  1. lol I'm a bit outta practice... but... Paiste... they make a quality cymbal, but they're hard to find around here... expensive when you do find them... theres only like 3 music stores in town, and they all carry sabians and zildjians only... I originally wanted TAMA Iron cobra pedals... but alas! they don't carry them here... had to buy Gibbies... =/ -Total

  4. Very nice, never seen the movie! good find. if you enjoyed that one, you'd probably like Innocent, Automatic Flowers, and Naveed (all also by our lady peace) currently listening to: Sirens and Totalimmortal - A.F.I. one of the guys thought it'd be funny to blast Totalimmortal and his sirens in the parking lot, in commemeration of my belated birthday, after he finished playing the song, he and 2 other guys sang happy birthday over the intercom lol. some people... lol -Total
  5. A desert eagle would be either a .45 ACP or a .50 cal... both of which I've shot, (albeit not too accurately) this here is a .22 pistol, so the diameter is say, 1/5 of an inch, (with relative gunpowder charge). the .45 ACP/.50 cal is roughly 1/2 an inch (with relative charge as well) .45 ACP is much faster and hotter a round, much more recoil. I've seen an 8 year old shoot a .22 pistol with little recoil, so I'd say that they're easy to handle. on the other hand, I've seen a 40 year old almost break his nose not knowing how to handle the recoil of a .50. it's all about how you place your hands on the weapon. and yes, jasper is right, guns are most definitely NOT toys. my competition will be using a 9mm, either a glock 17 or a sig sauer p228. I shoot .22s to conserve money (550 bullets for $10 US, compared to 9mm 50 bullets for $13 US.) GUNS ARE NOT TOYS DO NOT EVER EVER EVER POINT ONE AT SOMEONE, LOADED OR UNLOADED UNLESS IT IS IN SELF DEFENSE AND THEY ARE PRESENTING YOU WITH EQUAL OR GREATER FORCE. now that I've completed my little spiel, my last note is, jasper, I have one sister, and I know she is definitely noisier than both the gun and the drums. lol take care all, -Total
  6. lol my sarge just started calling me McLovin today because he saw the movie last night... wait till next time he uses his axe deoderant spray and finds out someone 'misplaced' their mace can =P... I have a funny feeling that that prank mighta taken it a bit too far though =/ -Total

  8. actually, I have written some HTML/XML in my day... but actually no. I am just trying to figure out which browser I like the best... so far the poll is: Opera, Firefox, and IE coming in Dead Last. opera is really quick =D and I like widgets. -Total
  9. NOOOO! I can't play at work =( its really slow (as our internet here is rather poor)... not that I don't have better things to do -Total
  10. to add on to this, I didn't send any out, but I received about 15 texts once I was finally asleep, at around 4 AM. this was a real pain as I awakened... but not complaining (I got a little sacred in before I went back to sleep)... however this doesn't strike me as odd, because normally my phone has about 20 minutes of lagtime when receiving 2+ texts from different people at the same time, or when I'm sending one and receiving one at the same time. furthermore, in the case that someone is having this problem and is in immediate danger, what would happen? I often use texting at work to communicate with others on my shift, as they don't have to try to hear phone convos over radio noise. it's a helpful tool, and many many people use it (too much). with that being said, we should learn to not rely on texting so much for communication. it's a resource that can be taken away from us at random periods of time, shown by this new year's verizon 'flop' as one could say. just my 2 cents worth, -Total
  11. My newest addition to the 'make lots of noise' club. thats 2 Gretsch Blackhawk EXs... 1 fusion kit (10 inch tom, 12 inch tom, 14 inch floor tom, 24 inch bass) and 1 rock kit (12 inch tom, 13 inch tom, 16 inch floor tom, 24 inch bass)... each kit comes with a 14x4 inch snare, I use em as side snares, tuned differently. Using Gibraltar pedals and hardware, Remo Coated Emporer heads, (an evans coated hydraulic blue head on the main snare) a couple sabian cymbals, a couple zildjians, and a Wuhan China (hand-made =D) Got the fusion kit a few weeks ago on Ebay And the other "makes lots of noise" A Sig Sauer Mosquito... a little .22 caliber. Got it from the local gun store a few weeks ago as well. it's a dream. love it. lots of fun to shoot, great for beginners too! hopefully it'll help me practice for my competition in a few months. -Total
