Facetteleon - How do you beat him?

Recommended Posts

Thank you,wolfie2kX

Unfortunately the hirelinks are not from Eloeth-Sun quest.I did all quests there.I think my hirelinks are from different quests. Two of the men are dressed like being from the desert region..but I have two failed quests there, and all others are finished..Is it possible that they are from a failed quest? And will they always be with me?

The other is a boy, named Alexander and I think he wanted me to rescue his cat from a cave but I forgot where was that(in what city)..

And the last one is named Herbert ...but I have no memories at all about him. He keeps saying "let's not waste time"...

I keep trying to figure them out..but it's not as easy as I thought.

Yep.. As Lujate said - the boy's cat is in a cave west of Griffinborough (you've had him with you since you entered the human territory?) He's positioned to be pretty much the first quest giver you meet when you get into Artamark if you're playing the light, 2nd quest giver if you're playing shadow.

His quest is simple enough - you go into the cave and confront a number of bandits - who congratulate the kid on luring you into the cave and that he'll make a proper bandit someday yet. So you wipe the floor with them and then you, the kid and the cat need to head to Griffinborough to talk to his teacher. Once you've dropped him off at the school his quest should be complete.

Now.. As for Herbert... the name rings a bell - just not very clearly as to where. Unfortunately, I haven't spent nearly enough time in the Desert area to have memorized all the quests there.

I play light, bronze..

Recently, I use to jump on my map wherever I see quests that I haven't completed and do them to gain xp..overall I've done 350 quests by far..

I know, I play like typical woman jumping from place to place and from region to region.. :Just_Cuz_21:

What happens with the failed quests? And the escorts, hirelinks?

Well.. Not sure what would happen, but I'd recommend popping back to Griffinborough and seeing if you can find the kid's cat and at least get rid of half your burden.

As far as Herbert goes... I'm still not quite sure where he's from. I looked through my High Elf's logs for the Dryad island and the desert regions and found no one named Herbert. So I have no idea where he's from.

Hi there.

There are a couple of options.

A). If Herbert can be injured, and you want to just get rid of him rather than solve his quest, then just let him get killed. Unfortunately, there are some hirelings/escorts that are immune to damage !

B). If you check through and come back here with a list of unsolved quests you still have in your logbook, then between us, we can have a go at helping you solve Herberts quest. BUT, a big help will be if you can give us the proper name/names of the quests you have, and also the chapter you picked them up.

Cheers,

Steve. :)

EDIT :- I've been searching around the desert, and can't find anyone called Herbert offering a quest. It is, of course, possible that I may have missed him somewhere in the desert, but I think that he is either somewhere else, or a class specific quest ( I was searching using my seraphim )

Ya know.. A thought struck me when I read your post. My high elf went thru that area and pretty much cleared it out and you've done the same with the seraphim and have had similar luck... I don't recall any Herberts when I went thru the area with my inquistor either.

Maybe it's part of the class quest for the Dryad...?

I don't know. My dryad is still languishing in the human territories whilst I play through with other characters... It'll take me quite some time to get to the Desert region.

The Sacred Wiki is pretty much useless with regard to this matter as the Dryad's class quest is far, far from complete. There is only one reference to anything with the name "Herbert" in the wiki as well. And that is a reference to a quote on a statue.

Dont know if its same for console but on PC when I hover mouse over hirelling hes name is turning into quest name. Just a hint

Wow, I never knew that ! Good spot Elwin my friend. I will be trying that out for myself later.

Lelopexa is playing on the Xbox 360, so she will have to let us know how she get's on.

Come on Lelo', don't leave us hanging ! :BlobRed:

That must be nice! If there is any way to do that on the consoles, I have never found it.

Not quite sure - but doesn't one of the joysticks/pads on your controller move a cursor type thing around so you can pick and choose things to pick up? or perhaps a barrel or something to open? I'd try moving that onto a hireling to see if that works...

AFAIK, there is no way to get a pointer. The only way to pick things up is by picking up everything within a large circle (and that same button activates monoliths and talks to NPC's, so you have to be careful where you are standing).

Well, I've done what cider_steve suggested and looked over my quest log.

All my class quests are finished.

I've noticed that I have a lot of unfinished quests in Chapters I and II. So I went back there and guess what...I solved Herbert's quest...it was in Whisperwood and he wanted a book from a cave. So Herbert is history. Alexander got his cat, but still, the two guys that look to me like being from the desert are still hanging around. And they don't die...no way. And they have no names.

So, here are all my failed quests...but when I read them, they are failed cause someone I should have escorted has died, so being dead...it can not be any of the two tough guys.

Ok.

I am naming all my failed quests.

Chapter 9

Priest Ordination

The Medallion of wrath

Chapter 8

none failed

Chapter 7

Adventure tours

Salesman of death

THe lost caravan

Salvaging the goods

Magic blunder

Chapter 6

Hydra tongues

Water samples

Go home

The family grave

Halkul

The competition

Chapter 5

The one who made it

Chapter 4

none failed

Chapter 3

Master of the hunt

Chapter 2

Pawn sacrifice

Her last will

Frightened guard

Heavy burden

Chapter 1

Bandits

The sick hermit

Unexpected news

A lot of failures

So basically now I am finishing the quests from chapters I and II and hope that I'll somehow solve the quest of the two accompanying me..

