Main Campaign in Gold

Recommended Posts

We're all in HC, all builds, builds builds... I guess we need some change to enliven things, and it seemed as good a time as any to give the quest a go.

Quest...what's that :)

Me and Schot were doing it last night on a lark. New, some surprises, and a long, long journey. We're only about half way through, and this is going to be the first of "real" questing I've ever done in a Sacred game ^^ Some of the characters we've met along the way have been funny...but there was always something missing...I'm thinking they had so many quests and bosses to "fit" into the story line, that it keeps getting jolted by us having to meet up with so many peeps and "do this" and "do that". The part with the Orcs has been my favorite so far. Detailing in that area is fantastic, lots of colors and imagination, plus...orcs are just cool.

The part where we had to to into Orc region where they are fighting elementals was a great part of the story, and getting to watch the in-game drama was surprising.

Just wish they'd had more cut scenes though. Guild Wars had great cut scenes, and right from the beginning I'd felt like I was important, and being swept along. We've met a horny dude in the seraphim region and are putting parts of a machine together... not sure if this is part of an "epicness" I was looking for...but at least it's something different.

Hoping to finish off the last of the main today, and wanting to know how anyone/ everyone here feels about the story so far in Sacred 2

:)

I just went through the dark campaign with chrona, dima, and prototype a few days ago...and the light campaign with dmolisher and doddsy yesterday... both campaigns are a lot of fun with good stories imo... and they are a LOT more fun than doing them alone in single player. :)

Yeah, it was fun because someone else was there. I do think that cut scenes would really have helped. The time when the orc cuts off the water flow...lol, I was expecting something cool and magical...not a tap turned off

Love the campaign and I actually find replaying it fun. I've played the campaigns several times now and I'm still enjoying it with gogo. Quite a few funny dialogues. Giles FTW! :D Gotta agree with yah on that orc magic cutting of the water flow. That one kinda just fizzled. Meh.

I'm playing the light campaign with my offline seraphim and I think its very boring.

I have a gold level dark HE online and I'm just starting the campaign with her but its very lonely....I can never seem to find anyone else online close to my level with a dark toon. :D

I completed the quest once with my SW and got halfway as part of a party that ended when one of our members died. Seemed like a lot of trouble to go through just to turn off the water. I would like to hit some of the bosses again, though.

Not a big fan of the quest storyline either. Seems disjointed and doesn't flow well. I thought something cool would happen when the orc stops the water but it was less exciting than turning off the tap at my sink. And Giles just gets under my skin. I won't listen to his little tale of innuendos and fetishes. Having done the questline...oh..about 40 times in beta I have no plans on doing it again anytime soon :D

Cut scenes would have made it sooooo much better. Got to remember to suggest that for S3

I am a big fun of main quest, because following it, except for the bosses I will kill,

it involves the main road path where most mobs are.

If doing side quests, I have to walk a lot sometimes in order to kill.

So, I find it to level up quickly by doing main quest.

Also, it is a real - all around - test of your character, that he can kill with ease all kind of enemies.

It will be boring for example to always spawn to swamps where are many enemies and gain XP,

but you know there you are only good for undead and have a good poison defense.

Hm. I seem to recall the shaman did a spell and had some graphic goodness when he, as you say, opened the tap. For me, it wasn't just turning a tap.

He cast a spell of some kind. Perhaps your graphics setting was low? I'm using Nvidia GeForce 8800 GT (GTX?).

As to the storyline: It does feel like you're being pulled from here to there. Do this, do that. But, heck, they decided to make so many different areas to the game. And they had severe pressure from the clients to have DIFFERENT bosses all along the way. I think so many different bosses is the reason that the game took so long to develop.

Cheers

There is a story line? To me, the main story is just there to open new regions to empty of side quests, but then I play single player (what am I doing here:) :) ). Its just not compelling like the Sacred 1 story. I mean, I don't even kill any quest bosses in 1st two regions until I have done 328 odd quests.

Dark campaign is easier than light, less escorts = easier in this game. Plus you only get the wind boss once, that is enough of a bonus.

I like how the lake floods the area under it after you either blow it up yourself (dark) or let the orc do it (Light), as I only discovered that area recently and went in before and after to see if it changed. Some of your actions remain permanent, which is nice. Apart from getting into ghost valley after quest, I cannot think of any big changes you make to landscape.

As for end of campaign, as a dark being, I don't get to enjoy my rewards for long... game ends before I get a chance :D

I don't actually like the main quest. I think it's rather unimaginative. It is full of small funny/interesting things, but... the story as a whole is lacking, so far as my own opinion goes. I do, however, like the SW character quest. I am also very curious about the TG character quest. The way it starts, with "We've forgotten our equipment" or something like that is very funny.

Also, please note that I was referring to the light main campaign, since it's the only one I've finished.

Welcome to the forum Tigrul. Would you mind listing some rpg storylines that you thought were good or better? What did you think about GW's?
