Hooyaah 3,103 Posted December 10, 2020 In the mountains south of Hissil'Ta, just beyond and south east of the Temple, there is a Priest, a vendor of special mounts. I just found the video below which shows that there were some secret, hidden quests near the Mount Vendor Priest shown above. I searched this area quite extensively and found no such quests. 1
Flix 5,215 Posted December 10, 2020 A lot of those developer testing leftovers got cleaned up by the Community Patch. 1
desm 330 Posted December 10, 2020 (edited) Hi Hooyaah, I think I remember this quest has been removed by the CM patch because once you know it exists, it could be used as an exploit. Flix may confirm this if he remembers aswell. Edited December 10, 2020 by desm toasted :) 1
Hooyaah 3,103 Author Posted December 10, 2020 If these "quests" only occur one time per game, is it really an exploit? Or, might not you agree that is it a rather quirky and interesting feature or sort of reward or motivation for non-conventional exploration? It could have remained in the game, in my sincerely humble opinion. Little surprises like this may be welcome; once again, it serves as proof that there exists almost endless instances of such diversions to yet be discovered. 1
Androdion 900 Posted December 10, 2020 The interesting thing is that those mountains actually feature walkable terrain, as opposed to the unwalkable-teleport only terrain posted by Flix in that Pesmontis thread from yesterday. It'd be interesting to compile all of these little "leftovers" into a single topic, but if they're only available on Fallen Angel that should be a bit tricky no?! 1

I guess you could exploit them in multiplayer freeplay. 1
AnXiousZz 10 Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) I was wondering, which patch did this got removed? Also, has anyone found anything else hidden like that? Edited July 29, 2023 by AnXiousZz
idbeholdME 436 Popular Post Posted July 29, 2023 (edited) Probably as a cleanup and to save up some resources to drop down the file size of some script files. I remember there being an extra Abishai in the southern unpathable part of the jungle (south of Kral). And probably more, but I never explored the off-map stuff much. Hugging the edges of the map with extreme Visibility Range gear also reveals some quite interestingly textured terrain in several places. EDIT: Here is an example: If you actually walked there, the ground would actually have that texture on it. Edited July 30, 2023 by idbeholdME 2
Hooyaah 3,103 Author Popular Post Posted January 4 I'm curious as to whether or not this hidden, and mostly inaccessible, special mount vendor is still present in the game, while playing with the base game inclusive of the CM Patch. Of course, to locate this "hidden" Mount Vendor, one would, of necessity, be required to map-jump. I have been playing for quite some time with the Purist Fixpack and have been missing some of the elements which were present in the game, as augmented by the community. I am now starting to lean toward playing Sacred 2 with Vanilla Drops; this is because the plethora of Community-added items (from my perspective) makes it more difficult to obtain a full set of any specific armor, as there exists such a diverse variety of armors, totaling quite a vast number of pieces. To find other specific gear also requires more patience, as there is so much of it which may drop or be found at any given time. 2
Sethi22 271 Posted January 4 I tried Gandalf, I really did. But I failed. I couldn't even make the first jump. I've never seen this video before, and it would be interesting to get there, and compare the mounts bought there to the others, but it seems I lack the skill for this precise maneuver. Hope you get a better tester next time! The one in the jungle is there without a quest in CM patch. And the mounts bought there seem to have better stats on them. So that's where I go now. (In EE you have a quest there, to kill the mutated dragon, but in CM patch, you just walk there and buy your mount.) 1

Peter, if you peruse the post below, beginning with the fourth sentence of the first post, you will learn how to map-jump with a mounted High Elf. It's actually quite fun.
Sethi22 271 Posted January 5 (edited) I finally did it, and he was there. But this was in EE. Then I tried to disable EE and go back to CM Patch, but for some reason, the saves I had made a backup of before installing EE were not working any more. Maybe they would need a clean install. (And I'm not going to do that.) So there you have it, this is all I can confirm: He's still there in EE. (Who that running maniac in the bottom left corner is, I have no idea, somehow he intruded into my screenshot, must be some quest guy...) And the mounts he sold had exactly the same name and stats as the ones here, on the Island of Mounts. The ones you can get in the jungle have better/different stats: And look completely different: Edited January 5 by Sethi22 1
Maneus 275 Posted January 5 @Sethi22 I'm trying to figure out which of the two parameters from balance.txt is used as the base regen penalty for these types of mounts. By the looks of it, it is Mount_Regenburden_Warhorse (50%). But I can't be certain without knowing your character level and riding skill. I think your character is level 59 and you don't have the riding skill. Is that correct? But it is odd that the Wind Serpent uses the higher penalty (50%) and not the lower one (30%), since that is what I see in the images here https://www.sacredwiki.org/index.php/Sacred_2:Wind_Serpent

When you want to know the identity of a character or NPC, just press and hold the Alt key. Interestingly, sometimes Zaman simply appears outside of Sloeford and out of context for no readily apparent reason. I thank you for your report; I hope that you enjoyed your side trek. 1
