Changing account name

Hey all,

 

with the new roster coming up and the links to that dreadful piece of **** they like to call the ladder (sorry, I'm just very frustrated with that site, I can't get it to work properly) I'd like to see my account name changed. Currently, it's toimoi but I'd like to see it changed to Timotheus, just like the account names I have here and the SIF. However, I can't find who or what to contact for that. Does anyone have some inside information on that?

Originally my account name was [D.a.r.k] something or other

 

Thing was, in those days I didn't have the auto filler in tool for loggin in, and loggin in was a pain and I was always making mistakes. I contacted Koch Media via email, and the very nice person on the other end changed my account in one day.

 

HOpe it's still as fast.

p.s. I don't have the email addy here off hand, I'll take a look for it, but I think it's somewhere in our game manual that came internally with the game.

Turns out I cannot change my account name to Timotheus. I knew there was a reason for that: it's taken already.

Sweet jesus, they reply fast enough but they at least could be helpful. Why do they send out replies like this:

 

Dear Timo,

 

unfortunately we don't understand why you ask us to change your login as no

other players sees that login name ... you can only be seen by other players

with your character, provided you created one - so far you didn't create one.

 

 

 

It started like this: I asked them the following:

 

Hello,

I registered for Sacred 2 online play with an alias I rarely use; I would like to change it to the nickname people know me by. My current Sacred 2 account name is "toimoi", if possible I would like to see it changed to "Timotheus" (both without quotation marks, obviously).

 

This was their reply:

 

Dear Timo,

thank you for your inquiry.

Unfortunately your login can't be changed to Timotheus as this name is already in use by another player.

 

But generally your name "toimoi" is only needed to login. Other players can see you only with your character thas will use another name.

 

So I asked them to change it to Timo. And they won't do it, see above.

Why bother to try the first time and then start the "lie down on the couch and tell me about it" after that.

I bought the game, where's ma support! I'm gonna try again

zomgod, I'd a pitched a fit if I'd gotten an email back like that.

 

I'd respond back and now predicate with following.

 

Hi, my friend Carolyn Hacker from SIF advised me ....

 

or

 

My friend Anca from SIF advised me that it was possible to have my account name changed blah blah blah....

 

use another name to open the door a bit hopefully that'll help.

p.s. now actually that I'm thinking back I think I predicated my letter with...can't get into my account... And from there I told them that I wanted my password changed plus my account name changed.

Maybe I should try asking for an account reset/removal... All my chars are dead anyways.

The responses were within 24h before, I hope they can help me out as fast again now.

I tried to be polite but they make it kinda hard. This isn't service...

 

Hi,

 

You were very fast with replies on previous emails, which I appreciate

a lot, but I don't get any response on the explanation you apparently

need to change an account name.

So, just give me a complete account removal. Then I'll figure out by

myself what I'll do with a new account, because this service isn't

being very helpful so far.

Should you want to help out though: please change my account name to

[Timotheus87] or [Timo], without brackets.

 

Either delete my account (and enable me to try creating a new account

for myself) or change it, thank you.
