mosie 0
I play with sacred 2 ice and blood with fullpatch (elit pack) and mod. and the graphique option full in game and the filtering fix max in catalist. and about 5 a 10 min (when I wallk in a gig texture environement) the game freez ( not the system, juste sacred aplication) Its beacause the aplication is limited at 1.3 1.5G of ram (I have 16G ram in my config). I have test lots solution for fix IT: in option.txt I have make: manager = { animMem = 0, grannyMem = 0, pmsMem = 0, secMem = 0, sptMem = 0, texMem = 0, 0 for unlimited ram use, but no good result Whene I use more litle filtering, no probleme because the texture is more big ... If you have a solution for UP the ram aplication limit .... And its not my computer OR win 7 64 problem. Link to comment
dreeft 9
Mine does this as well, roughly 1.3Gb. I'm running Win 7 64bit also. Definitely interested in a solution. Link to comment

Gumby 3
I go test ...I have test and whene sacred use more 1.35 ram now aplication not freez but crash. héhé That's NOTHING ! I had 4 gigs of ram and it would use about 52% of it then I had the bright idea (because they were on sale) to get 2 more gigs so now it ONLY uses about 50% of the total RAM I also have a GeForce card that has 1 gig of video ram on it and still when I get back to windows eveything runs slower then my first PC which was a 486D and I think it had maybe 16Megs of ram? I've come to one conclusion when it comes to this game and that is : It's really not meant to be played it's not a game after all. It's just a virtual environment in which your just susposed to walk around in and marvel at how pretty things look like the flowers, the butterflies , the buildings...etc. To have it function as a game should, you know with out all them pesky bugs and freeze-ups which they call "Features" is just asking too much and is sacrilegious in their eyes. I don't think it has ever..... you should be able to run at standard texture with no physx and high setting without crashing your system. Link to comment
mosie 0
I don t whant play with litle graphique option and my 2x5970 in CF and a 9800gtx for physix 2 qx9775 16G ram .... I want play with full option. Yes with litle graphique option the game not bug but its not interesting, not beautiful ... I prefer find a solution for up the aplication ram limit. Dragon Brother 619
I think the issue with the elite textures is the rate at which they need to be streamed from your hard drive, so after a while, or whenever you enter a city the extra load on your game drops you like youve been hit with a 9iron. Furian67 15
Is there anyway we can find out what kinda systems Ascaron used when they were making the game? I know we have a few guys around here with access to some of the Ascaron Devs. Is there anyway the pros could throw us a bone? Link to comment
FrostElfGuard 9
Ascaron had partnered up with Dell during development, and NVIDIA. I bought my current system in advance of the release of the game... specifically so that when the game came out I could load it and make the game sing (play really well). Though I exceeded the requirements (and at least one Ascaron employee thought my system was amazing) , the game didn't sing. Dell, NVIDIA, those are my meager bones for you. Link to comment
Thorium 115
There are 2 problems: 1st: As a 32bit program Sacred 2 is limited to a 2GB memory address space. Just enabling "large address awareness" (which is what the tool does) is not enough. 2nd: the memory manager of Sacred 2 is just FECAL MATTER!ty You can do nothing about it. Link to comment

Well that's the reality of it I guess. What would happen if we reduced the memorry manager settings to something below 1.5 TB? edit: lol I meant 1.5 Gb Link to comment
czevak 57
Has anyone tried the CTRL+F1 memoryrefresh? Does it help? (If it does, you can use marcuswobs Sacred 2 loader, and configure it to send CTRL+F1 in regular intervals to the game.) Link to comment
