  1. Sacred 2 is one of the few "last gen" (PS3 and Xbox 360) games designed to run in full 1080p, so there's a huge difference between the SD and HD settings. If you like the HD look, Sacred 2 in upscaled 3D brings the game to yet another level.
  2. There are a number of them here: http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Console_Information http://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:2-Player_local_co-op_%28PS3%29 I can confirm point 2 (the leech part more work, but the damage aspect doesn't). Also, 4) Mob spell power does not scale correctly. Mob spells deal high damage at the lower levels, but damage is reduced as levels increase. (Essentially renders Spell Resistance useless in the console version.)
  3. That seems like a fitting place for Sacred 3. It wasn't the worst of the worst, but it deserves a spot on that list. Granted, I have no intentions of wasting time on either Sacred 3 or Lightning Returns (even if I'm paid to play either game), so I won't ever be able to judge which was actually worse. However, I'd argue that the conditions around its release set a new low, simply because I can't think of another company who has pulled something as shameful as their "Quick! Release it before the press embargo is lifted!" tactic. A tactic which reeks of "We expect our game to fail". Granted, the community gave them fair warning...short of a billboard outside of their office with "Change course now!" in giant red letters.
  4. Small additions: - Combat Discipline always worked on the PS3 version, so there shouldn't be any difference when transitioning from the PS3 to the PC version. - Smithing didn't work on the console version at all, so it'll be a new option available during the transition.
  5. Hi Josh. I've sent a Friend's Request, and welcome to the forums.
  6. Despite it being a Twitch "Let's Play" video, I've seen random interviews from Joe (such as his Kingdom Under Fire II interview with Blueside) at conferences where he's shown a great amount of pre-interview research (no matter how little time he actually had to prepare). I mean, he had Google at his disposal during the video (and he wasn't playing for most of it), so it seemed lazy compared to the effort he usually puts into everything he does. Don't get me wrong, he's one of the few reviewers which I actually pay any attention to (Edit: "pay attention to" in the method of actually watching the video...I normally just look up gameplay videos and ignore reviews entirely), and that's simply because he puts effort into his research. It was just disappointing that he didn't know basic information this time around. Haha! I've noticed that a lot of people have been re-iterating your points. Dobri is a man ahead of his time!
  7. I usually like the content of AngryJoe reviews (I ignore his opinion, I just look at what's presented...his quick points usually give a good idea about a game), but this felt lazy. He kept on stating inaccurate information, such as statements which assume that Ascaron made Sacred 3, and that they were (maybe) a Polish company. He obviously didn't do any research (which he's usually pretty good about), and he had access to Google throughout the video. He started off very entertained (due to novelty), but that wears off within the first hour (which isn't a good sign for the game). Gogo: The South Park RPG review was the one which sticks out in my mind as one where he was relatively consistent, and he liked the game. Generally though, his opinion seems to vary wildly (including within the same review) and he seems to get caught up on the little things. Sometimes I think he's just doing it to try to stay true to the "angry" part of his name, when it really isn't in his nature to be angry. He seemed to be completely bi-polar about Sacred 2. Both in this video alone: Time 1 = It's an awful game, I hated it. Time 2 = It was a great game, I'm a fan of it. His Saints Row 3 and 4 reviews were completely bi-polar also (and he got hung up on tiny details, and completely missed the point of details in SR3, then caught onto them in SR4...which drastically changed his opinion of each game).
  8. Off-topic: In terms of video games, there are also SRPGs (Strategy RPGs, like Final Fantasy Tactics and Disgaea) and MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online RPGs). On-topic: Thank-you for the FAQ post. I read through everything...and now to look into an early support contribution.
  9. Hey John. Feel free to add me. Unfortunately, I won't be online for another little while though (switching ISPs).
  10. You only need the free account, you don't need to pay for "PS Plus" (which is the pay-per-year service). If you're asked for a credit card number at any point during the sign-up process, you can decline. Once you create your account and are logged in, then follow the instructions I posted above to play online.
  11. Twisted: Feel free to add me (PSN: Mystix123). Spock: Re-post from another thread.
  12. Hi Brad. That's an interesting issue. There were times (on PS3) that I thought it wasn't going to process (like what you're experiencing), then the game lags for a second and all of the hits are calculated. (I ended up not using the Inquisitor further due to freezing issues with CM/LA combos.) In your case: My first thought is that the game simply decides "too much work, I'm not going to bother". Would it be possible to get a recording of this? I would recommend using Fraps on the PC. The trial version is free, though it limits you to a 30 second recording (which will be sufficient for this): http://www.fraps.com/download.php
  13. Hmmm. I've gotten Slicing Scythe with both Seraphims and Shadows Warriors. None of those characters have EP, and I know I've gotten at least 2 of them (there could be other cases which weren't memorable). Only one character has found Excalibran for sure, and that's a Seraphim with EP. Dark Guardian, Lord Wayne and Flame Smiters were found with various characters. My last Ice Flash was found by (ironically) my Ice HE. I think Extremely Might Bat of Devastation is Ice and Blood (at least, it's listed as an I&B drop). I've sold a Romuil's Tears recently, but I can't remember which character it was found on.
