  1. I mean the random talking of your hero when it just stands still and does nothing. I have the idea the character talks lesser then before.
  2. Or for the more straight forward solution; throw the pc out of the window
  3. Does the camera thing now work with Ice and Blood? Cause I've read in that thread that some lines were changed, like camera2, and there wasn't a solution yet. So I have then to make a textfile called OptionsCustom and delete the original options.txt, right? I have already set it to frequently and even with always they still aren't very talkative then before.
  4. See windows as a bookcase. When you start to take the books of out the bookcase and place them somewhere else then before the case got messed up. So you have to reorder the books. That's actually what a defrag program does; it reorder the files and makes Windows faster. Well, you probably shoud doing it. But don't take the standard windows defrag, but take something like Defraggler.

Sorry, but I find it one ugly case, just like the Skeleton case of Antec. I don't like the weird build. It just likes it comes straight from Ikea. I also wonder if the case is practical. I rather have more the ninehundred or the stacker. LianLi also make nice cases.
  6. Program title : Defraggler Area of application : Defragmentationtool. Is used to defrag your harddrive and make Windows faster Recommended because: It works better then the standard windows defragmentation tool. Yes, it is build on the windows API, but handles the defragmentation different. You can also defrag just a single file and it has a search option. And it is from the same makers as CCleaner; Piriform. Download from: http://www.piriform.com/defraggler Cost: Freeware Known drawbacks / limitation: It may take a while to finish defragmentation of a disc or partition. Defraggler moves the files one by one.
  7. You want to know the best virus protection program? Well, that's easy actually. You have it all the time with you and it doesn't need any installation. You even don't run it on the computer. It's right between your ears. There is no best virusprogram. They all do the same work. It's more a matter of taste. There are some differences between them. One would cause more false positives then the other or is more updated. However, I would suggest not to take any Norton programs, as they are very heavy in use. Your computer becomes slow when using norton. I use myself Avira Antivir personal edition. It is a freeware virusscanner. Avira also have versions which you have to pay for. Antivir personal edition is light in use and updates every day. The only downside is an one time pop up that shows up when it is updating, but there is a trick to remove that popup permantly. One little warning when using virus programs; do not use more then one.
  8. Well, it isn't easy and some enemies are pretty tough in my opinion. Like mother ratzinsky for example; an albino rat with a large health and calls everytime you hit it a wave of black rats. Also touch is the quest in Ughdan Harbor with those persons who killed Ardo (I think they were called neisenbeck). How much hardcore would you have it. However, if you want to have multiplayer that badly, then you better look to other games, like neverwinter nights 2 or diablo.
  9. I don't use it. But another thing is that it is standard activated when creating a character. If you don't be careful when creating a character and don't want to use expert touch, then you end up with a character which can actually cast one combat art at time. I've experienced this myself. Hadn't noticed that expert touch was enabled. Expert touch may be useful for the fighters, who don't use many combat arts. But for allround characters or the mages it is not that usefull. I use alot of combat arts myself and want to switch between it.
  10. This kind of games aren't suited for multiplayer. It's a complex singleplayer game and the story is very important.
  11. Yeah, but those npc's I mention are not part of something wonderfull. I guess the blind guardian fan is just somekind of direction point to the quest. And the paperboy in Twainbrook is involved in an other quest.
  12. I've came to Dark Matters for Sacred 2 (and also sacred 1) yes, because this forum is all about Sacred, but I like rpg's with a good story and good gameplay in particular. I play also games like Morrowind, Drakensang, Neverwinter Nights 2, The Witcher, Risen. I like to have Dragon Age: Origins and play it, but can't afford it. My computer can't handle it. There is one thing that bugs me with DA:O and that is the many DLC's BioWare made. Seems like DLC"s is the new milking cow for EA. Despite the dlc thing DA:O looks promising.
  13. Risen is much like Gothic. Not a big surprise, because it's the same developer; Piranha Bytes. But Risen has not the many bugs of Gothic 3. It's more like gothic 2. Risen is set on the island of Faranga. It is much smaller then Gothic 3. There are actually 3 factions which you can join; The bandits, under the lead by The Don, The Inquisition and the mages. It is an open world yes, but watch your step. Risen is a so called sandbox game. You have to explore everything of yourself. There is probably one downside: you can only play with a male character. Overall it's a fun game. You can cook your own meat and fish, explore the area, do quests.
  14. I have Drakensang: The Dark Eye (full title) here. Played it a while and love it. It's a partybased game, much like baldur's gate. You come across different companions on your way, which enjoy your party. When I played the game for the first time I didn't knew that the area's got locked after finishing the parts of the mainquest. Most area's got locked then, except Ferdok, Tallon and Murulosh. Last time when I played I was busy with the dragon oracle quests. Did the first one in Moorbridge Marshes. Also had done the second, but I have restarted the game, since I wasn't able to defeat kastan gamblack. I play with an elementalist. I think I continue the game soon. There's also a prequel being developed now, which will hit the shelves probably this year. It is called Drakensang: The river of time and plays 23 years before drakensang.
