  1. It was a stupid build really... No toughness, no revered lore (shield was measly 6K!) only shields and constitution. If I need to redo it, this is the setup I would use: Magic: Concentration (level 75 mastery) Exalted Warrior Focus Revered Lore Revered Focus (level 75 mastery) Weapon: Ranged Weapons Tactics lore Utility: Enhanced Perception Bargaining (level 78-79 mastery) Defense: Armor Lore (1 point for a while) Warding Lore (lvl75 mastery) Attributes: All Vitality for more HP as backup. This is a bit squishy to start with, but it works. You get the HP from your shield and Absorption Warding Energy socketables. Your main priority is to level up Warding Lore, Revered Focus and Concentration. Basic buffs are BFG and Battle Stance for easy groups and BFG and Warding Energy when you need the HP. You need to survive till level 75 with that - afterwards it gets easy. You have more than 5k HP, more than 10k shield, big gun, and good bargaining.
  2. Toughness mastery boosted by all skills can easily push the DM to over 22% at higher levels.
  3. The answer is yes. Any char can support this build. As for the trash... this build is made only for boss hunting and set/unique/legendary item hoarding... If I want a trash killer, Fire HE or Inquisitor do a great job. However, trash mobs don't offer much in terms of drops. For your final question about EP - yes, why not. You may need to change the mastery order, but I'm sure you will end up with a good char. Besides, when you get plenty of items with sockets and strike a balance between all skills, xp per kill and MF it will pay off well enough.
  4. There you go http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?/topic/14752-a-comprehensive-guide-to-the-ranged-bosskiller-seraphim/ Choose the utility variation. The playstyle is very simple: buy LL% shuriken -> Kill Bosses -> Collect Legendaries.
  5. 2. Normal Life Leech (+XX) can appear on single handed Sword and Hafted weapons. Life leech +% appears only on Kaldur's Legacy Axe (hafted) which is a Unique item (S2I&B) or a Legendary item (S2FA). Another option is shurikens, but those can't be dual wielded - we don't have a ninja class here. 3. No. Both life leech mods appear without prerequisites. 4. Normally, 1 point is enough to unlock basic modifiers. Later on in the game, some modifiers require item lore mastery (for example Armor Lore, Sword/Hafted/Polearm, etc. mastery). Mastery in any of these lores grants higher boni on the respective mod.
  6. I am also away from the servers... Too much work as well. In any case, I may also make a reappearance sometime soon.
  7. Yeah seraphim with Kaldurs = "If you can't kill me in one hit, I'll be 200 before you know it" EDIT: Ah, Gogo, you wondermaker! I wasn't even aware that BM's fireballs can do that! Great action and a big spoiler there Gotta try it!
  8. Damage has a strong relation to resistances. Kobolds have really poor physical resistance and absolutely no ice resistance. If you went to fight enemies that have better physical resistance (or ice + physical), you damage will plummet down. I'm not sure how selecting another weapon will reflect BFG damage unless that weapon has any of these mods (innate or socketed): + Combat arts, + All skill, +BFG buff or something of the sort.
  9. In my opinion: 1. Best overall - Seraphim, hands down. Great damage mitigation, great combat arts allowing for every style of play. 2. Most powerful - Shadow Warrior. With LL% and well-thought out build, his damage will skyrocket.
  10. The answer is "too much". It's not only based on + all skills, it's also based on char level, because the damage mitigation bonus grows with item level. The game developers made sure we can't get immortal around level 100... although some characters can get very close to it.
  11. If he has 160 points in armor lore, for example, the mitigation will be around 10-11%, not 9. However, that means that stacked mitigation will be around 20-21% if he will luck out with 2x all channel on the same item. As for the gold socket, it's possible - but it's so rare to find stacked all channel damage mitigation, so it would take too much time to get one of these. In his place, I would settle for anything I find - even if that's a single-socket item. Still, anyone's free to play the game as they feel - but be aware that items with stacked All channel + 1 channel are rare... Items with all channel + all channel are 1 in 3 hours of shopping, provided you have lots of luck
  12. The card on the laptop is GeForce GT 540M 2GB, with nvidia optimus technology. This means when the laptop doesn't need the entire dedicated amount of memory of the vcard, it switches it to a shared vcard chip to save energy and thus money - or so they say
  13. He simply needs 2 things: 1. Armor lore mastery with lots of + All skills. All channel damage mitigation unlocked by armor lore mastery is related to the amount of points the character has in armor lore. 2. LUCK That's very much possible, but it takes a lot of time and I would personally settle even for 2 bronze sockets if I find one
  14. Right now I'm kinda vanilla, because I'm making a variation of the dual-aspect HE. IT would appear that the build has a very viable shopper version As soon as I hit a decent level, I'll add the findings to the forums. Anything interesting on CM, gogo?
