New Dragon Mage Combat Arts for Sacred Wiki

Hey!

 

I noticed there are some DM Combat Arts that doesn't appear in wiki. They're the Dragon Mode ones:

 

Dragon Form:

DMCA_16.gif Jump

 

DMCA_14.gif Fireball

 

DMCA_11.gif Change Back

 

Dragon Berserk:

 

DMCA_13.gif Lacerate

 

DMCA_12.gif Frenzy

 

DMCA_11.gif Change Back

 

And maybe there's another one. It would be interesting to add them. They have their own mechanics and they're a bit different from normal Combat Arts.

I had noticed they were lacking also when I was working on the Sacred Sim. I never added them because I was unsure on the translations.

 

I remember one for fireball, but I also remember seeing one that, directly translated, was teleport and another that had it's name formatted like a mount Combat Art that I believe translated as jump. The word was "sprung" or something along those lines.

 

Also, so far I've only favored high elves and haven't yet delved into DMs yet to know how their dragon form Combat Arts level. If they level through skillN runes in the transform skillN etc

Berzerker form and dragon form seem a bit weird. It looks like only your level and the Combat Art-Level define how powerful the transformation is. You transform into a totally new body with new skills and no equipment and just the potions remain as usable.

If you had alchemy then trophies can be used, but alchemy skill is not affecting them. They are just unlocked, no duration or power boost from alchemy. So if you plan to use demonteeth to recharge dragon-Combat Art's with RpH (regeneration per hit) you need a lot of them (20s per trophy is not really a lot of time).

 

There is a german modding thread to make transforms useful at higher levels by editing spells.txt.

There was a thread on these forums I'll have to see if I can dig up on what the values in the spells.txt file represent. It shouldn't be too hard to mod it to make it useful since it would likely just be needing the focus and lore skills changed. However you can change just about anything about it. I would be willing to assist development on a project like that, in english. Though modding this file would prevent online play and patching

Definitely a much needed addition. :P I've been wanting to add them as well but man there's just so many things going on, lol. I remade the images I sent you that are in your first post Munera. I didn't really like the look of them. I'm so picky...

 

As far as where to place them I think that using the same idea as the way buffs are done could work here. Except maybe to make them different they could be put under the Combat Art description so that they're styled differently than buffs.

 

Created a sample for Dragon Berserk on the Dragon Magic. If you'd like to do the Dragon Form Munera, be my guest. It's kinda fun. :D The images are already on the bucket.

 

 

Oh and as for their possibly being one other Dragon form Combat Art there is another icon. I think it was supposed to be for the Berserk form and act like the Belligerent Vault Combat Art. Not sure what happened to it. The German name for this one is Travel Sprung(Jump in English).

I don't know, heh. I don't think it is in the game. It's an extra image I guess. I got the image from the game files. It might be in the spells.txt though. I didn't check that. You could search for "sprung" in Spells.txt if you're curious.

Have you changed all DM minipics or just the dragon mode ones?

Are you thinking in making the dragon mode Combat Arts but in normal size? It would be good to appear in the specific Combat Art article.

 

p.s.: I haven't made any changes yet cos I can't get in photobucket. It says: We are generating your list. Check back in a couple minutes. and it's been 2 hours like that :P

That's how it appears in the spells.txt and was the one I was referring to in my previous post.

 

The aspect part is what I meant by it being similar to a mount ability.

I haven't changed them all yet but when I do I'll make sure to use just overwrite the present versions. That way you can use the ones we have now and later I'll update them. As for the larger versions of those I'll have them up in a few hours.

 

Yeah, photobucket has been acting strange since they added that function. When that happens try going directly to the folder you want view instead of from the account home page.

Ah right. I missed that part of your earlier post Amble. Good catch. Is it the jump Combat Art icon for when the DM is on horseback then? I haven't played the DM much at all; my experience with him is very limited.

I added the Combat Arts to the Dragon Form section. Fireball page already exists, maybe gogo put some info for Ancestral Fireball and forgot to delete it...

I actually have no idea myself. I've only played a DM for about 5 minutes. I thought initially that it was something from him using his dragon abilities while on his unique mount. That's why I never bothered working on the calculation formulae for them. I had no idea what they were for.

 

Also, to point out, in the spells.txt file there's a spell from every aspect that is disabled for each class.

At first I thought maybe they were spell effects that had to be written as spells... something similar to the fire demon having his own entry as well as his fireball having it's own.

 

Perhaps the only people that could really answer are the ones that don't work on it anymore :)
