  1. You need to revert it to vanilla to grab a copy, since the patch installation replaces it with the smaller version. Then you reinstall the patch and copy-paste the old physxExt file to keep the entire array of PhysX effects.
  2. Shadows flickering? Yeah, do a clean reinstall.
  3. Win 10 deletes temp files on each reboot? Oh, that's news to me and probably an event that could cause some issues with older software. Try finding a way, an OS setting, that lets you configure that behaviour to your own accord. As in, turning it off.
  4. You can use the trimmed elite textures even without the CM Patch, though with it you can be mostly bug free. There is lag in Griffinborough with elite textures turned on, but with the trimmed version it runs mostly smooth. And Flix also released a main screen mod that can let you customize it to your liking. Sorry for not providing any links, I'm on my phone. Check the download section.
  5. Maybe Hooyaah can give some insight as he is a Win 10 user, I have no idea about what's happening there. Sorry... PS: It's probably a bad idea to kill the process manually as it's a system process.
  6. That's weird, but then again I'm not a fan of Win 10 to begin with. Have you tried performing all system updates and rebooting, then launching the game again? Just a wild guess, I'm not very familiar with that OS behaviour.
  7. If you haven't created new characters chances are you're going to find issues like that. There were changes implemented in that quest so it's possible that it has become broken. Starting a fresh toon is recommended with every iteration of the CM Patch. I normally don't as well, I can sympathise, but these are actually useful to read as to understand some of the alterations made. You can skip the parts where it says that "stuff was added" and read only the important information.
  8. It's a feature, press SHIFT+Left click to separate the stacked runes. This has been said quite a few times and it's written in the patch release notes.
  9. Well, I have created a monster! I'm on the verge of finishing Platinum but that difficulty is already a breeze! I can do Guardian runs with ten levels of difference between me and them (I'm at level 89 now) and pretty much kill each Nameless Guardian with... two Frenzied Rampage casts. Yes, just two. Between the mage staff and the secondary fist weapon with %LL (which can be bought with a bargainer, hurra!), the certain chance to hit opponents and a deathblow level of as little as around 50% I can get every boss down in a matter of seconds. Asmarael dropped with just enough time to summon a giant spider, the Forest Guardian dropped so fast he could only cast one healing spell, Dragon bosses go down like butter... I mean, even though I already knew that Grim Resilience+Reflective Emanation was a winner I never knew the SW could have such a huge firepower! And the Nether Allegiance summons don't make it any easier for the enemies as well, since they're now at level 130 with 100 runes eaten (around level 57). And since everything is based around regen per hit there are no penalties that can't be beaten. Seriously, this build is a serious contender for a Glacial Thorns HE "fastest killer award", and I don't even have Combat Discipline in the skill set! Imagine if I did...
  10. Ha ha, I get what you're saying. I've played like that for years, now I'm doing the whole supporting toons thingy.
  11. Sounds like there's probably some missing libraries, but no idea on how to know which specific ones. Maybe try a clean reinstall to see if there's any alterations?
  12. Yeah, what I meant was that the third party program acts out like an in-game game speed slider. Thanks for the input but it feels to me that it won't be my thing since it'll demand more of me, and since I usually surf around Ancaria late at night it's probably better to do it at regular speed.
  13. Oh, do bear in mind that that's an implementation bug and can be considered an exploit. We ran through a similar thing during development with the SW Killing Spree bonus as it would stack in the same way. I'd say it's best to avoid it as it can become a game changing exploit.
  14. I'm also interested in this, how does it actually work? Is it like an in-game slider that allows you to adjust game speed so everything will be at a faster pace? How can you play at higher difficulties and micromanage with 5x the game speed?
  15. Hey Btmr, welcome. If you go to the character inventory there's a sigma sign on the right end of it near the gear you're wearing and the penalty bar, hover over it and go to the last lines. You'll see your "chance to find valuables x%" which indeed increases with a higher percentage of discovered map, as well as a bigger Survival Bonus (the bonus you get from getting alive out of fights, hover over your level indicator). Like Lacr said lower levels are a bit slower as mobs give less XP and gold, items have lesser bonuses and so on and so forth. Depending on the build and your supporting gear you can finish Silver and Gold very easily, though if you're a new player I'd recommend you to take your time and not rushing just yet through difficulties. Keep levelling for a while until you feel confident enough with your build. And please do realize that early game in Sacred 2 is pre-mastery, so that's about the first 75 levels on your character. Just keep going and try getting your way around the main campaign bosses. If you can't find %LL weapons try equipping +LL per hit, try casting debuffs on the bosses that can help bring it down, adjusting damage levels and that's pretty much it. Bosses scale very intensely with level and difficulty level so you'll find that when you get to higher difficulties trying to bring them down without a serious caster means that you need that +%LL weapon. Right now you're having troubles with two of the most serious bosses on the game so I wouldn't think too much of it. My Platinum SW couldn't even kill the Ice Hydra without a +%LL weapon at that difficulty, I'd just see my HP bar blinking over and over again so you can see how tough that boss is. And this is running a Grim Resilience/Reflective Emanation build. I think that doing mini-bosses at Silver isn't really necessary but feel free to explore anyway. Just don't expect to be able to bring everyone down easily in Silver. As you traverse to Gold and especially to Platinum you'll notice that your character will start having a better performance and that your gear will become much better as well. Take your time with the game but keep a certain pace and get over to the next difficulty when you feel confident to do so. This game is all about balance really. Oh, and when you look at all those "hey I can get the Guardians down in three or four hits" topics you need to bear in mind that that doesn't happen in Silver. They're usually really high level toons.
