Take ice age (we have 5 kids so I really know all 3). My kid loved Sid. But this was mainly because of the funny speaking of the sychronizer. This got so far that in ice age 3 the american speaker imitated the german synchron speaker. Or Tony Curtis or Bud Spencer, more success in germany than in their original countries because they had funny real good sychronizing speakers which were allowed to stay away from textbook if they thought that it would be better to improvise. It seems a rule that most regisseurs did their best movies before they went famous. So I use to watch Free-TV programs and they do old or early works because it is cheaper.