  14. On the console version, I've always theorized (but have yet to compile the data) that there's some added layer to the Unique drop rates (possibly unintentional, but linked to the character). I've seen Slicing Scythe a number of times, but I've yet to see a Quetzal's First Strike. I have a number of Serpent's Tongues in my storage chest (I've sold a few lower level ones also) and I've seen Kernforce's Cutlass, Flame Smiter, Lord Wayne's Player Killer, Excalibran and Dark Guardian a number of times also. However, I know of those who've received multiple Quetzal's First Strike drops. In one case, the person played as Dryad, Inquisitor and Temple Guardian, whereas I play only Seraphim, Shadow Warrior and High Elf. They couldn't remember which character(s) received the drops though. So, out of curiosity: Which characters do you play the most, and which character did you get the Slicing Scythe drop using?
  15. Hey Nickolas. Welcome to the forums. I saw your post here and on GameFAQs, and just sent a Friend Request.
  16. As you're on the console version, posting here was probably a safer bet (so that advice becomes specific to the console version, which has major differences from the PC version these days). I only lurk the PS3 boards on GameFAQs, so I completely missed your post there. There was some good information given, but I'll give my views here (which may conflict with those given on GameFAQs). This looks like a tri-spec build, so here is my recommendation: - EW Focus - RT Focus - CM Focus - DW / Polearms (Either are viable. If using DW: Damage per second is higher with Pelting Strikes only, compared to a SH/PS combo.) - Tactics Lore - Armor Lore - Constitution (Overkill. Can be replaced.) - WE Lore - Toughness - Enhanced Perception As you're using Divine Protection, Warding Energy will constantly have to be re-applied (which isn't worth the effect as you can have DP active 100% of the time, and usually stack DP also), so I cut Concentration out of the build. I would recommend Battle Stance over the other two. At Niob: Toughness (and Damage Mitigation) is the best form of defense, especially when combined with a high level DP (with WE Lore), as DM triggers before the damage to DP is taken (thus extending each DP shield's lifespan). In this case, Constitution is overkill and can be replaced with anything else safely. That's all that I can think of to add for now. If you have any other questions, feel free to ask and someone will answer!
  17. I always tell the clerks at Best Buy, GameStop, EB Games, or anywhere selling used copies: "You can tell me that it's 100% guaranteed to work...I'll see you in 30 minutes." I'd say about 80% of my used game purchases from large retailers have been defective. Much better track record from the small retailers, but most of those guys allow you to try it on their machines to make sure it works first anyways. If you can find a disc that someone is currently playing with and install the game using that disc, you might be able to play the game using the discs that you have.
  18. Have you tried installing the game without the update? Try starting the game without an internet connection (turn the wireless connection off and/or unplug the ethernet cable), and it should install the game without trying to download/install the update. I don't know if this will do anything (as I've never come across this issue before), but it's worth a shot as a first step.
  19. It will have 2 player local co-op. "Sacred 3 features classic arcade Hack ‘n’ Slash action centered around drop in, drop out cooperative multiplayer for both offline (2 players) and online (4 players) play." (Source: http://sacred3.deepsilver.com/en/)
  20. Correct, they are using the PS3 as the primary platform, but not for the reason you stated. (In fact, the PS3 has more powerful hardware than the 360, except for a potential GPU advantage to the 360: http://ca.ign.com/articles/2010/08/26/xbox-360-vs-playstation-3-the-hardware-throwdown?page=1) The PS2 was notoriously difficult to develop for (coding-wise), and the PS3 suffered from a less extreme fate (though I've heard that it's not as pleasant as PC or 360). So, it's the more difficult development process which usually makes the PS3 the lead platform for multi-platform games. Thankfully, Sony learned and has made the PS4 comparably easy to develop for. I'm still highly skeptical of the game, it really feels like Dungeon Siege 3 (a game which had a ton of potential, but execution was lacking). I'm going to have to see some very impressive gameplay videos to shake that feeling.
  21. My apologies. I stand corrected. You should be able to walk through the gate and start the Mount Quest in Free World. I'm sure this was unavailable at some point on the console version (because I remember trying to "troubleshoot" the Mount Quest not being available in Free World with friends, but we all gave up and assumed it was another quest locked to Campaign). I think this was pre-patch. I can confirm that the other quests that I listed are still unavailable in Free World though (at least, on console). I've thought of some possible solutions: Wet Danger - If reloading the game doesn't have any effect, then perhaps reinstalling the game might (emphasis on "might") fix all of the issues. Otherwise, these seem to be permanent issues of the Steam version (though I'm not sure why the coding would change just for the Steam version). Alternatively: Are there any patches or updates (such as the CM Patch) which you could install also? Getting to the Mount Quest - If the doors are closed, use the underground tunnel (from the Light campaign).
  22. These are both expected. You can only pass through the gates at Dragonmaw Pass if you are in the Shadow Campaign, and certain quests are not available in Free Mode (such as the Mount Quest, Class Quests, the Seraphim Island Arena and Dragon boss quests, the Blind Guardian quest and the Spirit of Atherton). As for your issue with Wet Danger: That is strange. Unfortunately, I can't think of a solution (apart from starting over), nor can I help troubleshoot this problem. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you with this one!
  23. *Types something into his phone.* There we go. Your inbox will now be flooded with requests by May 1st. Every 30 minutes or so, starting at 12:01 AM on May 1st... I'd love to play it when you're finished. Best of luck with the rest of the project!
  24. So, I'm a little late to the party... 1) According to the site, I joined September 3rd, 2009. I had definitely been stalking the site prior to that, as the PS3 version of Sacred 2 came out on May 11th, 2009. 2) 4 years, 4 months, 3 days (including the end date)...also known as 137,030,400 seconds. 3) The "Community" link on SacredWiki. Found SacredWiki via the Sacred 2 GameFAQs boards, which I still hold an active status with also.