  16. Except I usually play with a Delphic HE, which requires a bit more of investment in skills to be able to kill and survive. I'd reckon that an Ice/Fire HE would be able to stand its ground with a general skill being kept at character level, but from my experience a Magic Coup HE requires a lot of investment. And it's a curious timing that you have as I just finished the latest step in my ladder last night. Got to Platinum and my new shopper has level 70 and nearly 200 points in Bargaining, between +All Skills/+Bargaining/+General Skills bonus from sets and jewelry. And somehow I feel like the 70 million in gold aren't nearly enough! Truth be told I've spent around 8 million just to equip that bargainer and the new toon that will go into Niobium, so that's that. I'll need to keep the Platinum shopper well fed on rare items to be sold. Maybe do some more Platinum Guardian runs with my SW Smith, ha ha. Anyway in terms of character development the DM can definitely hold its ground with Bargaining as the first skill, though it's pretty much a slow burner. Mentalism, like Chattius said, becomes progressively more effective and more powerful, and the life leeching Pole Arms give it a helping hand for bosses and CA regen (per hit). It's just that it isn't as immediate as other builds I've played, it's very noticeable that the ascending curve in terms of the ratio level/power is being travelled. It's different but fun as well. Right now the plan is to raise to level 100 and finish Platinum, stash enough gold (hopefully) and park the last shopper at level 100 in Niobium. After level 100 and with Bargaining, Mentalism Lore, Mentalism Focus at character level I can then focus properly on mastering other skills to attack Niobium. We'll see how it goes but so far it's still going well.
  17. Windows 7 x64 here. It's not an area related issue as well since I'd always get crashes on the Cursed Forest with PhysX turned on and now I don't. In fact the last couple of days I've been doing the Cursed Forest with my Dragon Mage Mentalist and I've done more than enough to crash it without any luck. There's this part when you reach the field of the Constructs where you have these small "charging stations" that heal the Constructs right? I've gone to the point of rallying 30 to 40 constructs around two of those, which heal each other so I can't kill anything in that spot, and started casting Energy Blaze over and over again. You can imagine the load it was on my system, to the point that my frame rate went to hell and that never happens in this game. Smooth as silk. So in short, yes I'd argue that it's a system specific issue.
  18. What I find extremely weird is that you're having memory leaks at all. The fact that you mention 95% of 8GB of memory allocated in-game also baffles me because users have for years reported crashes and instability when the game allocates less than 2GB, so if the game crashes with such a low amount in comparison how can it run when it's using that much? Know what I mean?! I've been running the game with PhysX and Elite Textures ever since 1.60 development began and I can run it flawlessly, though each specific system will have variations of course. What I'm trying to say is that it seems like the problem is solely on your end and not a problem caused by the game or the patch malfunctioning. As a side-note I never had PhysX crashes during the development fase of the patch, but after installing a new driver version I can have a random CTD due to a specific PhysX library, though it has happened I think a couple of times in a month and a half where I've been playing almost on a daily basis. So mileage does vary, but all things indicate that the problem should be in your system somehow.
  19. You never noticed it before? I thought that grave message was of common knowledge by now given its location!
  20. Maybe you have some kind of malware on your pc? I don't think Sacred 2 can ever use that much memory, though I'm not 100% sure.
  21. I will say, that's a very curious skill set you got there! I can see the endgame with that build but I'd be very curious to understand the mechanics of playing with it from level 1.
  22. Is that with the EP toon you mentioned? Can you grab a snapshot of its stats on sigma/skill set? It seems like its making a difference.
  23. You should uninstall 1.50 with its own uninstaller first, then you can install 1.60 and it should work fine. If you have the game installed in a system directory (program files or that sort of folder) you should install it somewhere else. If nothing works out try a clean install of the game followed by the installation of 1.60 to see how it goes.
  24. After a few gear upgrades courtesy of all the set pieces I've been getting and a redesigned balance on my SW I can now do Platinum runs on the Guardians, without my heart ticking too fast that is! And boy what a difference from Gold runs. Even though I just got to level 80 and the Guardians are lv.96 the amount of gold/XP/gear is just crazy. Since I get through the portal on Start Island and start a bit before the chamber I can encounter a lot of foes, so between that spot and the egg I can get as much as 700k of XP with a couple of mentor pots and over 1M in gold, per run. Between that and the ratio of rare to less-than-rare loot I can say that this is my new favourite grind spot right now, and it's definitely much better (read: faster, more rewarding) than the Orc Cave. Be sure to withstand Platinum Guardians though, otherwise it's probably not a good idea to do these runs. I think that Hooyaah and her GT elf lady should have a nice place to grind here.
