  1. Their website seems to be down right now.
  2. I'm not sure I can remember as far back as the first one I cried at. A fairly contemporary movie though is ... Saving Private Ryan I was crying so hard at the end I had to wait until most of the other attendees had left. Yes, I was in the military. Yes, I lost friends in Viet Nam. Yes, I know the film was about WWII but it was still about the military "Brotherhood".
  3. It will be our 40th anniversary on 12 July. We still argue but do our best not to go to bed angry with each other. It will help your finances immensely if you conserve water by showering together. It is also a little harder to stay angry when helping to soap up ...
  4. Ref: http://forum.sacredeng.ascaron-net.com/sho...ead.php?t=45741 Rather than duplicate all the discussion here, I will use the link above to point to the initial discussion that died ... until I was convinced I should post here. Right now my Sacred 2 site is languishing as I haven't upgraded to display newly available pictures but feel it a lost cause without a good banner so I can go public. Feel free to continue the discussion in here or in the SIF. Any help will be appreciated.
  5. Hmm, Sacred is not listed. I have a Dell 22" (sorry, cannot see the model number, it's behind the HDMI connector ) that I typically run at 1600x1200. I can't believe I used to use a 19" CRT!
  6. Actually, only one playable character appears to be represented and there are 9 of them.

    Bill Gates Rant

I agree, Brother Bill probably doesn't even know how to turn his own computer on, much less download anything.
  8. Thanks, I will add you next time I'm on. There is a server list in the upper right corner where you can force a particular server. Once you join a party, all you need do is one of you leave town and re-enter to be on the same server. [Added] OK, I was finally able to add you under the Mythos Test Center as Podgie. I will check for you each time I play.
  9. The first thing I do when I join a game is turn off all the chat channels and switch to Local. I find the constant "chatter" annoying. If you will post a name we can use to add you to our friends list, I will add you to mine. I don't know when I will be playing next or I'd give you mine. I'm in the midst of another big project right now.
  10. I jus got the email and went to the link provided for the download but it is NOT FF3, it is only FF 2.0.0.14 which has been out for some time. Wonder what is going on? BTW, your initial link no longer works. I wonder if someone is simply trying to overload the FF Servers?
  11. I don't feel right about publishing my email address like this but I finally decided to join in. Hope they make such a high number that no one else (M$?) can come anywhere near breaking the record for many years to come.
  12. You didn't help with whether to get Vista or XP but you did verify that Vista runs better without all the eye-candy. Thanks!
  13. Grrr, I was also pricing new systems yesterday and was all set to get a new XP system. Now I may be forced to rethink. From what I've heard, if you disable most of the eye-candy with Vista its response is almost as good as XP. Are there any Vista users out there that can verify that?
  14. Most of my Specs are well above recommended but my video card leaves much room for improvement. I'm hoping I can simply replace it with a better one. If not, my "yearly computer" will have to be a little more than normal.
  15. I check every day but usually just to check if there is any reply to anything I've posted.
  16. I know what it's like to loose someone and it's no fun. At least I didn't have to sit there and watch them go until my mother died. My favorite grandmother (the only one I knew) died while I was onboard a ship off SE Asia back in 1966. My father died 10 August 2004 of a stroke. My mother died 24 September 2006. I think she was just in waiting mode as she felt she had nothing left to live for. I wish at least my parents were still here. One thing you might consider is something that helped me somewhat. I created a "Remember Them" type topic in my forum and asked everyone who knew them to post remembrances. I learned things about my father that I had never known. Unfortunately, my mother had moved shortly after my father died and I didn't know any of her friends, so her "Memorial" is a little sparse. If you do something similar, you might be surprised at what you learn about her from her friends. If you're fortunate, you will be able to show it to her while she's still able to appreciate it. An added plus is that it will still be there after she's gone to give you some poor comfort. The only consolation I can gie is that, though you will never forget, the pain does get bearable after a long enough exposure. I don't think it gets any less but you get used to it being there. I can go entire days now without thinking of my parents ... and the fact that technically I'm now an orphan. I hope she has a full recovery and that all this is a scare for no reason other than to remind you how special your family is to you. Best Wishes.

  18. Hmm, I'm in with no problems. Perhaps your employer is blocking non-business sites ...
  19. You might try forcing it by typing in: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php Which should take you directly to the main forum program.
