  1. Best keyboard for gaming = basic model whitout any modelname of manufactor, because it doesn't have any not needed buttons like "e-mail", "messenger", "mute", "media", "volume control", "favourites" etc.. all this rubbish which is useless, but can take a several hits whitout getting any damage. Too bad my current one has all of those so this one cannot take punch. So I need to watch my temper. Best mouse for gaming = Razor (choose your model here) So this thing is just waste of money in my opinion.
  2. List of supported games is still really slim and some news said that nvidia bought that physX technology and will be on geforce 8 series and higher. Here's a press realease or something http://kotaku.com/5036015/nvidia-unleashes...eforce-8-and-up This part was really interesting: "By installing these drivers, GeForce owners can immediately experience much higher levels of interactivity, special effects, and realism on their PC. In addition, GeForce owners will love being able to run PhysX-accelerated applications faster on their GeForce GPU than on competitive GPUs. For example, in the PhysX-enabled levels of Unreal Tournament 3, the GeForce 9800 GTX+ runs 180% faster than on the AMD Radeon HD 4850." I guess I feel bit sad now that I took radeon instead of geforce.. ohh well.
  3. Really? wow, that game must be eating memory a lot then. As I never close my MSN, most of the time I've got winamp playing, still can run multiple pages online and convert a video whitout seeing any delay on any commands. I could even run a game while waiting some download and video file conversion while listening music and keeping Photoshop open and record a video of doing so. Just took a test. Got four different pages on firefox open, one is playing video from youtube, got bsplayer playing a video, msn as allways on, adobe photoshop open, winamp playing song, just for fun rollercoaster tycoon running (yeah old game, but still should use memory) and top of all that I opened FL Studio 8 XXL producer edition and loaded the biggest son possible (if thinking how much memory and CPU power it uses ) and still get no delay at all from any program. And anyone who has done some music knows how much it can use of your memory and CPU when having a bad soundcard or integrated sound card, as I have, which is even worse. So I don't really see what should I do the get the computer slow down? or even think situation where I would need more programs running at the same time.
  4. hmm.. Let's see.. games that require new computer.. doesn't ring any bells. Old games are better, such as: Fallout 2, Sacred Underworld, Heroes of Might and magic 2, Hitman: bloodmoney (also contract and other parts of hitman series), Call of Duty, Medal of Honor, Battlefield 1942, Rollercoaster tycoon 2, Red Faction, Duke Nukem 3d, Command & Conquer: First Decade (includes all C&C's), F.E.A.R, Gran Theft Auto (1,3, vice city, san andreas atleast), Warcraft 2, Diablo 2 expansion, Need for speed: Underground 2 Newer games I would like to play: New Call of Duty.. is it 3 or 4.. which ever. New medal of honor airborne and hmmm.. cannot think of any others. Let's see when I bother to get either one.. Still waiting to see: Sacred 2, Diablo 3, Fallout 3, new hitman game when ever it's done. <-- only reason why I bought new computer is to play these games, I hope they are good enought as otherwise I feel sad I even get new comp.. More than those together I wait the release of Gran Turismo 5 for PS3 and I don't even own a PS3 (yet, but I will in day when GT5 is out)
  5. Never had any problems whit 2gb on my old PC.. it was just the poor CPU that couldn't run those programs fast enought. Now much much better CPU and also 2gb of ram, I can do whatever whitout any delay.. so I don't see what's the fuzz about more RAM needed to get good performance..?
  6. Now that would be nice to had to mobile phones.. ones whit bigger screens like in PocketPC's. Looks like the old and good heroes. And if this HoMM kindom is going to be free to play and based on first two games of the series, it sounds interesting. But if it's based on 3 or newer HoMM, going to pass as they have never been interesting enought for me to play.
  7. MB seems to be socket 775, p45 chipset so CPU should be compatible, also it says on the MB's specs that it has support for that type of RAM up to 8gig's so don't see a reason why wouldn't these parts fit together. Also that power is more than enought for the system as somewhere read that 4870 has recomended power of 500w or higher. So basicly you could take smaller power, but then again if you later add the second graphics card it could be good thing to have that bigger power. Overall your computer looks like it's going to be a really good for several years even whitout any updates. Bit expensive, but surely will be able to play all games whit full graphics settings.
