Diablo 3 Belial Boss Strategy

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, just a strategy I've grown to using to defeat Belial, seems to work pretty well for me. Even if you don't use this strategy, maybe you can learn one or two things to help out your boss killing madness :)

Sick video rocker!

D2 has nothing to compare.

The effects in D3 look amazing. Phase 3 was unexpected. Did not expect Belial to bring the house down, literally.

I remian,

By far the most awesome boss fight in the game in my opinion (and in any game in this genre really).

On Wizard it was quite easy early on, since their Force Armor meant they were pretty much immortal in phase 3 - but that might not help anymore after it got nerfed. it surely took some tries for me on Demon Hunter where being hit at any point in phase 3 = dead. Without the Deon Hunter immortality skill up anyway. I guess most classes got temporary immunity or dmg reduction abilities to use for this boss, making it a lot easier, though Wizard might not have one anymore. Not sure if Monk still got one.

Timing on this boss could not have been any better Ryan. I'm hovering around the level 27 mark with my toon, cuz I dont want him to die, but seeing this video has given me some confidence.

Just...some

Wizard

Best I have come with for the Wizard is to use low maintenance skills like the Hydra which acts as a turret and Blizzard which damages over time. I think the idea with any boss is to focus more on defensive skills. For Belial I would bring 2 offensive skills and the others defensive. For the offensive skills I would suggest "hardhits" (skills that only requires one keyboard tap to execute and that have high dmg output.) and "turrets" This will allow you to focus on dodging which is a big part of defeating Belial. You also need to be careful of how much of your resource power you use. Make sure you always have enough resource power to use your defensive skills. If you use up all your resource power as damage output you may find yourself suddenly blasted by a Boss with next to no health and no resource power to activate your defensive skills that could save you in a pinch.

Health Potions should never be part of an attack strategy. Play as though they're not an option because after you use one, and for the next 30 seconds, they won't be an option. Better to think of health potions as outside of your play strategy. Especially in Hardcore.

Taking a lot of your post to heart. To not count on using potions is integral, and I like the idea of using enemies as health founts. I also like the idea of having an auto fire running while we just pay attention to our dodging. Kind of like a withering effect, eventually the big bad boss just shrinks and goes away.Having seen your hyda strategy in mind, I'm looking at redoing my bar for Belial, will use Turrent, and evasive skills like invisible and roll, perhaps I'll even give it a go in SC to see if it works.

Oh yeah, and tons of hp

:D

Hehe, that's why gear is the complete other half (maybe even 3/4ths :sweating: ) of any boss battle ;)