  12. -Total rockin out a few years ago on his then-brand-new kit (actually it was a birthday present, I wanna say 3 years ago) yay double bass pedal =P -An even older pic of me jammin out on my peavey... thats my room... or how it looked back then. -White-water canoeing. very very fun... 2 years ago -my greatest baseball accompllishment, 3 years ago. pitched a complete game 1-hitter (I was actually 1 batter away from a perfect game... although it was only 7 innings) against one of the best teams in delaware. 18 strikeouts =D thats the post-game, me and my 'brother' -Don't wake me up. 2 years ago. Finally took the time to get some pics of me up here. =D have a good day all. -Total
  13. That's my desktop on my work PC... apparently the guys think I look like mclovin... except I weigh like 60 lbs more than him and have facial hair... (most of the time) And yes I have opera, firefox, and IE open all at the same time. -Total
  14. Just thought that this'd be cool to find out more about people, and see what they have in common. (If this has already been done, someone please point me in the right direction and delete este topic! por favor =P) The idea: Post whatever your favorite anything is (the first thing that comes to mind). if something comes to mind, write it down... I'm just rambling about my favorite whatevers below, but if one has a topic that I didn't cover, go for it, write it down. The objective: For people to learn more about each other (and for people to learn more about themselves =P). People who know about each other make connections that they didn't realize they had and it makes it easier to communicate with that person... and everyone knows its nice to have people to talk to, right? Hope y'all enjoy this little 'exercise' and learn something about someone that you didn't know before. Cheers! Favorite movie(s): Star Wars trilogy/ any bruce willis movie Favorite Characters from those movies: Boba Fett (the one in Mandalore Armor, not the little kid one...) and John McLane of Die Hard quadrilogy:) Favorite Author: Tom Clancy Favorite Book By Author: The Hunt For Red October Favorite Comic Book: The Crow series Favorite Video Game (pre- windows XP): Either Age Of Empires, or Age of Empires 2... or Knights of the sky (From DOS), or Red Baron (another DOS goodie) Favorite "new" video game (and by new I mean after the abovementioned games): Favorite toy when growing up: I'm gonna have to go with the Boba Fett action figure... he was soooooo cool! Favorite car: Porsche GT3 Twin Turbo (any year) Favorite Color: Black Favorite Animal: German Shepherd (more generally speaking, dogs... I have a BEAUTIFUL Australian Shepherd =P, but I really want a german shepherd or dobermann) Favorite Saying: "If it ain't broke don't fix it." Favorite food: ATM it's prolly fettucini alfredo Favorite Pastime: Going to the shooting range with my dad. (He's my coach, he's a retired USAF Sharpshooter, and I am involved in a shooting tournament in Colorado next July, VERY PSYCHED! My police agency opted to send me to represent cadets from my county =D) Favorite instrument: Drums (but a guitar comes in a very close second.) Favorite brand of abovementioned instrument: Gretsch (Currently playing on a "homemade" kit, 2 Gretsch Blackhawk EXs combined into a "superkit" [like the 80s hair metal bands played on]) Favorite Band: Pearl Jam Favorite Song: Given To Fly - Pearl Jam Favorite Sacred Character: Dark Elf Favorite Combat Art: Explosive Charge Well thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Hope y'all learned a little more about me (prolly more than most of you wanted to know)... hehe have fun all! -Total
  15. Thief by Our Lady Peace Most depressing song ever, written in memory of a young female child in Canada who suffers from Brain Cancer and is terminally ill. Made more depressing by Raine Maida's excruciating voice. I recommend listening to it, as it is a very sobering experiece to listen to the lyrics and think of that poor girl. Blessings of good health to all! -Total
