  1. If you are willing to lavish tender loving care on her content, I would love to turn it over to you. She has already given her permission for me to do so, some years ago, last time I hear from her. I would want to make sure you had everything on your website before I took it down from mine, though.
  2. My link reads "Unread Posts" and I check often enough that I don't know how far back it goes ... Gogo, why does that Studio II icon seem to be cropped incorrectly? It looks like it says"Studio I"
  3. I have a Logitech F310 and wouldn't have a wireless controller. I hate having batteries die on me at the most inopportune time ... I also have a Logitech G900 mouse for my iMac and am thinking about purchasing another for my PC. It's both wireless and wired. The rechargeable battery inside isn't all that heavy and gives me about 32 hours of real use out of a charge with all the bells and whistles turned off. A little notification pops up in the upper right corner of the screen when the battery level reaches 30% and I can just plug in the charging cable and keep right on using it as a wired mouse as the battery charges back up.
  4. I usually check in every day, but also failed to see this post. Do you have a link to the original image? I would like to see if they have anything else to say.
  5. Welcome, DiagrisKkor. It's nice to see another Ancient Mariner on the boards. I cut my teeth on Lord British's Ultima series games on the Apple ][ back in the lat 70's. I had to buy myself a computer after bonding so closely to the computers at college, so I got my first Apple in 1977, shortly after I graduated. I used to love to mod Diablo and still have my original games. I have multiple copies of DII as I used to host LAN games. I just realized, I haven't played any computer games in months! I've been concentrating my time on writing a FanFiction book. The latest chapter is getting the better of me, though.
  6. I envy you both. Both my daughters are grown with families of their own. I used to play computer games with them when they were younger, but now the older one is too busy to do much of anything and the younger has moved on to console games. Hmm, my youngest daughter hates being called "The Baby of the Family". My wife is only in her early 70's, perhaps we could create another sibling to share my computer gaming prowess with ...

I hold no responsibility for your setup or any damage done while using/installing/modifying this script. And now for the Lawyer's crap... (With thanks to Don Hopkins for not copyrighting such a GREAT page! ) WARNING: This product warps space and time in its vicinity. WARNING: This product attracts every other piece of matter in the universe, including the products of other manufacturers, with a force proportional to the product of the masses and inversely proportional to the distance between them. CAUTION: The mass of this product contains the energy equivalent of 85 million tons of TNT per net ounce of weight. HANDLE WITH EXTREME CARE: This product contains minute electrically charged particles moving at velocities in excess of five hundred million miles per hour. CONSUMER NOTICE: Because of the "uncertainty principle," it is impossible for the consumer to find out at the same time both precisely where this product is and how fast it is moving. ADVISORY: There is an extremely small but nonzero chance that, through a process known as "tunneling," this product may spontaneously disappear from its present location and reappear at any random place in the universe, including your neighbor's domicile. The manufacturer will not be responsible for any damages or inconveniences that may result. READ THIS BEFORE OPENING PACKAGE: According to certain suggested versions of the Grand Unified Theory, the primary particles constituting this product may decay to nothingness within the next four hundred million years. THIS IS A 100% MATTER PRODUCT: In the unlikely event that this merchandise should contact antimatter in any form, a catastrophic explosion will result. PUBLIC NOTICE AS REQUIRED BY LAW: Any use of this product, in any manner whatsoever, will increase the amount of disorder in the universe. Although no liability is implied herein, the consumer is warned that this process will ultimately lead to the heat death of the universe. NOTE: The most fundamental particles in this product are held together by a "gluing" force about which little is currently known and whose adhesive power can therefore not be permanently guaranteed. ATTENTION: Despite any other listing of product contents found hereon, the consumer is advised that, in actuality, this product consists of 99.9999999999% empty space. NEW GRAND UNIFIED THEORY DISCLAIMER: The manufacturer may technically be entitled to claim that this product is ten-dimensional. However, the consumer is reminded that this confers no legal rights above and beyond those applicable to three-dimensional objects, since the seven new dimensions are "rolled up" into such a small "area" that they cannot be detected. PLEASE NOTE: Some quantum physics theories suggest that when the consumer is not directly observing this product, it may cease to exist or will exist only in a vague and undetermined state. COMPONENT EQUIVALENCY NOTICE: The subatomic particles (electrons, protons, etc.) comprising this product are exactly the same in every measurable respect as those used in the products of other manufacturers, and no claim to the contrary may legitimately be expressed or implied. HEALTH WARNING: Care should be taken when lifting this product, since its mass, and thus its weight, is dependent on its velocity relative to the user. IMPORTANT NOTICE TO PURCHASERS: The entire physical universe, including this product, may one day collapse back into an infinitesimally small space. Should another universe subsequently re-emerge, the existence of this product in that universe cannot be guaranteed.

