  1. Storing your items - In your personnal stash Your personnal stash is a black and blue chest you can find in many locations, principally towns, populated or not. It's a magical box. Whatever you put in it is available everywhere in the game. This stash is available only for one character on your account, that is to say that the objects one of your characters puts in can't be picked up by another character. If you want to trade items between two of your toons, you must give them to it directly, or via a friend that would help you in a multiplayer game. There are also some possibilities to mule (that's the word) items offline. See the section below for muling instructions. - On another character The best way to keep items is to dedicate a character to hold them. That's muling. In single player, you must play with your savegames to do so. In multiplayer game, you can exchange directly form a toon to another. See the guides about mules here [note to myself] add links to guide when ready Back to TOC - Next article
  2. Getting rid of the useless One of the problem in sacred (and many other rpg/h&s game) is that the inventory is quickly full of items. It's time to learn how to get rid of unwanted things. - Sell to a merchant : The most logical way to get paid for the hours spent bringing peace back to Ancaria (or minutes, because we must admit that it's possible to fill your inventory with one hit sometimes. You can't believe it... just unleash the power of a high level greedy dwarf with full Thar Eros and high far sight in silver creek and enjoy !) - Give it to someone else : Money is NOT a problem in Sacred. So instead of selling everything, offer items to other players. That frees up some room in your stash, this helps, and a « Thank you » is worth all the gold of the world. In Hardcore mode, it is usual and appreciated to offer some equipment, gold and some runes to a starting character. This doesn't cost anything to a high level character, but starting with some rune, 10% of life leech and some defense can help a lot, especially in a mode where death is not a convenient way to travel to the starting island. And who knows, maybe this beginner will be the one who will give you the missing piece of your set. But as far as you can in multiplayer, for server stability, try not to leave hundreds of objects on the ground. Sell them, or if your alone on a server, leave and re-enter. The server will reset, and lag will be gone. Full Thar Eross dwarves have no excuses. The last bonus on the set allows them to sell on he battlefield. Back to TOC - Next article
  3. How to get items As in every Hack'n slash game, there are several way of getting items. - Merchants : You can buy anything from them except : Set and unique items, runes and mentor potions. - Drops : Monsters often leave an item on the ground when they die. Any monster can drop any object (from normal item to unique and from potion to rune). Your chance of getting better items from them is influenced by your magic find percentage. - Magical hides : Magical hides are here, all over the world of Ancaria, but as their name says, they do not show at the first glance. By looking more carefully to the landscape, you can sometimes see a little spark, coming from an element of the land. Here it is. Hover the mouse at the exact location you saw the spark, and the cursor will turn to a hand. One hide give one item to every player in the game. - Chest, Barrels and friends : All over the world, chests, barrels, book stands, crates can give you items or gold when opened. Note : Wells give a healing potion to every player in the game in 99.9% of the case (I can't assume the 100% probability, as I already got nothing from wells). Same remark as for magical hides. Make sure to open every container. I recently drop the Shell for the icon set from the barrel near the merchant in Bellevue near Romata. - Quest reward : By finishing a quest, rewards are random. You can get gold, xp, random runes, a random piece of set. Even doing the same quest twice doesn't result in the same reward. You may have a rune first, and just gold the second time. - Trading between players : Only available in multiplayer games. You can give and get items to/from players. - Easter Eggs : Some items can be found by doing a special quest, killing a monster or going to a hidden place. These objects are easter eggs, as they are out of the main quest and most of time are tributes to movies, books, or whatever (I.e. The Battered Machete, right from Friday the 13th). - Disarming Foes : The skill "Disarm" allows the player to make an enemy drop its weapon on the ground during the fight, in addition to the normal kill drops. One more item to be sold. The Battle Mage Whirlwind spell also disarms (Thanks to Schot for pointing that out). Take a WW BM, a full Thar Eros Dwarf and a full Dalmar Glad and you got a money machine trio (WW BM disarms, Full dalmar Glad got a chance to drop gold on hit directly in the wallet, and Thar eros dwarf can sell items on the battle field, did I already say that money is NOT a problem in Sacred ) Back to TOC - Next article
