  1. Yea, unfortunately that seems to be the main reason people don't want to play. But certainly to each their own, everyone has different gameplay styles they are comfortable with!
  2. Will anyone here be playing? I already preordered it, and am waiting on release/early access at the end of August One of the coolest things I think this game brings is the PS3/PC compatibility for both ends. Both PS3 players and PC players will be playing on the same servers, so if you have a friend that doesn't have a gaming computer but has a PS3 you'll be able to play with them ingame! On the reverse side of things, the PC version offers complete controller support. This means you can plug in a controller and get the same interface as the PS3 users Another one of the unique concepts I like about this game is that there is no need for alternative characters. You can have them if you choose, but there are no real bonuses for doing so. This works nicely for a player like myself who usually makes a ton of alts and never gets to the endgame content with any of them. This system enforces me to stick with the character I'm currently playing. Why do you not need alternative characters? This is because every character can be EVERY class and job, just not at the same time. You switch between classes by changing weapon sets, and switch jobs by talking to specific guild npcs. Classes are very generic and only dictate what style of weapons you use, whereas jobs are more specific roles in a party (tank, DPS, healer...etc.). Every character can "equip" two classes and one job at a time. This means you get skills from all three of those profession choices. The business model they are using is the World of Warcraft model. This means you pay less for a digital/boxed version of the game and then pay a subscription fee every month you would like to play. This fee ranges from $13-$15 depending on how many character slots you want. I HATE sub games, but I really feel like this one has promise. Plus, if I don't enjoy myself after 3 months I can just stop paying and more on to greener pastures Game Link: http://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/sys
  3. I played it for a months with some of my friends. It's good for a couple hours of hack and slash, but not really a lasting game. Quests are as generic as they get "Go fetch this", "Go kill X amount of X monster", the armor system is linear, and the lack of endgame content is sad. BUT! It's really fun for the combat itself, so if you can wait the hour(s) for those 35g then give it a try! It is free as you said
  4. I've been using Hamachi the last 4 years and I've never had a problem, but I'd love to learn a new connection client as well
  5. I have the steam version, and the Steam Workshop is very convenient for downloading all the different mods out there
  6. Awesome work Schot and gogo, and all the other contributors for getting the wiki back up and running! Now that I've got all this great data available to me, I may have to jump back in to Sacred 2 and try out some builds! Thanks again for the hard work guys
  7. For me the number buttons only cycle through the weapon slots and not the CAs
  8. Nice! Biking at the Cape is amazing, I've been on bike trips there about 2-3 times and had a great experience each time Did you used to be an avid biker Knuckles?
  9. If it was within a reasonable timeframe, GGG is normally more than happy to work with the players to get the deal price
  10. So its better to just sell all the armor for the other classes you get while playing unless its a set? This game is ALOT harder than Sacred 2 is I think I've died about 7 times in just one hour! P.S. Anyway to cycle through Combat Arts besides manual clicking or combos? I saw a few high level players clicking on the CA to change them, but I want to be sure
  11. Entirely correct, I seem to have left the chemistry/physics module at home today
  12. Yea, the problem Blizzard faced was that the game had so many problems in 1.0.0 that they lost a HUGE part of their audience. I honestly think that if the game had been released in the current 1.0.8 form, many more people would have stuck to the game for atleast a few weeks longer than they had
  13. So far I love it! Is there anyway to mule items on to other characters? No shared stash is kinda a bummer :/
  14. Sounds a little like your Secret Agent High Elf eh?
  15. The thing with the auction house was that the game was designed around it. Loot drops were so terrible and infrequent that everyone was kind of shoehorned in to buying better gear on the AH. Nowadays, it's a lot better with the patches that made the game more reasonable, but more than likely you can find an upgrade easier on the AH than for farming for it. Also with the Real Money AH, it made the game a Pay 2 Win game. You can just drop a couple bucks and buy amazing gear that totally outclasses what you have before. The console version getting rid of this is a great way to fix the loot game in D3
  16. Yup, gold edition comes with Underworld I was thinking about starting with the Poison Lady Dameon build on the forums here, but are there any super beginner builds? The game reminds me more of Diablo 2 than Sacred 2 which I found interesting
  17. Psychological is sometimes much stronger than any physical strength
  18. Welp, I've downloaded it thanks to you guys Any recommendations for running on a 23' monitor? I keep reading that the resolution is locked, but sometimes our techs over here know a few workaround
  19. Hey all, I was thinking about buying Sacred Gold (it's only $10) but I wanted to get some opinions from people who played both S1 and Sacred 2 Do you think I'd still enjoy the experience after sinking 2000+ hours into Sacred 2:FA? I know the game is where the roots of Fallen Angel come from, but if it's a reverse experience I'd prefer not to sour it. So does anyone have a recommendation? Try to remember I have not seen ANYTHING with the game save a few screenshots and trailer clips here and there
  20. That's true, really any piece of clothing can now be rain gear
  21. Mind-blowing But now that you mention the bullets, couldn't they just spray that coating on some bullets to makes them go through water? The coating would repel the water around the bullet, propelling it forward with no resistance?
  22. Well your lungs will certainly appreciate the switch over I wonder if E-Cigs will become the new norm if enough users find them to be excellent alternatives. I know my college up in Boston was trying to pass a regulation for no smoking on school property, but E-Cigs were allowed so perhaps they are becoming more mainstream?
