[Patch Problems] 2.34.0 Patching fails

After 24 hours of trying to download and trying to patch the game , after I installed and reinstaled the game 2 times, ive been dissapointed, almost saying no more of this, but I still want to continue. Normaly this post should go to the original game forums, but ive choosed this one instead because of the fast answearing, If its possible to help me in this matter.

 

Error saying: The instalation cannot continue because the Sacred 2 files have been modified/damaged ( I dont know for sure since the game is in italian and I aint italian I only translate it form what ive know) please reinstall Sacred 2. <- This happens at 99% of cheking the files when I try to Install the 2.34.00 patch.

Problems - The patch fails (Patch version that fails : 2.34.0), after reaching 100% goes back o 99% and give me a error saying: The instalation cannot continue because the Sacred 2 files have been modified/damaged ( I dont know for sure since the game is in italian and I aint italian I only translate it form what ive know) please reinstall Sacred 2.

What is the original version of your game?

 

Try redownloading the patch, preferably from a different server. You could also try running the Sacred 2 update utility, found inside the folder you have installed Sacred 2 in.

 

But with my experience with patch issues, I'm sorry, but I think you are looking at a reinstall of the game at least once in order to get the thing patched.

Already did it twice and as for looking to redownload Why? lol it doesnt matter where u download its the same thing, because this is the most stupid patch I ever seen in the history of patches, making a cheking of the files, normaly they change putting viruses and other things, even a 1 before a 0 in the C++ in one file might make this crap failing, I think the developers are to stupid , basicly they should chek the files that could be hacked not the whole game.

 

As for the original version it was 2.02, I dont tihnk it does matter that since I get it to 2.31.0

I've had a few corrupt patches, that's why I suggested a redownload.

Also, it may be worth the effort to do a reinstall and just use the cumulative patch from 2.02 to 2.34!

There is also a file on the official servers, called "sacred 2 cleaner utility". It helped me a lot to get the game patched. It cleans everything from the temporary ascaron folder (your save games are not affected, yet I suggest a backup) which is often the cause for the unsuccessful patching.

That can be frustrating AngelShade. So sorry that you're having trouble.

 

Personally, I agree with Timo. My first thought is to download a "fresh" patch. The cumulative patch, Release 2.0.2 → Update 2.34.0, was created to resolve the problem toy are having as well as many others. I would suggest you uninstall Sacred 2 and delete all files leftover and of course reinstall with the new cumulative patch Release 2.0.2 → Update 2.34.0.

 

That's the best I can think of.

Download patch from server 4.

When you install make sure no other program is running the whole time you install. No browsing. Nada. Sacred 2 takes a long time to install which means more chances for something to go wrong if you are running other programs. Make sure that all your protection softwares are off as they may interfere with the installation.

The thing is I want this realy quick to be fixed because I realy want to play with u guys on the internet, but I cant fortunatly I can only download the game untill I get my internet back, I am curently using a wireless internet with 40 kb/s download from internet, that will take me 2 days to download the full patch, untill im going to get back my 10 mb internet I cant play :|.

As @dobri said also you could do:

1)Cleanup with the utility before patching.

2)Execute download by sacred update and not manual

 

I have the same problem with 2.34 as manually update failed.

I cleanup with the utility, but did not try the manual update though again,

but sacred update after cleanup

Thx guys for trying helping me, I just need it the full patch , The utility cleaner, thx to dobri for his help on this, and removing any files that had Ascaron name, and registry removed too.

 

Thx again and now I will see you in the game playing in closed net.