  4. Gameplay - General Sacred is a fast paced Hack'n Slash. As in all PC Hack'n Slash, you maneuver your character by pointing and clicking on the screen. A good left-hand dexterity is also nice to have, because you'll have to use the keyboard to switch between your combat arts, drink a potion and chat (if you play multiplayer). Gameplay is different if you play single player (campaign) or multi (hack'n slash), as campaign mode offers more exploration of the world. However you can explore the world in Hack'n Slash mode, but as no main quest shows off, I'm sure you'll prefer stay in a narrow cave, slaying mobs over and over, you little b........, sorry, you, fellow player ! 5. Difficulty levels There are 5 levels of difficulty in Sacred. Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum and Niobium. But either you play single or multiplayer, prerequisites to reach each of those are different. In single player, you must finish the campaign in silver to gain access to gold, finish gold to get to platinum, and finish platinum to get into niobium. You don't need to finish bronze to reach silver as you can start directly in this difficulty level. In multiplayer, accesses are player level related. Here is the list : - Bronze : 0-60 - Silver : 20-100 - Gold : 60-140 - Platinum : 100-180 - Niobium : 140+ Understanding that is important for people who wants to mule items as a level 1 mule won't be able to join a game if a level 141 character wants to give it items. The level 1 mule can only access Bronze, and a level 141 character can't join a game easier than platinum. You need two mules to cover all the difficulty levels. One must be level 60 to cover from bronze to gold, and the other must be level 140 to cover from gold to niobium. Quick Jump to muling guides (same window - new window) Back to TOC - Next article

  7. Introduction to the guide This guide is intended to everybody. Of course, veteran players won't need to read it from A to Z, but I hope everybody will find, at least, one article that is of interest. I will try to cover most of the aspects of the game throughout these pages, sometimes giving my own conclusions about topics, sometimes just summing up articles found all over the web. The Final goal of this guide is to give all the cards to a beginner for him/her to go Pro. But not giving him a click by click guide to power, but a guideline to power, by explaining how it works, and why he should take this option and not that one. Stop reading this stupid introduction, the best is in the following chapters. Move on ! Back to TOC - Next article

  13. Wowwww great job. Therion, I got a challenge for you. May you make a comic with this as a scenario (sacred related). Player X is talking to a dwarf Playerx : Hey, Bilbo is in da house ! Huhu Dwarf : Pool ! (like ball trap) (Recoil - Cannon Blast combo). I think it would be very cool to have some lils fanarts on a topic. Lil one page comics around Sacred with lil scenarii everyone could imagine. I gave a try, but my drawing talents are really really limited lol. Dare you take this challenge Therion ? Thanks by advance.
  14. Losers, just one these guys alone beats em all ! Guess who !
  15. Huh, my answer will be morbid.... I always fear something really bad will happen to my wife or son. Like a car crash or so... kind of paranoia. Sure this gives me chills... Next one : What's your favorite pizza topping... no just kidding. Who would you give your last buck to ? hope I'm understood.

  17. Night person... and to play online games where the majority of the people still online is american, that helps. But life forces me to be a morning person. Nature will take her place again someday ! My turn. What do you prefer : Loving someone who doesnt' love you, or being loved by someone you don't ?
  18. Ok I gave "Shifting" a go yesterday. Schot is absolutely right. Standing in front of a melee skelly. taking 40 dmg per hit (bronze, level 12 char and a level 19 skelly) Shifting in front of the same melee skelly. Taking 1-2 sun dmg per second here's a shot, caught in action as the vampire was dodging the blow. My vamp makes a quick back step to avoid the hit. Enjoy !
