  1. I hate you! *shakes fist* Anyway, gogo, you have to play as well, this game is even better than Ogame and less time consuming, or at least until now. Plus as you can see I'm already doing my best on cracking the way the game's mathematical system works, just like with OGame. [mind control]Gogo, play Imperia Online now![/mind control]
  2. Centalization level 1 on the way as well as 500 archers. All planned out for best resource production efficiency as all the resources needed became available at the same time ^_^.
  3. Meh, I grew up watching Next Generation so the idea of the old series leaves me kinda cold. =/ (though Spock was pretty funny) Basically from the way I see it the captain of Enterprise must be Jean-Luc Picard. So I'll probably pass on this two movies.
  4. Your point is correct as well. However at the time at which the 300 archers I don't think it's possible for one to have both horses and siege weapons and one would have plenty of time to improve his defenses or build a decent attacking army, depending on the style of gameplay chosen, which both should keep invading armies at bay. Then again there is one more thing to take into account: whether you started at the same time with the others or not. If that one is true then your defense is pretty much invincible at the current stage and you should probably be ahead of at least 90% of the players. If it's not true then there might be a problem as players who have about 140 points are in your 2x point range and there is a chance for some of them to have both horses and siege weapons. Also instead of building archers one might chose to build swordsmen and just go raiding.
  5. Even more research done by me... This time it's something that I found intriguing. From what I noticed population is by far the most important "resource" in the game. Basically at the moment my growth is limited by my population as I have quite a lot of empty work places (about 5000, though ~1200 citizens are producing gold). Well, since the formula for population growth was something like 30+population/1000+bonuses, the advantage of a new colony is obvious, for 500 citizens you get an extra growth of 30+ citizens. All this made me calculate the earliest point at which you can build a colony. In my case I'm going to have a colony when I reach 20 points which is good considering that my calculations have shown that one can get a colony by the time they have 17 points if they use all resources 100% effectively and time their buildings and researches perfectly. Also you can get a second colony and bureaucracy level 4 with just under 35 points. Just before reaching 45 points one would have level 1 fortresses in all provinces as well as the resources to train 100 archers for all 3 of them. 300 archers would raise the points by 27 up to a total of ~72. Thus no one in your point range would be able to raid you succesfully and you would have a huge advantage due to the 2 colonies as well as being way ahead of almost all the players that started at the same time you had. Also from this point one can chose any path be it military or economic and become very powerful easily. Now, my calculations and my experience playing up so far have shown me that this strategy is perfectly feasible and that the available population is used to its full potential. However as I said at the start of the post I found something intriguing. I checked hundreds of players (forgot the number but I passed 1000 in the player list) with points in the range of 20-75 and what I found was: -very few had a colony -the lowest score of a player with a colony was 66 -none had a second colony So my question is, am I the only one that noticed the advantage of population growth boost brought by colonies early on? Or are the players in my realm just not that good? Or is it that my strategy is just flawed and impractical due to some reason?
  6. My progress update: Farm - 5 Lumber - 8 Iron - 3 Stone - 2 Granary - 5 Shooting Range -2 Fortress - 1 University - 2 Architecture - 2 Medicine - 1 Trade - 1 Academy - 1 So according to my calculation by this time tomorrow I should have the funds necessary to research centralization, range attack and hire 500 archers for a colony. So my question is: 2 days and a half to construct the first colony, is it a good performance or should I improve on that the next time I play to gain a bigger advantage? EDIT: Did some more thinking on this and I believe that I might reduce the time to 2 days if I don't research trade next time and if I change the order of some researches and buildings such as: - increasing university and architecture levels earlier - constructing higher level buildings later - researching medicine as fast as possible
  7. Lol, if by the big man you mean gogo then I can asure you there's no problem with me starting an alliance since after all D.a.r.k. started as a joint project between me and gogo, though in the end I had to leave due to rl issues. Hmm, I did read up about alliances as in requirements and benefits, but I missed the voting part. So I guess that it would be a good idea for whoever gets to 150 points first once the realm restarts to create the alliance. As for the guys that have the Dark Matter as alliance name that's not really an issue since our alliance name will be D.a.r.k. anyway. If you like talking about the game then I'll guess I'll just keep pestering you with questions. And I'm probably going to convince gogo to play imperia as well eventuall so that he may as well ask you questions. And believe me, he can ask a LOT of questions. I know since I had to answer all his OGame questions back in the days.
