well I'll just clamp on to this older topic instead of starting a new one. I have a question in regards to perma-death AKA HC death...

 

When your toon dies, what happens to your equipment? Is it gone as well? I'd assume the answer is yes but I don't want to assume.

Yeah, it is gone. The only thing you can do is delete that char (it goes in the dead chars tab in the rankings) and start a new one.

 

This is why it's preferable not to die... Or you will rue your own fate like me yesterday - Charity died (level 80) while fighting the last guardian and took to her grave 3 holy protection armors (30-95-95), 1 level 90 niokaste set, 1 level 90 endijian set and a ton of weapons with 3-4 sockets

What does the survival bonus do really? I finished silver with zero death and a SB of 85%. Died at the Orc cave on gold and I'm down to zero SB. I know it will grow back but what does it do for you really?
