lios 0 Posted April 10, 2010 Share Posted April 10, 2010 I'm trying a full assault dryad, which has been much fun, but I have 5 skill slots left and I'm in doubt on what to pick Is it possible to work without any defensive skill points? 1 Ranged weapons. maxed 2 Speed lore maxed 3 concentration 1 4 enchanted perception 1 5 bargaining 1 I would like to add 6 Tactics Lore 7 Capricious Hunter Focus 8 9 and or nature weaver lore and focus / Cabalistic Voodoo Lore and focus 10? riding or damage lore Or should I scrape point 8 and 9 it and take 2 defence, I really hate to take one of the first ones to get ether armour lore or Constitution Any thoughts/ ideas are welcome Link to comment
chattius 2,610 Posted April 13, 2010 Share Posted April 13, 2010 Normally builds without armour lore start to get frustrating if you are not dying. The survival bonus will cause the enemies to be way higher in level. So depending on how much time you spend playing it may happen that you can use an armour piece only weeks laters. So you are behind in what you could wear, which reduces offense and defense by having a lower bonus from your gear. Link to comment

Sometimes boar champs... defeated the kraken boss the octo..-thing. Until now I'm blasting thou almost everything. But I was really disappointed by bargaining. chattius 2,610 Posted April 13, 2010 Share Posted April 13, 2010 And armour lore allows you to wear stuff way above your level. You need voodoo lore only if you want to cast totems. But then you have no ancient magic. I would take nature focus and voodoo focus. Voodoo for headhunting is just too much fun to leave it away. Try to get some modifications for buffs early. Ranged skill and so on give no modification points. Hunter focus ranged lore nature focus concentration tactics reflexes armour ... Link to comment

I don't like the totems. main use of Black Curse, and Twisted Torment to weaken and slow the champs and bosses Speed lore will give me a chance to run and hit again. Go head hunting for a good summon and spam the fast arrows every where. Speed Lore gives you defence, Armour Lore gives you armour values. So, what is the point of armoure if you can not be hit? only the - regeneratoin rate is nice than. but you wast a full poin on something that not used? Spunky 16 Posted April 14, 2010 Share Posted April 14, 2010 (edited) No you can't, eventually a enemy will hit you and if the armor values are too low you will probably die, this of course is later on as enemies on silver/gold doesn't hit hard enough to 1-hit you(except for bosses of course). This is what Chattis was meaning in his last post. I am currently playing an armour lore-less Dryad myself and I have noticed that the power level is quite a bit lower because I have to wait a long time before I can wear any of the armour that I have been collecting in Niob (Set pieces don't drop below level 120, regular pieces start at 110). I am currently level 93... so maybe in a week or so I can start using some of the uber armour that I have gotten. And the answer to your question regarding surviving on defense rating alone... I am going to assume that you are also using Evasion, Reflecting and maybe some block chance (particularly against Combat Arts).... I believe the answer is still no. But I am testing... so I will find out for myself soon! The best thing about the dryad on consoles is that we can run Viperish Disease until we catch up to the levels of armour that we want to use, that is still "relatively safe". Link to comment