  8. Why not? All it takes is to visit 2 links. Only possible reason that comes into my mind now is a firewall blocking your access to those links, but that might not be it.
  9. Damn, I'm not that good at this kind of abstract, hidden-meaning texts. >_> So what's the moral? Sometimes one will have no other choice but to repeat a mistake until finally being able to avoid it?
  10. Americans never stop amaze me.... While claiming that a unicorn was driving your truck while youre drunk and/or stoned might not be counted as absurd, still claiming the same thing after sobering up definetly is.
  11. The rates are wood - 0.5; iron 2.42; stone - 0.95 Also thanks for answering all my questions. I know its probably anoying to answer the same thing over and over again to different people but I'm doing my best to learn as most as I can on my own and knowing from my past experiences I'm probably going to stop asking for advice pretty soon. I'm a fast learner, especially when it comes to things that I'm interested in. And another side note, once I get in your realm I'm reservint the rights on starting the alliance called D.A.R.K. there. ^_^
  12. I have no idea what era it is. =/ How do I find that out? Hmm, I guess I'll still be able to play with you guys in the same realm when I get back from vacation. Also it's a good thing I started testing this game first as I just realised that I made a mistake. Researching trade at this stage was a bad idea as taking into account trade ratio, comission and worker productivity, selling resources would give me 0.38 gold per citizen while keeping citizens unassigned would earn me 0.44 gold per citizen. So that means that trade is only usefull if you can get the comission low enough or if you raid other people a lot, both of which I can't do at the moment. Oh well, now I know.
  13. 3 days later? Damn, in that case for how many days after a realm restarts are new players allowed to register for it? I already found the bonus resources option, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to build all that. As for medicine I don't have enough resources to trade for that amount of gold yet. Also the game says that they changed the system so that: Yet when I look at the empire report it shows a production of only 4 per 100 citzens. So you're saying that all regions are the same for every player in your realm? Strange cause I checked the regions of other players here and they're all different. Only thing in common is province #8.
  14. Well, the game is good I think. Everything is pretty well explained in the manual as well as in the ingame descriptions. Also by reading the forum and playing a bit with the battle simulator I believe I have an idea of what a good army should be like. Starting is a bit slow as from what I seem at the current point I can't do much else than hire workers from time to time until my population grows as increasing my buildings levels any further for now would be pointless due to lack of labor force. Also I think that until my population grows it's better for me to just save up on resources to make sure that I don't spend them on something that might prove to be a mistake. On a downside it seems that the region the game has generated for me has a big disadvantage as all the mountains with forest provinces are on the edge of the map and from what I read having a boxed in forested mountain as the main base provides a great advantage in gameplay later on. But I guess I'll just have to settle for what I have now.... Also by the fact that the era ends on the 5th next month does that mean that the game restarts on the 5th or on the 6th? Since I will be available on the 5th but not on the 6th as that's when I go on vacation abroad for about 10 days or so. So if it starts on the 5th I can still play a bit and then set my accout on vacation mode which even thogh it stops resource production it doesn't halt population growth.
  15. Lets see what I did in 6 hours of gameplay. Farm - 5 Lumber - 7 Iron - 2 Stone -2 Granary -5 Fortress - 1 University - 1 Architecture - 1 Trade - 1
  16. Right, started a game in realm 9 to get the hang of it. So far I only have one question related to the online time thingie. EDIT: figured it out, nvm. Oh, and also what realm are you in?
  17. Nice to see you again as well. ^_^ Damn you did well! Heh, you increased the account value by more than a million points. It's sad to hear that the universe is dieing though.
  18. Tried the first one and got bored. I found it to be way too slow and also way too few players. Lowsy remake of atomic bomberman imo.
  19. LOL @ "Barbie effect" Anyway, good thing I recently bought a new pc.
  20. I found it to be overrated, just like all other movies of its genre (Gladiator, Troy, Alexander, etc). Overall it was decent but I guess that not watching it wouldn't have been a loss.