  9. If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the famous Erudite (comic) scientist who once said: "I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates." His mind sees things differently than most of us do. . . here are some of his gems: 1 - I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize. 2 - Borrow money from pessimists -- they don't expect it back. 3 - Half the people you know are below average. 4 - 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name. 5 - 82.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot. 6 - A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good. 7 - A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory. 8 - If you want the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain. 9 - All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand. 10 - The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese. 11 - I almost had a psychic girlfriend, ...... But she left me before we met. 12 - OK, so what's the speed of dark? 13 - How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink? 14 - If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. 15 - Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm. 16 - When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane. 17 - Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy. 18 - Hard work pays off in the future; laziness pays off now. 19 - I intend to live forever... So far, so good. 20 - If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends? 21 - Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines. 22 - What happens if you get scared half to death twice? 23 - My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder." 24 - Why do psychics have to ask you for your name. 25 - If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried. 26 - A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking. 27 - Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it. 28 - The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread. 29 - To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research. 30 - The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard. 31 - The sooner you fall behind, the more time you'll have to catch up. 32 - The colder the x-ray table, the more of your body is required to be on it. 33 - Everyone has a photographic memory; some just don't have film. 34 - If at first you don't succeed, skydiving is not for you. And the all-time favorite - 35 - If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work?
  10. Hey, I'm over 10 and this looks just too cool to pass up ... https://www.amazon.com/Thames-Kosmos-Workshop-Android-Compatible/dp/B01CNT3EGM/ Why didn't they have stuff like this when I was a lot younger!?

  12. Sounds like they saw you coming ... If it were me, I'd complain up the line to their bosses. The speed of software on your computer has no effect on the speed bits travel down the line to your computer. BTW, I use FF all the time and have noticed a small speed increase with the new version. Trouble is, everything is different now. Things don't work the way I want them to or don't work at all.
  13. <Oh great, another Moderator I need to hide from!/> Congratulations, Hooyaah. You will find that the hours are long, the pay not nearly enough, and the complaints neverending. You will also find that if you do what you love, it will never work a day in your life. I wish you the best.
  14. No, I was looking at it the other day. While physically smaller than the iPhone 7 plus I have, the display area is larger. That's about the only 'advantage' that I would appreciate. The new phone doesn't really have anything that I absolutely must have. I don't use my current phone that often, why should I pay USD $1,149.00 for the basic phone when I already have more than I need? My current contract is up next month. I will probably bask under the reduced fees for a few months before looking at upgrading again, but will probably decide the same thing. As long as my current phone gives me what I need, why bother to upgrade? "A good pun is it's own reword." "A semicolon is not a medical condition." "The mind is like a parachute, it works better when it's open." "I'm a nobody. Nobody is perfect, therefore, I'm perfect!" "There and their, they're not the same." "No matter how much you push the envelope, it'll still be stationery." "I thought growing old would take longer!" "You cannot hang out with negative people and expect to live a positive life." "I'm trying to be independent, but no one will help me."
  15. I appreciate the offer, but I much prefer my own partner. She's going to spend the weekend at our daughter's house, so we had a good long cuddle last night and got a really good night's rest.
  16. Arguing with other internet users is just marginally more productive than counting the ants in your garden. Larisa - from web comic Sandra and Woo
  17. I think I originally voted "No", but have been thinking about this after voting. What I would like to see would be a new quest to become a "Rune Master". I don't remember much about how runes work but, for the "Rune Master Quest": Level 1 (Apprentice): 100 runes must be combined. The base rune must be the same and all attributes (up to the max allowed) will be added to the base rune. If one rune has a 5% chance of something and another has a 15% chance, the new rune would have a 20% chance. Level 2 (Journeyman): After successfully merging 100 runes, you can now merge different runes. Again, you must merge another 100 runes. You can merge up to three runes at a time. The first rune will determine the base of the new rune and the subsequent runes will just add attributes. Level 3 (Master): Now when you merge runes, if the primary attribute goes over 100% or 999 or whatever the maximum attribute is, the Rune Level will get bumped up to the next level and the primary attribute will drop down to 5% or something similar. This way we could not only create a character that does our shopping, we could create a character to combine all those hard earned runes we find all over the place.

  20. Hmm, when I lick the bowl I usually end up with whatever was in the bowl all over my nose. I always lick my plate though ... and usually my bowl as well. Must maintain my svelte figure.
  21. I don't have any need for portability any more, so a desktop is the only thing I will get in the future unless my needs change. Something to think about, no matter what system you get, is backup. Are you going to backup a 4 TB HD to 3 1/4" floppies? I find the external docking stations I have to be very convenient. The only problem I have with them is that sometimes, when I've powered off my system, it tries to boot from the USB3 external HD plugged into the cradle when I power up. Not a big deal, I turn off the docking station or go into boot order and select the proper drive. It would work for a desktop or a laptop.
  22. "The problem with today's world is that everyone believes they have the right to express their opinion AND have others listen to it. The correct statement of individual rights is that everyone has the right to an opinion, but crucially, that opinion can be roundly ignored and even made fun of, particularly if it is demonstratively nonsense."
