  1. Talking about the arm cannon! Firing on opponents outside melee range. I am sure (for me) that Combat Art "works".
  2. Thas the one! Hrmph, I thought that 13-15 were unique/legendary only, but I guess some rares are found in these levels?
  3. REGEN TIMES: Not an elf expert by any means, but what level is your Grand Invigoration? It should have as many runes read as possible (was my highest priority as HE). You should be using GI as second buff, not Fire Demon! Demon can be added for 3rd buff when you get to level 75. Have you read any more than 1 rune in your Combat Art's, especially fireskin? DAMAGE issue: I apologise but I am not fully understanding your issue. Your Elf is level 25 or 26, but it takes 10-20 Blazing Tempest to kill them? We need to know what Combat Art you are using! I understand in the Orc region, some orcs have fire resistance, and the enemies in the caves under Seraphim Island have a lot of fire resistance, but that cannot be your main issue if you are in Silver difficulty. What level is your Arrant Pyromancer Lore?
  4. I have observed for console version, damage lore DOES indeed, definitely (yes, I'm sure) the CHANCE of secondary effect with Source Warden spells (Firey Ember easiest to test). I have not taken DL to mastery (aborted due to this research) to see if damage and duration work, but I am willing to accept Vacalf's testing and observations that is does not work for console version. Since I am a retard, and cannot link to SIF properly, if you click on the link above and in the SIF post, there is another link found in his skills section to Damage Lore testing that was done by some individuals on SIF. I believe their testing was done in PvP, if that makes any difference in how DoT works with Ice and Blood version.
  5. I guess from Sacred International Forums, that uniques and legendaries have their own "tiers" of rarity. My Blood Dryad swords were mostly collected by my seraphim with EP maxed at all times. I imagine the extra MF from high EP helped me collect some of the "rarer" uniques. I've been hunting for the topic over there, mostly for my own reference, but I know there's a link to it somewere here in DM Forums! I've played co-op with my EP seraphim but I was avoiding collecting anything, so I cannot say I have observed that trend. Could be true.... but from what I've noticed is that most of the loot is "reserved" for one player or another - and from what I've researched on the way Sacred works the split of loot, it is pretty random, although on-class items are typically reserved for the appropriate toon. I think gold and potions aren't reserved, but I could be wrong about that. Try using your "whatzit" button (L3 on PS3) - the one that tells you the name of enemies and resistances, etc. It will say "reserved" (for you) or "locked" (for your buddy). Those timers are 20s, and after that it's common loot (whoever gets to it first). If it doesn't say reserved or locked, it is common loot.
  6. Actually, the practical side has shown me that my thoughts about the Combat Art damage being less that left-click is wrong. Theory and testing can be so confusing with this game! Although the Overview showed damage was higher with a regular attack, compared to Combat Art damage from Combat Art screen, when a Combat Art such as DB or FR is used, both weapons get a chance to hit, it is just the main-hand weapon stats (and attribute modifier) that determines the damage done by BOTH weapons! Prime example is using a dagger in the off-hand. When I use DB, if both attacks "hit" the damage will be exactly the same for each hit!
  7. I'm going to safely assume that most people take Combat Discipline for the boost in damage it provides, and since you're getting the skill for that purpose you might as well take advantage of the secondary effect of regen reduction provided by the skill. Probably a safe assumption. I will get it for mine because of the 3rd Combat Art in the combo. Sweep/Rampage/Rallied Souls and Command/Spree/Fortress are planned. I would like to try Guidion/Vault/Rampage to see how it functions on console. I've found that mixing targeted and untargeted (or spacial targeting) don't mix well. I'll see. Ooh, double-post! Argh, here comes the ................run! ooh, I see. Nice effect merging my D-P. I tried offline coop on PS3, with Veil as only buff. Levelling up with a level 103 in niob, any spell affect hitting by friend insta-RIPs me. So I don't think it's a bug. If you play perma-veiled, I believe solo is the way to go.
  8. As I see it, if there was one there, then I would know where I was on the "dangerclass 10" counter! another 500 to go, eh? Fully not expecting to ever get 4-star to drop on my PS3. Reverse psychology against Karma. Oops, did I just ruin it?
  9. Uniques under level 10, Cool! Yes, I am also of the opinion that the lower-levelled unique jewellery is jank. I forgot about quest items being whatever level you are at! Thanks! No, I've not used the Officer's myself ("I" haven't got any!) the first one I collected on the profile that I gifted my buddy I did use, but at the time, it was the best weapon I had ever seen. By far. ( A long time ago in a Sacred universe far, far away ie before I found the wiki. Actually, to tell the truth if I got an Officer's now, I would definitely use it because I have Stalworth Safeguards at all the "strategic" levels so it would be perfect for AFK SB farming....
  10. Great job, Loco... A couple of details ** there are some enemy TYPES that have better chance to drop certian items. The one that seems to be well-known is Energy-type dropping jewellery (rings and amulets) more than weaps or armour. Answer to #9 is yes, definitely. BUT, the lowest-level (known) uniques are level 10 for weapons and 15 for armour. My lowest-level 3-star ring is level 26, but I'm sure they pop up lower than that... SO, for a level 5 to find a unique weapon, you'd have to be killing at least level 10 enemies. Et Cetera for set pieces and jewelery. I got a wonderful story about unique gathering, this is a good place to share, I guess: My first profile, which I gifted to my friend to give him a good starting chest, etc, I had collected an Officer's Saber. MAYBE 2. Since it was pretty low level, all his characters were using it ASAP. Now he's got 6 or 7, and has sold a couple of more because they were triplicates. He just got his first Blood Dryad sword. My new profile I have NEVER gotten Officer's Saber yet. I do have 6 or 7 Blood Dryad Swords (although I haven't used any!) Looking at Loco's link to uniques, there is still 4 I haven't seen at all! Moral of the story: Don't get your mind set on getting any specific unique!
  11. So, the dual-wield test I did with my lowlevel Shadow Warrior: Attributes: STR: +41 damage bonus DEX: +31 damage INT: +31 damage I thought about socketing in INT or DEX ring to change them, but that was moot point for this test. Weapons: Sword: 41-51 dmg (STR bonus) Saber: 39-48 dmg (STR bonus) Mage Staff: 41-48 dmg (INT bonus) Shortsword: 41-49 dmg (DEX bonus) Combinations and results (main-hand listed first): __________________Reg. Dmg_________Demonic Blow______Spectral Hand Saber and Sword:____280-348__________no test______________150-185 Sword and Saber:____280-348__________231-289_____________157-197 Mage Staff and Sword:267-317__________216-253_____________147-172 Shortsword and Sword:270-329_________215-257______________146-175 Bonus section: I quickly checked my level 35 Shadow Warrior: Khandar's Slicer (52-72 dmg) Orc Shock (47-64 dmg) Regular damage is now 433-596, with DB = 331-451 and SH = 201-274 with the Orc Shock and with DB = 348-487 and SH = 213-298 with the Slicer. Of note is that I haven't been trying to keep Combat Art's at penalty level, just paying attention to regen time with this guy. But I can see it's going to take some attention now that the Combat Art damage is starting to catch the regular attack damage.
  12. Since starting another one up, and hearing him say that again, I thought about it. And had a good laugh, myself! Sigma - I've only seen 3 or so, and one had a silver slot. Since they're mostly just 1 and 2-star swords available (when you have high barg.) from the merchant, you're just looking for one with a certian "picture". So I imagine with enough patience, you can find anything on it you want!
  13. There should be lots out there! Any that I have found are really just junk with a cool graphical illustration.
  14. Yes... I have realized that! I am in agreement with Chattius that COCE = "sure hits". The chance that your swing connects regardless of your attack value, or the opponents defense or evasion. That is to say, with 100% COCE, it is impossible to miss your target. I've been putting this off for now; it is quite fustrating using the hit chance calculator when my last opponents only list 3 at a time. It has made getting a good sample size extremely tedious, not to mention when an entire page of stats gets chucked in the garbage (accidentally) on you!
  15. Combat Alert works on your arm cannon attacks, yes. Not entirely sure with the damage bonus, but the +attack value% definitely applies. Ach, I see! I think if you're only worried about playing thru silver & just having a fun time with the game, you really don't need to be overly worried about too much other than keeping your equipment up-to date. (HINT: Bargaining) As a combat supporter, you have a couple of wonderful Combat Art's to help your friend, Combat Alert and Charged Grid. Just be sure not to make Combat Alert a buff, since it would be the Party modifier you want for the 3rd (gold) mod on Alert. Choose the healing mod on Charged Grid, and keep both Combat Art's as high a level as you can.
  16. Ok, so I started a new toon to test this out. Forgot my numbers at home but I have concluded that for dual-weilding, regular attacks WILL ADD the attribute bonuses (to hit and damage) to each weapon individually. That is to say, you get 2 "attacks" for each left-click (pressing the button your weapon is slotted to on console). Each attack calculates seperately, using the appropriate attribute if different weaps are being used. I remember reading somewhere that both hits are dependent on the main-hand, and that is true for Combat Art's (see below), but I've seen main hand miss/second hand connect with regular attacks. Damage converters slotted in weapons - only right-hand weapon is used... but initial test is inconclusive. It's hard to tell because with limited testing as I'm not inflicting the DoT's very often (of the poison/fire that I was testing with). The overview only ever shows the main-hand damage conversion... Combat arts use only the attrubute bonuses of the weapon in your right hand for determining CtH, damage. At low levels, you get more damage using regular attacks when dual weilding, and I am still working on when the Combat Art damage surpasses the damage from the off-hand weapon. All mods on the off-hand weapon apply normally to Combat Art attacks (I was testing life leech, attribute increases, RpH) Again, limited testing, on console.
  17. Sorry, playing PS3 but offline only. Reading about the PSN nonsense has really put me off from even considering going online with my PS3. OH, and the $500 satellite system I would need to even hook up to internet from my home. 8( Welcome to the boards! if you have questions, everyone here will try to help where they can! Ha Ha but the $500 PS3 is a necessary expense, huh? My closest neighbour is 2 miles away, so... kinda... yeah? Good point, though... I just value "online" quite differently than offline gaming. One-time expenses (system, games) as opposed to montly bills adding up (connection fees, etc, etc, etc, etc). Also blu-ray is very nice. Was quite worth it for that alone when PS3 debut, which I got mine pretty close to release. I think I waited 9-12 months.
  18. Well, I noticed recently while shopping for my current char (level 83 shopper, Barg=260-ish, in Niob), that rare weapons were being offered with the mono-channel damage % modifier. With about the same numbers (I found Fire +56% and Poison +60%) so I snatched them up! Then this thread comes along, and I'm thinking whats' the big deal? just shop out some rare ones (might need a REALLY lucky run to find "same-channel" damage % and chance for secondary effect like the aforementioned weapons). But obviously, that is not the case on PC. Maybe for one of the patches, that modifier was made a lot less likely to drop/appear on dropped items? Or they made it stop "spawning" on new items, so it only exists on PC for items that were already created and in the game? As to the usefulness of this modifier, I immediately equipped the axe with the 60%poison, threw in a Poison fang and it had a dramatic effect on my kill speed in the orc lands. So I believe that the % increase in poison is calculated after the damage converter IN THE WEAPON. Gloves may be different, or might be the same. Not too sure about those.
  19. So I decided to try the egg again, and managed to kill it... without life leech! Using Firey Ember seemed to do the trick for PS3 playing, although collecting the loot will take some more work. I tried using Propelled Levitation and managed to get close enought that my pickup all ring SHOULD'VE gotten the loot! No dice. The gold and everything else just sat there and taunted me. This was in Silver, Guardians were level 76, looked in the last opponent screen, and the egg's HP was 1, with 136 attack value, 0 defense, and no damage or armour ratings (level 75). Yet it took 7-10 Firey Ember activations to poach the egg? I did it twice, just because I was pressed for time, so I'll figure out more detail later. I console glitches... Gogo, was there a particular Combat Art you had in mind, since my original thought of a "jump" Combat Art doesn't seem to be panning out. I still gotta try all sorts of weird controller button pushes, etc.
  20. The low-level toon will affect the enemy level. Such a big difference will greatly lower the levels, probably to the enemies "minimum level". I bet you noticed that all the enemies you were killing were "low" experience. What colour were the target circles? If they were white, you need to advance the campaign to a more difficult area of Ancaria to make the enemies tougher. Tougher (higher-level) enemies give more experience Now, bear in mind that experience gained (either "per kill" or "quest experience") is scaled to character level. If you are getting 350 experience. from killing an orc with your level 42, your level 1 will only be getting 50-75 (I'm guessing here) experience for that same kill. The experience is not split, just scaled. Powerlevelling the way you describe works fine, in fact if you use the VD exploit in the desert, you should be able to gain quite a few levels fot your new toon very quickly. Just watch the enemy levels. Just a hint - make sure you take your low-level to mount island to get them a mount as well before trying the Viperish Disease in desert. Be warned that the low-level will probably die if you're not extremely careful. Controlling both toons by oneself is not too hard, with a little practice!
  21. Skylar - Schot meant 2-star items in his post. On the PC, the item name is yellow in colour for rare items. On console 3-star is unique and 4 Legendary.
  22. Of course we would have to find a Kaldurs first...Ive never even seen one But you're right, dual kaldurs owuld be the peak of killing Seriously, everyone is always mentioning these weapons and other items that I've never seen. Although I was fortunate enough to pick up a Khander's Slicer (in reply above). Anyone know of any rare 2H weaps and where they drop? I am currently working on a 2H-seraphim and she owns, but I want to stay up to date with the best weapon. I am currently using a sword from the Blind Guardian quest, the one with +%chance to find valuables. And its got 2 Gold sockets and 1 Silver. I made the thing ridiculously good. Its pretty awesome. Especially with Archangel's Wrath! XD All unique / rare items drop "almost" randomly from any monster in Ancaria. There are some types of monsters that drop certian item types (ie the energy-type monsters dropping rings and amulets) but generally if you're looking for good 2H swords, any monster can drop you a unique or rare 2H sword.
  23. Just to compliment Barris' remark... Most character builds (that are posted here) are quite capable of bosskilling. Some are not so good at it... usually that is stated in the guide/build. There are 7-8 mainquest bosses PLUS the guardians at the endfight. There are quite a few "side" or mini-bosses that are not necessary to compete the campaign(s), and a couple of them in Barris' post are not available on console version. The ones he marked as Ice and Blood, and the Fire Lord, Poison Lord are not in our "version" of the game. The mainquest bosses (in order) are Gar'Colossus, Octogolomous, a Dragon (which one depends on Light or Shadow Campaign), Carnach, **Swirling Mist of Miasma**, Garganthopod, Kral of the Winged Demons, Facettelion, Nimrouil, and the 4 Nameless Guardians (endfight). There is a "pinned" topic at the top of the PC General Discussion regarding the bosses, with map and links to the wiki! Happy hunting!
  24. I was giving your idea some thought today, and just my luck, THIS pops up! Have a few read-throughs, post your thoughts and questions over there. It is unfortunate that Damage Lore is not fully working on console versions. To fit in Source Warden aspect like you want to do, I would suggest that you substitute SWF and SWL in for Damage Lore and Enhanced Perception. If you are completely against using Devout Guardian aspect, this complicates things by a factor of 10. Maybe 100. Combat Alert (which becomes Battle Aura when made into a buff) and T-Energy Shield are just too good not to use. I agree that in a team setting, Ded. Blow, Battle Ext. and Deathly Spears are probably not needed.
  25. Wow. This is just awesome. *****/5 for sure. Wonderful attention to detail for us poor console players! Makes me a sad panda to finally have verification that damage lore does not do very much for console version. I was completely unimpressed with it, the %chance was nice, but I wasn't getting the extra damage... There was never any doubt in my mind LF could be a wonderful aspect when the proper modifications are chosen.
