IMO, for dedicated shopping sessions, the increased speed of never leaving Start Island makes a significant difference.

Why bother with Sloeford at all?

For attacking DW completely overwrites SWL, but it still unlocks weapon bonuses. There was a DW Boneslicer build that capitalized on that.

You don't have to leave Start Island. Port away and hit F8 as soon as the splash screen appears. You'll land back on Start Island with the merchants reset.

DAL normally gives a damage% for DA CA's. In the case of GI, it gives a HP regen bonus instead. I don't think people have really tried mastering DAL as a way to boost the defensive output of GI. I considered it recently, but decided to go for AL instead. Edit:

I run the GOG version without issue. The original commercial version ran, but it gave me a DRM error on startup.

Cooldowns are fixed and don't increase with runes. Regen increases with runes but sometimes it takes multiple runes before you see the increase. Just watch the regen. I know it's theoretically possible for seraphim Divine Protection duration to exceed the cool down, but I don't know about Cascading Shroud.

Yes, it works in HC as well. If your mount dies regularly, I think that's an indicator you're either too low level or need to improve gear.

Yes. In I&B, the Island in Dragonsea was repurposed for a different quest line. With CM, the two quest lines share the island

I don't think I've ever seen my HP drop below 0. My mount always died before then. Are you talking about horses or class mounts?

So the 180% armor bonus from AL trumps the 180% regen from DAL.

What version of CM? Can you just port from the world map?

The kobold captain isn't in the CM version. You can either talk to the normal captain or open the world map and just port to Christmas Island. If I can remember, I'll update the wiki tomorrow.

A couple of weeks ago, I got a craving for some Sacred 2 fire elf action. I dug out my old laptop and started playing an existing build. I'd like to say now that I have no idea what I was thinking with this build. APL 75 Conc 75 APF 75 CD 1 DAF 75 AL 5 SL 75 Cons 75 AM 75 DAL 1 My question is, what skill do I focus on next? AL is the obvious choice, but DAL increases the HP regen of GI. Thoughts?

This reminds me of an offline discussion from years ago. The topic was whether using a technique to duplicate items, and could be described as an exploit, was cheating in an offline game. I think the "cheat" camp would point to verb #5, possibly 6 or 4. For offline games, I say "To thine own self be true."

My first thought is a hardware problem, but that's just a WAG. Sacred 2 screenshots are saved in non standard format. I use GIMP to convert them. I seem to recall that IrfanView can also open them.
