Ike [D.a.r.k.] vs. Sphenodon [Purple A.]

Well, what is there to say? I have never been a big fan of Sphenodon's, so I was amused to see his entire fleet on a colony 3 SS from one of my gated moons. He probed me once or twice a day, but I rarely use that moon anyway, so there was never much for him to see. But I phalanxed now and again to see if anything was going on.

 

Yesterday I saw on the oof that Sphenodon was looking for 40MM deuterium. I figured he was planning a hit or moving his fleet out. I saw cargo ships coming and going with obvious trades and then his fleet took off . . . on a 19-hour one-way journey back to his nearest moon.

 

What was more interesting was that he had 800 LC returning 3 hours after his fleet left. I knew he wasn't going to waste the deuterium to recall his fleet just for me, and if I waited, it wouldn't return in time anyway. Plus, with his entire fleet enroute, he didn't have any other ships that could intercept me in time, and if he tried I could just send more ships.

 

He came back online about 60-90 minutes before the hit and said:
