heh, I also read you description about the overwhelming odds and thought: "that ain't so tough"! then the next moment all are dead... But I'm really looking forward to playing with all of you! it looks like a blast! BTW lujate, I really like your soundtracks in all of your videos!

I just had to resurrect this thread a little... It was a tough series (apart from the 1st test where SA just ran away with the game a little), but the last test was a real cracker! I had some good sleep last night thinking that SA were on track to finish the game with about 100 runs to spare, but England surely gave us a run for our money! Take away one ridiculous run out and... had Strauss and Cook just got 10 runs each... add 15 runs to Bairstow and Swann at the pace they were going and.... but that's the nature of the game. Lots and lots of "If"s (just like COBOL ^^). But overall I'm proud of the boys - 11/11

I suppose we all know by now what we expect from each other as far as members of DM goes... so I suppose we just need to keep proper DM mentality in mind when inviting players into the FDM guild. I guess we have a lot to thank for Sacred in having such a great community, since I've never come across "I'm the best 1v1 player", "You're a noob", "Your build sucks", "I have the best gear" type of comments. Since Sacred only encourages actual game play and fun, it kept the egos in check. But I do suggest that we reserve Officer status to (active) DM members only. I'd hate to deposit a real gem of an item into the guild vault only to see some other guy take it out and (possibly) deposit into another guild they might belong to... in fact, I'm wondering how long after launch the words "Guild Farming/Trolling" will become a common term?

I voted vault 1st, but from what I read, the guild vault can hold op to 250 slots. so if Treasure Trove and Deep Cave each account for 100 of those slots, that means that the other 50 is the Guild Stash? this costs 2500 influence points opposed to 2100 for being able to purchase armour with the guild emblem on it. not much difference, but I think the vault would be the better option as a starting point. Plus taking the guild vault 1st would make available the Guild Workshop for 2 upgrades to be done at the same time and get the guild emblem upgrades done in double quick time...

I swear I read one of you guys posting something like that somewhere, but for the life of me I can't find that post anywhere at the moment.

I'm easy so what ever choice you guys make is fine with me. From what I see, there are 45 servers in total, right? And I imagine a minimum of 500K players at launch. That makes it a little over 10K players per server if spread out evenly. let's say there will be about 10 very low populated server with only 10% of world wide players. That makes it about 1000 players per each low pop server and if spread evenly within the 5 races, that's 200 players per starting area from the get-go.... take about half who actually go out into the world, I'm sure you'd end up in a group of about 20 players per renown heart early on? my figures are probably waaaaaay of... But if we take only 10% of this number (2 players around you at all times), then I don't even want to know what high populated server are going to be like!

I'll use up all my bandwidth right close to 28th on downloading this game (I still have to have some left for work), but of course all files are of different size so my estimate of #files remaining vs. download size remaining is just speculative. If there's less than 2Gb remaining when all of my allotted 20Gb is used up, then I'll just take the plunge. Then again... it still is a working week for me and I doubt that I'll get much work done if the game is there calling my name all the time! eeeeeddddgaaar!! just 15 miiiinuuuutesss..... just ooooone more leeeveelll.... just oooone eveeeent.... I just got news that I'll be working from home 4 days a week from next week onward! Just need to show my face at the office on Fridays!

started downloading the game today... after about 4.3Gb download I have 170K files remaining out of an initial 214K (IIRC). This means that I'm about 20% done and thus have about 18Gb to go... this makes me very sad indeed since I'm capped at 20Gb per month! I need to wait until the 1st of Sept before being able to download the remainder and get playing. It's only an additional 5 days, but still a bit of a sad situation. I'm on a 3G connection and buying and additional few Gb is just waaaaay too expensive. I think an additional 5Gb would cost me at least twice as much as my monthly 20Gb contract... so no deal. Sad faces all 'round, but perhaps it's a blessing in disguise since I'd be missing the main zerg (hopefully) in the starting areas. Then again, the 1st is a Saturday/zergday. :cry:

EDIT: removed ID - read lots of posts about hacked accounts. But, one most important thing I read was that Anet will never send you a mail requesting you to change you password, so be warned of 'em fishing mails.

I have no objections - I just hope the ping to the US servers will be good for me... It kinda suits me well, since I'd be playing mostly in fairly early hours US time! Not that I don't mind having a lot of other players around, I just don't want to end up with in a zerg most of the time. I just got my pre-order code, so I'm going to see if I can download the game!

unfortunately had to work today... (but not hard ) got a cake, with kinda brownish icing - I imagine all food colouring in the pantry was used - and cards from the kids. We're actually visiting family at the cost this week so tomorrow is gonna be some time spent at the beach!

Well it's been a while since I last played... I reached lvl30 but it's just all too competitive for me and lost a bit of fun factor. I could only play amumu really well and it gets boring playing the same champ over and over again. I had a good innings wil Lux, but if you don't get a ton of kills people start with their "noob" business and that's just nasty. So I might get one or two more games in before GW2 is released, but I doubt much more play after Aug 28!

Happy birthday!! ... and to me 37 today... so no need to feel old at all at the tender age of 28! My birthday gift is (will be) Guild Wars 2!

Nice videos once again guys! Unless just a trolling remark, I really can't see how that person would be such a pro in the game already since it's not even released yet! Dunno why people play if their only intent is to throw insults... I mean honestly, why?

all excellent videos lujate! I'm even leant towards a mesmer as my first character! I love the sounds (except "heath, vigour, recovery" could be toned down a little - perhaps 1 in 3 times you charge healing?). But otherwise very nice gameplay!

Well I'm just thinking what the best time is for the largest group to be awake at the same time. If the largest number of players hail from US, then NA servers would make sense. But if we have a reasonable amount of players that are from Aus, then EU might probably make more sense... What about a poll? EDIT: horrible grammar

So with the release date set and all of us soon to join swords in battle.... what server are we going to play on? The same server (which one?) that you lucky beta players have been running around on? I know hopping servers 1 or 2 times might not be an issue, but just for peace's sake is there an agreement on US or EU servers yet?

Heh, yup! I'm all green with envy about all the lucky fellers getting to play the beta, but soooooooon my preciouuuuus soooooon! 2 months to slurp in more videos and then, finally, I'll be able to have to real time action! I still have my mind set on a guardian (human or norn) as a first character... still pondering whether or not to play a female - goin' to spend so much time looking at my character's rear end, I might as well make it a little more pleasant to the eyes... Then again, I'm so used to playing my Seraphim, that not playing a female character will just seem kinda wierd? I initially had my release date prediction in May... but obviously that time has come and gone, but then I kinda leant towards the November/December release period, so I'm real excited that I'm going to have a great birthday month!!
