. Might have to try that! Something different.
  19. This thread is killing me! Poor Peggy indeed... hahaha! I love pancakes... I think I lived off of them almost exclusively for the better part of two years back when I was more poor than I am now har har (thank god for vitamin fortified food, eh?) Want to know what pancakes I hate? Pancakes with ham and cheese in them... just.... wrong. You get the greasy ham thing going on with the greasy cheese thing, and that kinda fried cheese taste... just no good at all! It's the mixture of textures that kills it for me. I mean, I love cheese and all (especially melted cheese), but I think it's the ham chunks that does the whole dish in. Pancakes that I like? Typical english pancakes are fine, with a bit of butter, peanut butter (smooth, not crunchy) and some maple syrup on top. Soooo tasty! Looks like this: Potato Pancakes are awesome! Some people here in Canada like to call them "Hash browns", but I've always thought hash browns were smaller chunks of potato with other stuff mixed in... so I don't think Potato Pancakes and Hash browns are the same, personally. Potato pancakes are a traditional Jewish food as well, called Levivot in Hebrew (although I'm pretty sure that means any old pancake, not specifically potato). They're like a Hanukkah staple. Just more random info... Did I mention that I love this site? Not very many gaming forums out there where you can find so many people that appreciate so much of the same off-topic things. The awesome sense of humor in here helps too! You guys rock!
  20. Funny you mention it, gogo... she just won 2nd place a week ago at a "most photogenic baby" contest using a photo from the same shoot... so yeah, she's pretty darn close to being the baby contest queen!
  21. Looks like you were having a blast, Prom! You have beautiful children, Sil. Loving the photo edit, Schot! Haha! What app did you use to do that? Photoshop or something else?
  22. Funny in theory and as a joke, but completely false in terms of facts and sources. If I remember correctly, this was an old joke that was started back in the late 90's... the joke has sort of morphed over the years into the list from the OP. I believe the original response was a generalization comparing the computer industry as whole to the automotive industry as a whole... so there never was a "Microsoft vs GM". I think the closest it ever got to that was a response from Detroit along the lines of "who wants to drive a car that crashes twice a day?" I'll see if I can look up the original stuff, I'm sure it's online somewhere. Still, funny comparisons! The Mac comment was pretty funny too, although not at all the "5%" bit has changed over the years.
  23. I'm loving Daggerfall in that last comparison, on the bottom right... still completely decimates every other game ever made in terms of game world size, 15 years later. That game was absolutely nuts... twice the size of Great Britain. Awesome. Of course, the graphics are so god awful by todays standards, I can hardly stand to play it... still way ahead of it's time though in scope and depth. A masterpiece (and a primary example of why QA testing is so important! Soooo many bugs on release!) Actually, all of the Elder Scrolls games are ridiculous like that (minus the bugs). I was just looking into the stats on Daggerfall... and they're crazy. 62,394 square miles with over 15,000 towns and over 750,000 non-player characters. Granted, 90%+ of that is probably randomly generated... but hey, for a DOS game, that's awesome.
  24. I could really use an Innis & Gunn right about now... just sayin... Edit: Crap that's a big bottle of beer! Whew...
