  1. LOL! That's right. We were talking about this one at work. I totally agree with you on killing the series. Though, by the time Robert Vaughn joined the series it pretty much needed killing.
  2. Clash of the Titans: The original was a bit cheesy, but I loved it! I may check this one out. Nightmare on Elm Street: I think I'll have to pass. One of the things I liked about the original series is it's quirkyness. Freddy(at least by part three) had a sick sense of style. I hear tell that this version is all business: Just shock and gore. Iron Man 2: No brainer for me--Loved the first one. Robin Hood: Most likely a no. Prince of Persia: Looks cool to me. A Team: I'm torn on this one. I loved the series but these four are not Mr. T, Dwight Shultz, Dirk Benedick and George Peppard. Last Airbender: I loved the cartoon; watched it from start to finish. I'm all over this one! Harry Potter-Tron: Two no brainers there as well, though I'll see them after they come to video.
  3. I'm not too fond of these guys either. They are starting to get bold these days. The Los Angeles Times would call me several times a week but ask for only me. They would never talk to the wife and I would never take the call. I got in the habit of singing on the phone everytime I got one of those calls.
  4. Perhaps a little stand that matches the style of the left of the desk. I thought of wrapping the five legs under the desk to form a base for the computer but it does have to come out for cleaning from time to time.
  5. I'm not sure I got the scale of the computer quite right. It's Huge, but......
  6. I am not quite ready to let this thread die, mostly because I am having a ton of fun with sketchup and SU Podium. They are a great combination once I took the time to learn how to use them. Here is an updated version of the desk. I made some changes to make production a bit more simple and also add some functionality. You won't notice most of the differences here but I attempted to add my computer to the picture. Another shot Side view....nothing new yet. Our first change. Added a slot for cable management. The solid panel is now hollow for better wire management. A powerstrip will be mounted under the desk with the cable going through the hollow wall and out through here. All things considered, I think I am better off putting the computer on the floor.
  7. Cool video. At least we know one cool thing made it over from S1. I look forward to crop circles of gore.
  8. Your work is continuing to evolve....It just keeps getting better.
  9. It serves almost no function at all. It was all about style. When I was planning it out I wanted something that would be sturdy, but also have a ton of open space for wire routing. The original plan called for three panels and 5 support beams holding the desktop, which was 36 inches as opposed to the 42 inch width of the desk. This design was born out of a problem with sketchup where adding the last panel would complete the faces between the beams. After I looked at it I decided that I liked it better. A few things I should mention: I put glass in for the top mainly because I was excited about the free rendering plugin--the real desk will be using wood. The back panel is actually in the wrong place. I wanted the open end of the desk to go to the right. The entire design could be built with about five 2"x4"x8's and a few 1"x4"x6'
  10. Okay, I've finally achieved some skill in sketchup. Still having problems in some areas. Even managed to find a free renderer plug in. So here, is my desk.
  11. Most snacks serve the same purpose for me: they are simply clever ways to get sour cream from the bowl to my mouth. But you can't get much easier than pizza rolls....and they taste great with sour cream.
  12. Just a quick question. Has anyone been successful at exporting from sketchup into blender? I failed.
  13. You know, I do well with programs like Excel, Word, Access. I can cross over to the other half of my brain and use Photoshop/Paintshop pro. I just can't seem to make those modeling programs work. I was so lost in google that I finally erased it. I have a spread sheet where I drew out my dream desk, along with some 3d concepts of it; perhaps someone will want to model it for me........ Now, this desk was my original idea, but I changed it and that was when things started to go wrong. My second attempt will actually become the work bench for when I actually build my real desk. Now how do I add a file? ------------------------------------------------- Okay, I just don't know what my problem is. On a whim, I downloaded the latest version of sketchup(after watching a few minutes of a video tutorial) In moments after the install I was creating complex 3D shapes. I'll show my dream desk in a day or two.
  14. Lol, very cool. I still remember the rat I saw with the sinister predator buff on. Guess he did not realize that it was useless without a bow. Such a shame that we can't cast our buffs on NPC's
  15. I've seen Monty Python & the Holy Grail somewhere between 17 and 21 times if I remember correctly. Laughed until I cried every single time. They are making a remake of Karate Kid? I'm sure they would ruin it. His trainer taught him a few basic moves in a short amount of time. I'm sure that in updated version would have him going from wimp to Goku in under a month.