I may take a picture of them but I'm not sure will that help.

Well, first, gratz on completing Herbert's quest.

Second, for your remaining npc's, it is odd. If they ARE from a failed quest, then they should dissapear once you log out and then back in.

I can only guess that they are bugged, or you still have a quest to finish.

I assume you checked all quest :- Mainline, side, and also class ?

Steve. :)

EDIT :- I don't think there are too many human escort quests in the desert. The main one I can think of is picked up in the town of El-Darrag. The quest is called 'Take the initiative' and you have to help three escorts attack a bandit boss ( or close to that description, from memory ). I was wondering if you have done that quest ? Maybe one of the three dies before the end of the quest, and for some reason the final two got bugged and follow you around ?!?!

I'll keep my thinking cap on. Over and out ! ;)

I saw your list, and I thought... this'll be easy! Just look at the quest page in the wiki and the answer should be easy to find.

Well, notsomuch. Working from chapter 9 backward, I only found 1 quest (ironically, "the one who made it", lol) in the wiki. :(

So, I would be pretty sure to say that the desert guys are from a desert-quest... which is chapter 7, but aside from that I cannot help too much more, mostly due to the swiss-cheese memory of mine ;)

So can u suggest which weapon should be best for the crystal boss? I tried the hollowshot- didn't work, maybe the Officer's saber was better. What do I need to build on more?

Never use a blowpipe against Facetteleon, for some reason he is very difficult to hit with them.

As far as the hirelings are concerned, there is another quest in the desert region which can give you 3 or 4 followers. I am not sure about the quest name so I took a screenshot and marked it. One thing to note about the quest is that when you get to the area marked with circle, you have to kill several enemies before the quest is given. What happens sometimes, is that you can get the followers without killing all of the enemies and you have to restart and go to the same place to get the quest.

EDIT: If the above happens then the followers can't die and there will be a marker on the map but nothing happens when you get there.

Hope this helps.

Ok.. You said they're dressed in desert garb... That would tend to limit things to that region or the Dryad region - which we've already determined is done.

Out of the quests you've listed as being unfinished, we can rule out Adventure Tours. That's one guy you have to escort from the beach town of Turbak to East Turbak to the Scorpion Island and then back to Captain Jack - he's dressed in High Elf clothes - so it's not the one.

Not sure about Salesman of Death - but I believe that's a single escort. So it's not the one.

Then there's The Lost Caravan and Salvaging the Goods. These ring a bell.. Actually, Salvaging the Goods is a subquest of The Lost Caravan chain quest. If I recall correctly, In Salvaging the Goods, you and a team of guys go to the site of the lost caravan that was destroyed and retrieve anything they can and then deliver the salvaged goods back to Khorum. I'd look at this particular quest as being the source of your entourage.

After you've done those, there are a couple of quests left on the chain. You're asked to visit the town of Badawi, talk to someone who might know where the scarabs come from, get him a bottle (he's an alcoholic, apparently and needs his "special medicine"...) Then you get the coordinates to the cave - which is near the alchemist's house in the north end of the desert. You finally have to go in and eliminate the scarab's nest.

Благодаря, Иво!

I did this quest today, following your map..but it was not connected with those two I have hanging with me..

My xbox map is slightly different from the one in the Sacredwiki.

Hm, I did that with the bottle..but about my failed quests..I can not do nothing about them...they are not unfinished...they are failed and I can't activate them..

Maybe I have quests which I still haven't received..I have to look around more thoroughly..

Sorry to bother you all with my disorientation :(

I killed him... :cow_white: and then I killed the others and then the game finished...I watched all the credits and then... it made me to choose..to continue, to start a new game or to choose another character. What's next? What shall I do? Continue..gaming but with no quests? Or start a new game...If I start would I be able to use my current toon, level 42?

What shall I do? :Just_Cuz_21:

Continue is only worth if u have some quest to do, like famous Epic Office quest. Other thing coing on my mind would be finshing game too early and being too low for next diffculty. But it will not happen on lower difficulties.

Definetly go next diffculty ! Yes your character will be saved.

Many congratulations to you.

My personal advice would be, to try another class. It will be nice for you to try out something else. You already know that you are good with the dryad class. I really like the Seraphim. A nice melee class with some fun Combat Arts. Or maybe you might try the HE, with some wicked spells, like meteor shower.

Got out there and have fun, Lelo.

Thank you all for the words of advice. I did start a new game, on silver difficulty. I decided to continue developing my Dryad and see what will happen...

I'm determined to make the most of it..now it's much better..kobolds even give me a three number experience :twitch: and I keep leveling fast ( finally ) and receive more good items..

Wow,silver is much better.. :BlobRed: :BlobRed:

Yes, actually there is no much use in playing bronze, few first levels only if character has hard start. When u start new character at bronze enemies will fast became below your level while on siilver even kobolds at sloeford can rise up with you to level around 39. My first char finished bronze with every quest done at level 46. My second char started silver I only did quest at 1st and 2nd chapter and then I did main quest only as fast as can get. Finished level 52 while skipping 3/4 of the map ;p