  15. Since Ice & Blood my screen starts to shake at random times. The keyboard doesn't react then, the mouse does. It looks like an earthquake. It takes a couple of minutes and then when I hit the pause button a few times it reacts again and I can continue. It seems like the game is becoming unstable since ice & blood. Before that I hadn't any problems and with the latest patches (like 2.43) the game was very stable. No crashes then, no shaking and everything was just normal. Now it looks like the game is back to the beginning, when it also had alot of bugs and other problems. Also there are some random questcircles that leads to nowhere (have created a topic for that in the bugs section), the characters aren't very talkative anymore and when receiving a new quest it isn't activated like that was the thing before Ice and Blood. The expansion starts to annoy me alot, despite the new things (like changing hair colours, new items, 2 new areas, etc). Is there a solution to make things more enjoyable? I would like to see that shaking go away and the behaviour of the quests acts normal again. The broken circles aren't solved I guess. I don't see that deep silver release a patch on the short term. An unofficial patch may be the solution.
  16. Normally when you receive a quest a circle appears on your map and refers to the area where the quest starts. Since Ice & Blood there are now circles appearing on the map which aren't linked to any quest. This happens to me when both importing existing characters and to start from the beginning. I 've first imported my existing characters and then I found a "ghost" circle on the map at a couple of places in Artamark and Tyr Lysia. Then I decide to start all from the beginning (deleted my savegames), but still 2 random circles appear on the map. One refers to the paperboy in Twainbrook, the other refers to the blind guardian fan in Thylysium. They are also all the time activated. When I get a new quest the circle to the fan in thylysium is still activated. Before Ice & Blood and with patch 2.43 everytime I got a quest the new one was activated (for example; I got the quest muggers and then muggers was activated) It seems like some quests are broken or are messed up. Now I know the paperboy in Twainbrook plays a role in a quest that starts at benny's corn circles, but as far as I know the npc's with the name blind guardian fan only say random things about the concert and are not related to any quests.
  17. Not yet, have to test that. Normally I can most of the times fix problems myself, but sometimes I don't see it. I know pretty much of my own pc and in general
  18. Very cold here, a hard icey storm. No snow however, but the snow from the past days still lie on the ground.
  19. Well, my handwriting isn't great. It's actually too small. Once somebody said that my handwriting looks like the cuneiform script.
  20. In the beginning there can be some fighting between the cats. The old one is used to be alone and have a territory of her own. The new one is first be seen as an intruder. I have myself 3 cats here, all old and grumpy now. But first it started with 2 cats (from the same nest) and then about a couple of months later a third one was added. Well, the third wasn't accepted in the beginning. There were some fights in the beginning and I also took the cat to my room once. Now they all got fine along each other, although the 2 females still hate each other. And that doesn't get away. (there are 2 females and one male here)

I think the list is pretty complete now. But for the record and as asked, here is the directX diagnostics http://www.mediafire.com/?jqwyzlhn1zt The theme I use is called VistaXP. I grabbed it from Neowin
  22. Little update to mine: it seems that the shocking (or shaking) also appear without being disrupt by the antivirus update process. The screen starts to shake at a random time a couple of times. Very annoying.
  23. No, a dvd version. As said, it's part of a bundle called Ascaron Collections vol. 2. Ascaron Collections Vol. 2 contains Sacred gold, Darkstar One and Port Royale 2. It is updated to work with xp and vista. The box contains 2 dvd's; one with darkstar, the other with sacred gold and port royale 2. Here's an example: http://www.game.co.uk/Games/PC-Games/Ascar...Vol-2/~r335115/ In the settings full screen, play movies, create program log file and sound activated are activated, the rest of the boxes are empty.
  24. I've purchased a while ago the Ascaron Collections volume 2, which contains darkstar one, port royale 2 and Sacred Gold. I decided today to install Sacred Gold. Then I runned the 2.28 patch for sacred underworld/gold. I then just hit the play button, game starts up, screen goes black and I hear a "poing" sound. The screen stays black. With ctrl+alt+del I return to the desktop and see a popup has showed up. This is the popup: I also looked into Debug.txt, which appears in the game folder. At the end of the list I see two times failed. Here's the last part of Debug.txt: I have installed the wm codecs and use DirectX 9.0c. I've updated it to the version of November 2009. It has something to do with directx it seems, but I can't recall where the fault exactly is. Does someone have an idea?