  16. Now that was a chair! You know, the ability to laugh at yourself is a great thing..... and....two out of three ain't bad.... I can cook/bake--putting the wife and many others on both sides of the family to shame. I've been told that I have a gift when it comes to story telling. My building skills.....ahem.... Like I said, two out of three. Took a trip to Homedepot and got myself a truck-load of wood. Had a plan and even whipped up a spreadsheet that calculated how much of each cut I would need. I had visions of...well it's hard to describe but it sure looked cool in my mind. So this afternoon I trashed what I had and used my remaining boards to make a basic table. Have to sand and finish it yet. I'm thinking that I'll have another go in a month or so and give that one to the kids. I just hope I am not reaching too far again. What I am going for this time is simple with only four basic parts. There are two legs, each being two frames sandwiching a wooden panel. The back piece is similar. There will be quite a bit of open space in the rear though as the back panel is only half the height of the desk. The top is constructed much the same was as the sides and back. Now the problem with the design is that the table top will be roughly 36 inches wide while the total width of the desk is closer to 40 inches. I will have to use something sturdy to hold up the desktop, but it will have to be thin as I want the maintain the feel of the desktop floating. I was considering closet rods with some sort of braces under the desktop to hold it in place.
  17. I'm starting to think that it was one of the impostors; perhaps the second one. The real Lee would never stoop so low. There were fake bruce lee's running around? I once read an article about the Bruce clones. The first was brought in to finish (forget what movie) He did look like the original to a point. I think Bruce lee is a bit darker and certainly more muscular. I believe there was another who came along who looked much like the first replacement. Then there were the parade of guys calling themselves Bruce to cash in. My personal favorite was Dragon Lee who had to be around 4'9" but hugely muscular. He was famous for his nunchuk-like weapons that only had one stick on a long chain.
  18. I'm starting to think that it was one of the impostors; perhaps the second one. The real Lee would never stoop so low.
  19. I was talking about cheesy kung-fu movies with a buddy at work and remembered a Bruce Lee flick where he was a homeless guy who thought that he was a cat. He fought quite well but he also meowed. Anyone remember that one? I have to find the name.
  20. Had a doctor's appointment today. The scale read 200.00. Dropping pounds during the Christmas holiday? Sure did! 20 pounds from my goal!
  21. I'm broke now; waiting for payday until I buy the wood. My design has changed somewhat, and I am going for a very simplistic design. Let me see if I can describe it.... First let's start with the side panels. We have a solid panel of wood sandwiched between two E-shaped dealies. The points are pointing up and extend a bit beyond the panel they are holding. The back panel is similar except that there are horizontal pieces that extend past the sandwiched panel and attach to the frame of the two side panels. So what we have a three large E's, turned on their sides connected in a U shape with open space between them. The desk top rests on the fingers which also leaves free space. There will also be a keyboard tray. The original designed called for three teeth on the side, similar to my Smilodon case, but I am happier with this. No drawers or storage, just my computer and(what I hope will be) an awesome desk. I have allowed for a moderate sized piece of sheet metal in the budget that was going to serve as accent in a few places. Not sure if I will still do that, but I still may.
  22. I don't have much to add except that Sacred 2 crashed badly on my rig once I installed win7. Compatibility mode did solve the problem, but as far as I know you need win 7 ultimate for the pleasure of running older programs. Now I am trying to save my pennies to afford ultimate when my version expires in June.
  23. Right now I have both computers set up on one of those built-in desks you can get as an option from home builders. The problem is that it is way too high and you have to stand up. Kind of hard to have Sacred 2 marathons when my knees are hurting. I've been pricing desks, but always run into two basic problems: cheap quality(not solid wood) or mega expensive. Even for a basic pine desk with no extra's. So I guess I'll just have to build one myself. What we are going for here is a basic desk. It will have to fit in a small space so we are going 36 inches wide and the standard 24 inches deep. The desk is short enough that I won't require a keyboard drawer but it will have a monitor stand with a cubby hole underneath. I am also doing an interesting treatment to the outside of the desk. As for the finish. I am torn between the traditional(stain followed by several coats of Tung oil) and something more risky(metallic paint) Of course I have the wife to please and she may be put off by anything too strange in the bedroom. I'll put up some pictures when I am done--should start the project close to new year.
  24. Out of curiosity, how do you increase the mobs and does it affect MP?
  25. It depends. No Ice & blood? a couple more months. If I buy the expansion, then until S3 comes
