chattius 2,527
Today 150 years ago: the first sentence ever spoke on a telephone was: Das Pferd isst keinen Gurkensalat. The horse is not eating cucumber salad. The words were used because they were hard to speak and a visitor at the demosntration was doing them, so the listener didn't know in advance what would be said. Sadly Reis died short after at only 40 years, tubercolosis. Bell was knowing his works,so we may wonder what a Reis reaching 80 years of age may have invented: I-Phone in 1900 ? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telephon To honor Reis the first email send on highspeed internet in germany was: Das Pferd isst keinen Gurkensalat. I will honour Reis today, doing hot-smoked cumcumbers and perform a salad. Link to comment
Dragon Brother 619
Well, I guess if you are going to say the first thing ever on a telephone, might as well make it interesting! Link to comment
gogoblender 3,070
this topic has meaning to me because we were just discussing Tesla's work versus Thomas Edison, with the latter thinking that DC would be enough to power cities,, which got laid to the side with Tesla's great invention of AC apparently even Marconi had a patent changed, as the courts decreed that another had build the radio before? gogo Link to comment
