  1. There may be some formulas floating around on the boards somewhere that have been posted, but you'd have to go looking for them as I don't recall any specific threads off the top of my head. However, the easiest way (or at least what I always found was the easiest way) to satisfy yourself that your chance to hit / chance to be hit are high enough was to use the last opponent window. From memory it would show the last 10 monsters you killed so if you had a champion (or even a boss) in there it would show your chance to hit them and their chance to hit you and this would update based on whatever gear you were wearing at the time. This would allow you to play around with items to see which modifier at the time had the greatest affect and help you decide what to equip.
  2. The benefit to farming the guardians is 5 bosses (4 guardians plus egg) in the one area without having to travel to multiple portals. Much easier for those of us online at the time to maximise the number of boss kills in a given time frame which seemed to make the biggest difference with regards to actually getting a legendary to drop. I have a maths / engineering background so sometimes can't help being pedantic over numbers ;) So yes, I agree with you in spirit, if not in detail. Although I should note the first legendary I ever dropped was in silver off a random mob in the swamps somewhere.
  3. Not entirely true, they can drop from lesser creatures at lower difficulties it's just that the chance is very low. However, even at higher difficulties doing repeated nameless guardian runs still netted a very low frequency of legendary drops.
  4. I would suggest checking out builds by Chattius. He often would come up with some interesting builds based on either enforced restrictions or non-standard playstyles that usually ended up challenging, but ultimately quite powerful.
  5. To add to the other responses, armor reduces the amount of damage you will take from a source. More simply; increase defense to reduce your chance to be hit and increase armor to reduce the damage you take when hit. More complicated; you also need to consider the effects of damage mitigation, chance to evade, etc. on your gear.
  6. I'm curious, do you actually notice any of the eternal fire effects being applied? More specifically, a couple of questions I have are: Do all the tokens actually work with the spellclass selected. Is there a limit to the number of tokens that can be applied to a spell (the maximum that any original spell has is 15 (entry0 - entry14) I think)? How does the game handle multiple tokens for each spell modification (entry5 and entry17 are both the upper bronze mod for the spell) or are the second tokens being ignored because they fall outside the maximum number of tokens?
  7. To be fair, the portals in Sacred 2 are "relatively" symmetrical with symbols carved around the portal circumference similar to the Star Gate. I do still feel that it seems to be more of a convergent design (varied inspiration producing a similar solution / design) rather than an homage to a specific look from somewhere else, but that is just my subjective opinion! Hooyah, you may also want to note that it is "Spock" and not "Mr Spoke" as the text you've added currently states.
  8. To be honest I always thought the portal looked like it took inspiration more from a Stargate than anything else. It may also simply be a coincidence, an ancient magic stone portal with a view through the other otherside isn't exactly an unheard of fantasy / sci-fi trope.
  9. Sounds really tasty! Also sounds like you needed more than one day off after all that...
  10. Hi JoyFreak, welcome to our little slice of the internet I hope you enjoy your time here!
  11. It definitely sounds like something I'd try. I have no qualms trying new things and "Some onions and caraway on the Mett, salt and pepper,..." sounds pretty good to me! Ah well, maybe if / when I get to Europe I'll have to swing by Germany. And I definitely agree on not overcooking meat, red meats have to be medium-rare!
  12. Ok, that sounds pretty reasonable then. I wonder how it tastes...
  13. Interesting post Chattius. I imagine there must be some quite strict food quality requirements associated with eating raw pork? But I guess if you can eat sashimi / sushi, steak tartare, etc. then as long as the pork is fresh and isn't infected with anything then why not...