  19. Chapter 2 : Orc Cave "Well. No need to say that I'm like scared about getting to OC with my poor fighting experience. Two of my old friends fell to the horde of ancarian monsters. I'm not in a trusty state of mind, but I must give it a try, this is the test my master gave me. I have to cross the desert, under the hottest sun I ever saw ! I hate sun. After a good undead exorcism serie, I finally made my way to OC. a last check to my inventory, full of red and blue pots. Ok, let's enter ! First encounter is a level 18 orc fighter. Thanks to the occlusion of the cave, it's always midnight in there. Just one ripping claw and the orc is down. May have been lucky ! Second encounter, same result. I'm full of energy at the moment, my fist are glowing bright red. The real challenge is right in front of me, The champion with 2 archers, runaway archers. They keep shooting me, no way to make them switch to melee. They're driving me deeper and deeper in the cave. Some other baddies over there, a trap. If I go on, I will have a hard time, if I go back, I will be shot in the back ! Time to go banzai ! The orc champion is getting closer, the archers are going deeper, I hold my breath and it's time to get some guts ! Watch out, here comes old Taunt Lilith ! With the blink of an eye, I'm in the middle of the melee. Attack, Attack, keep attacking was I thinking. After some seconds, the mob is down. Just 2 pots for a dozen of monsters. Green item on the floor, Recundis sword. Critical on it, nice, as soon as I can socket some life leech in it. I wandered through the cave, slaying and slicing orcs into pieces. My experience gauge is going crazy, I hit level 18 in just a few minutes. I stop for a second, checking my number of pots and I notice I've picked up a Recundis shield in the middle of the battle. Nice shield for a beginner. I went back to a smith at level 20 to have my recundis set forged and I also upgraded my gear with silver smith arts, and back to the cave, in bronze ! With critical in addition with my growing experience, I made from 20 to 30 in about an hour or two, that was so funny and exciting, I didn't watch the clock. I finished my OC trip by a good overspawnage of the cave. 5 champions in a squared meter. 1 cubic meter of blood and bones. 10 seconds of fun, but crappy drops !. It's time to get some rest." Ok so after this little narration, I'll get into technical details : My skill choice at level 20 went to parrying, as I will use a shield all the time Level 30 seemed to be a nice time to get trading. My goal is to max it when reaching Gold. This is the difficulty level where a good equipment is recommended, most of all in hardcore. And at level 60, you have enough gold to do intensive shopping. This build being a "Noob-friendly" char, Trading will help to improve the CA by finding good items as we don't want to eat runes. From level 26 I started sparing some point to invest in trading. This build going well in silver, I stopped pumping Vampirism and Constitution for some levels. Moreover, bonus from items tend to balance the lack of investment. So far at level 31 (base skills, without any bonus) Skills Vampirism = 26 Consitution = 26 Weapon lore = 5 Agility = 5 Armor = 5 Parry = 3 Trading = 18 I try to keep a good balance between Agility, Armor and Parry to enhance survivability. The order I pump them up is Agility (need to hit and not to be hit), Armor (better resists if mobbed, and a better movement speed between two mobs), and then Parry. 29 more levels to go to 60, and 42 points needed for trading. From now on, I got 4 points per levels to invest in skills 2 points per level in trading gives trading maxed at level 44. so till level 44, I will spend my points according to a single rule Trading + 2 Vampirism + 1 Agility / Armor / Parry +1 in this order. From 45 to 60 and until I change my mind Trading + 1 Vampirism + 2 Constitution / Agility / Armor / Parry + 1 in this order. Weapon lore is left to item bonuses, for the moment. CA : I haven't read any more runes. My TIV is still level 1 (activated via a TIV Combo) My Attack is still level 1 (5 with bonuses, need to be improved) And as a result of this, it's still raining runes. I'm looking for an Umbrella with +xx to "Summon a Slave Dwarf Mule" if any My CA Projects : If I encounter hard times in late silver, I will invest 1 rune in Wolf Call, and make a WC Combo. A nice puppy sandbag I will also probably invest 1 rune in Combat jump, for mobility. This will be a total of 3 read runes (1 Attack, 1 Wolf Call and 1 Combat Jump, TIV being earned at creation) I haven't choosen the skill I will pick up at 50 yet. Probably a specific lore. To be worked around. Next Chapter : The Gold Rush to be continued...
  20. Hum anyone else wants to try Reverse character building. You make the char according to what boni you have... may be funny in hardcore lol. I'm in a hurry to see a seraphim with only conversion... don't laugh, I'm sure gogo could make it viable Nihi
  21. More of Pixelgod Search for MS PAINT or pixelgod in youtube and enjoy