  8. Sounds like a gaming machine.. only thing I don't get is why would you buy two 320gb hd's instead of one bigger? like 1Tt hd.. atleast in some Finnish netsite Seagate DiamondMax 22 (1 Tt, 7200 RPM) costs about 125€, Seagate Barracuda 7200.11 (750 Gt, 7200rpm) cost about 100€ and two of 320gb's cost about 100€, so you would get a lot more space for less money if buying one bigger hd. or are you planning to use the otherone as safe back-up hd if you need to install OS again for some reason?
  9. It depens if it really has something extra I want. If it has just junk, normal version will do fine.
  10. I think I used it ones or twice, after that haven't used it at all. Haven't seen any damage done on my usb-stick or camera
  11. Finnish beers: 1. Karhu 2. Koff 3. Lapin Kulta 4. Lahden Sininen Australian: Foster's (my favourite beer) Czech: Velkopopovický Kozel there is another good beer from czech, but cannot remember the name at the moment Estonia: A. Le Coq Saku I bet there is even more, but cannot remember the names, because I mostly drink finnish beers as they are cheaper here and better tasting than most. Some what I don't like are Carlsberg and Heineken even they are really popular.
  12. Not going to watch any olympics. I find watching paint dry more interesting than olympics.. still not going to do either. Good thing all the olympic programs comes from two channels I never watch anyways so I won't miss those few good programs I like to watch.
  13. Just thinking when do I get my hands on brand new Sony Bravia 40" 40v4000 full hd LCD tv and it connected to my PC.. I'll order one soon as any finnish site gets one in theyr storage.
  14. Or buy a second-hand one XP (from someone "updating" to Vista) cheaper and install it and sell the vista for the same price what you paid of xp or you can get even more money from it?
  15. That is sad.. I wouldn't trade my Xp Pro to Vista even if Microsoft would pay me to use it. Maybe the next OS for me is some version of Linux whit support of windows games.. that would really be great. I don't believe that any game developer starts to do Vista only games, so Xp will work fine still long time. Or who knows. Then it's just time get rid of PC and start gaming on a PS1-2-3 and maybe in the future version 4.
  16. Defrag.. whats that.. hehe. Don't really remember when done defragging last time. Never done it to my new computer and maybe 4 months ago only partial defrag on my old computer. I blame win xp's defrag program for that (sure sure.. I'm just too lazy to put it on), but maybe those programs on this thread would make the job better and faster.
  17. This is really bad news for Sacred 2, when ever it's released. That game looks really good and sounds really good. Allmost must have game.. maybe even pre-order. Even the site looks really good, they must have spend lot of time doing it and not just put up some half empty page like sacred 2 site was when launched. Graphics are updated d2 style and that is a good thing. Also noticed many other stuff from d2 in that ingame video. Haven't had this good feeling about game for a long time. Let's see how long does it take for them to get it on stores.
  18. Allready bought 500w power and sending that 420w back tomorrow, but it's good to know about these things, thanks for the info . Also got all the parts and started to assemble my PC, but they forgot to send me one critical component.. CPU fan, so my system is no good before they send me one. Allready put mobo on the case and ram on to mobo + some basic cables. Didn't bother to put power or other components as the are just in the way when installind CPU. If I'm lucky enought, it's fully running before weekend.
  19. I took Duo E8400 just because it has been said that it will out perform quadcore processors when doing things that doesn't support multiple cores. So basicly if I would use photoshop a lot or even as a work tool, I would definetly take quadcore. But other than that, I hardly know any other programs so far that uses all four cores, so dual core will out perfom it easily (two faster cores is better than four slower ones when it only uses 1 or 2). Somewhere read article about future quadcores and programs that will be able to use all the power of quadcore and there was tip about buying dual core for now as when those programs comes out, current quadcores are outdated. That's true. And it's good to remember that you save lot of money if you get 8800gts which you can use for next time you need to update your graphic card or more RAM or what ever needed. If you don't really care will you be able to play 1900x? full graphics every game, why even bother spend too much money on graphic card as prices drop fast and good graphic cards will perform really well for years even if it's not best on the market at the moment. This is why I bought hd8350 overclocked, best performance for price. Around as good as 8800GS and still lot cheaper. Around 50euros cheaper than 8800 series cards and 100e cheaper than high performance 8800 cards.. and when it seems that it can't handle well anymore, I'll buy another one for really cheap and use crossfire.