  15. In my opinion, well-selected rare items can outweigh 90% of the set and unique items in this game. Shopped rare armors can show up with 2 sockets, +all skills, huge armor value and great modifiers, which can only be outweighed by a really good set or unique piece (like the 3-socket Holy Protection, Greaves of the Heirs, Armantin's belt and so on). Also, few character sets have decent overall set bonuses - for me, if it's not +all skills, damage mitigation or life leech +%, it's not worth it. So technically, if you have a good bargainer, and take your time to shop, you'll always find better stuff. I personally, would like to see a set or unique item that's better than a torso armor with + all skills, high-grade damage mitigation and 2 sockets, for example. Same goes for shoulders. As for the weapon, if you have a good shopper, the Officer's Saber is the way to go. Its 3 gold sockets can hold up to 3x +All Skills/+Combat arts socketables, which is downright awesome, and beats all other unique items in terms of usefulness for casters. If not, you can always go for Tinwora's curse, for example.
  16. Well... I started working on some new stuff right away... Deleted some old chars and started new ones on the spot right away I'll add some new findings these days
  17. Well, it's certainly better - new job, new opportunities, new acquisitions on the very first month... and around 2500 km closer to all the friends in Canada, Germany, and other EU contries I made here in the FDM I still can't help but wonder how pretty this game is. I just love the animation of HE's incandescent skin buff - the way she swirls all the leaves and stones lying around her in two different directions like a two-fold twister... Seraphim's buffs also look better, not to mention the SHINY new equip everyone gets... Or even the detailed new textures and flowing movements of the Nameless Guardians. Sheesh. That's what happens when you suddenly jump from playing on very low settings without PhysX to very high settings with PhysX, lol
  18. After a very unpleasant interruption, which lasted 4 months, fraught with uncertainty and numerous plights, Dobri's back to Sacred 2 with new drive and new determination The life in Germany's going well and I'm a proud owner of a new, relatively cheap laptop - nothing wicked: 2x2.3 Ghz, 8GB RAM, 2GB Video - that allows me to run Sacred 2 at decent settings and MY OH MY! After almost 3 years of playing this game, I finally found out that IT'S GORGEOUS! With PhysX, high graphic settings, Sacred 2 ROCKS!! So, you can expect plenty of new stuff from me now... You've been warned
  19. I would also go for Blazing Tempest and Radiant Pillar. Both have awesome damage and great post effects - BT burns, meaning more DoT, and RP weakens the enemies. Along with Hypnosis mod and fast Pillar casting, you can have a mindless mob of monsters playing pinball between the pillars, without a chance to swing at your character.
  20. Actually, gogo, they do look good - it's just too many of them stacked in the same place
  21. 1. You need to download the general 2.40 patch for your version (I assume that's UK), and then patch to 2.43. Currently there are S2FA servers running on 2.43 online. 3. No, unfortunately.
  22. The Sword of Blood Dryads is only useful if you play a WIDD-Y build - actually wanting to take damage in order to inflict more in return. It also has only 1 socket, so not much customization there. As for the Playerkiller - in my opinion this is a very poor sword with a very good name. First, Str +XX is a very bad modifier, as it's not adding much. +% would be better in the long run, and can easily be outweighed by +% Damage rune or ring. Chance to disregard armor is ok, but you can obtain such a socketable - Kuan's Curse ring, for example, is very common and easy to get. +Combat art skills is ok, but you can shop for a + All skills socketable, which outweighs the +Combat Art skills modifier on this sword. If you have the Pacifism skill, the bonus can also be obtained through +all skills and the measly +XX Attack value isn't much. So technically, if you shop for a single +All Skills/+% Damage ring, you just wasted a socket and nullified Str+XX, Pacifism +XX, Combat Art skills +XX and Attack Value +XX (as all skills adds to weapon lore, thus increasing Attack Value) modifiers of this sword. This is why I didn't include these 2 swords.
  23. I agree that's even better, but I wrote this guide with the clear vision that a player is just starting the game
  24. Actually, Slevin did the "hard" part too. He made a single-buff build, and he only used the Cleansing Brilliance Buff - no additional aspect support. This is what truly amazed me in his build - how simple, straightforward, Sacred 1-like and overpowered it was. I am completely sure this build easily ruled the Swamp area and its multitude of lucrative quests and other nice options. I have no way to check his build now, but I believe he also did it without using any utility skills.
  25. Celestial Seraphim is another decent option. I believe Slevin had a single-aspect Celestial seraphim available - Carla Jean, if I'm not mistaken. It was a pure over-protected (toughness, constitution, armor lore, shield lore, etc.), straightforward single aspect build (celestial lore/focus, CD, ancient magic), utilizing all Celestial Combat arts. The build was optimized for mass killing, with a single Radiant pillar worth over 25k damage per tick. Ouch