  20. oh no.. got my new graphic card and it says 450w power needed and I bought 420w power Can't even cancel it anymore.. it's allready send. Oh well, have to buy some 450 or maybe even 500w power from local shop and send the 420w back.
  21. Yeah it really would be, but in my case, only things I could save was keyboard, mouse and screen. Old motherboard doesn't support new processors, old graphic card is AGP and new motherboards only supports PCI-E cards, Memory sticks are ddr so in theory they should work on new pc too, but when ddr2 sticks are really cheap, why bother taking memory out of old pc and making it un-usable. And if I remove old case, where'll I put all the old pc's components? and there is lot of cheap cases so again, why bother. So had to buy everything new.. .. eemmh. How do you do it? I mean, I have something like 300gb of stuff in my external hd allready + 50gb programs and games on my PC and more comes all the time. Maybe it's because I tend to keep every game possible on pc even I wouldn't play them.
  22. Huh, Gogo.. you really put lot of money on graphic card, but got really good one. Best single card on the market. Really nice. That power suply is bit overkill in my opinion too, and will be seen in raised electric bill atleast a bit, but better to have some extra if you'r going to update some years later. Now that you showed your system, it's better to show my new system too on the same thread.. no point starting a new one for it. Kinda lame after your ûber graphic card, but good enought for me and for the budget I had. Case: Cm Elite 330 (some basic coolmaster case http://www.cpusolutions.com/mm8004744CPU/I...SELITE330CM.jpg Power: Xilence 420W 12 cm Fan REDWING (I hope it's enought) CPU: Intel Core 2 duo E8400 6Mb 3,0ghz + Fan Mobo: ASUS S775 IP965 DDR2 SATA2 R GBL 8CH HDA - P5B Ram: Kingston 2GB 800MHZ DDR2 NON-ECC CL5 DIMM HD: Western Digital CAVIAR SE 320GB SATA2 7200RPM 8MB DVD-drive: some cheap LG dvd-rw GPU: Club 3d Ati Radeon 3850 PCIE 512M GDDR3 OVERCLOCKED (got it because it had really good value for money rate on tom's harware site) 1 year warranty This is the best part.. full price: 529,65e whit shipping costs. And I think it will do great few years before I need to update anything if that powersupply just is enought to run this system. I hope it is. Old stuff.. win xp pro as OS, Samsung syncmaster 793df 17", Logitech keyboard, green razor copperhead first edition as mouse, logitech 2.1 system for sounds and external 500gb seagate free agent Pro for storage space. When my summer vacation money comes, I am planning to buy LG42" LCD tv and use it as a screen from time to time. And then my gaming experience will be great.
  23. And still, my GPU would be good enought for some new games (atleast on low settings), but CPU is too slow to run even some older games whitout getting low FPS. So even the best GPU won't help much if CPU is powerless. So cheap CPU and expensive GPU won't help you anymore than expensive CPU and really cheap GPU.
  24. I'll stick whit XP. And partly because of that, I had to build my new PC from pieces as all new PC's come whit Vista and I just don't want to bother to even try it out. Seen how it asks permissions to do anything on my friends laptop and I just don't feel like it's any good. And by the way.. that friend of mine installed Xp not so long time ago. Asked him why did he want to change it back to XP, he just said just for fun. But I think there was some reasons.. why would anyone change OS just for fun if the current OS works allright? Now he really tries to seek flaws on XP so I wouldn't be able to find out what was the main reason for changing it back. Personaly, I would go mad if my PC would constantly ask me "do you want to give this action permission"..
