  1. congratz One more year added to your life, many years added to your wisdom
  2. There are tonns and tonns of drum and bass subgenres. Add to that the fact that a lot of D&B records reach out to other, often not even remotely similar, genres, and you get why I love it so much The 'softer' drum and bass, known as liquid is more available to the public at large though. Here are some classic liquids that are enjoyable to people who aren't usually into drum and bass. Look up some more of those artists if you are captured by them Netsky - Mellow. (Happy hardcore = original) Defo one of the big Liquid producers. Other ones I really like are Starlight (big big liquid tune), tomorrow's another day, Secret agent, I refuse, Come back home and tonns more. Mellow captures his style perfectly to me though Chase and status - Streetlife Jenna G ft. Chase and status - In love (Love this tune. Very suited song for chilling out in general) DJ Tapolsky - Bass Rezolution Danny Byrd - Round and round. tonns of liquid producers out there. Too many to know em all. But in these parts, those are defo considered the 'main liquid producers'. specially netsky is focussed allmost solely on producing 'liquid'. PS: Love underwater scene Rusto. Uploaded to Ipod
  3. why Uni 1 though. Why not any of the new uni's? Won't it be a matter of time before this one bleeds out again, like so many old uni's do ?
  4. Was just checking out accounts offered on dutch Ogame. Was gonna start again. Are you guys just in uni 1 Ogame.org? Might make an account then and chip in
  5. nice dubs there rusto. Even though I'm more into oldskool when it comes to drum and bass, it's the other way around for me with dubstep. I think the more recent dubstep plates are just crazy. Ofcourse some oldtimers are just nasty beats too Some of my favourite dub plates: * Running - Chase and status * Sweet Shop - Doctor P *Best set intro to dub I ever heard. This set is from Cookie Monster, set intro is 'Misunderstood' And tonns of other dub plates ofcourse.
  6. Thx Rusto. I don't really like Sounds Of Life - Trust me. It's got a nice bass, but the the lack of melody or buildup kinda makes it a bit monotone. The crane isn't bad, but not the best out there. I do like the drumfunk though . Nice beats in the background and overall nice tune to mix in with some liquid
  7. @ storm: Yeah, Hughes funeral was very intense. The chimera episode was pretty intense too, but I kinda saw it coming, which made is somewhat less shocking. But Hughes funeral is really something that should get to you. Get checked up if it doesn't!
  8. Right now it's dirty beats by roni size. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vXOvMwOJKbA But it's just a playlist of drum and bass. Modified to fit the afternoon. Lotsa sun and beer
  9. Full metal alchemist & Full metal panic Alchemist being my favourite amoungst the two, because this one actually nearly made me cry at some point. apart from when I was a child, I never cried at television, books or other types of media. FMA got me close though ... it was intense
  10. list of anime I currently watch: As in, they are coming out weekly * Bleach * One piece Anime I have watched * Claymore * Full metal series * Death note (Seriously , this is the bomb) * Blood + * Darker then black * GTO (Great Teacher Onizuka) * Kenshin (aka Samurai X) + OMV * Cowboy bebop * Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagan * Devil May cry * Air Gear * Hellsing * Elfen Lied * Code Geass (recommended!) * Hunter x Hunter * Soul eater * Noir anime I started but didn't like for a variety of reasons * Dragonball series (nothing happens. You watch for 5 episodes, 1 thing happens. Too slow imo) * Naruto (don't know why, just didn't like)
  11. Claymore A small series (cant remember exactly, I think 24 episodes). This is definately ranked in my favourites. It's a subgenre if you will, that you either like, or don't like. I've seen hardcore anime fans that don't like this, and people who practially spit on anime watch this like their life depended on it. The visual quality is amazing. The level of detail is extremely high, and troughout the story, a more 'serious' atmosphere is maintained. You won't get characters dropping buckets of water when crying, having their heads grow monsterous when they get mad or any of the likes. This is partly the reason why I love it so much. Even though the story is completely fictional, the laws of the real physics don't apply, and yet a sense of realism is built throughout the story. I absolutely love it. Allso emotions get a highly ranked spot in this series. Sensitive viewers might end up crying. A good friend of mine actually cried. Story: In a medieval-like time period there are monsters called the Yoma. These monsters have different abilities, depending on their 'level of strenght'. All of them have the nasty habbit of feeding on human brains though. Extremely strong and hard to defeat, the normal population relies on 'The organisation' to help ward off these monsters. In the organisation beings known as Claymore battle the Yoma. Claymore are all female, but are part Yoma and part Human. This allows them to abide to the lows of social conduct (read: prevent them from going beserk), but yet they maintain certain powers connected to the Yoma. In this organisation, depending on the level of danger, higher ranked Claymore are sent out. The least powerfull of em all ... Claire. (or so they think). The story revolves around claire and her human travelling companion. The story will take unexpected plot twists, show every emotion from fury and anger to love and despair. You will learn about Claire's history, the history of the organisation, the Yoma, the physical laws of the universe in which the story is set, etc etc... I can't do anything but recommend this to lovers of the fantasy/anime genre. This was one of the first anime I ever watched. Being a fan of fantasy and books, I found the step to 'pokemon-like' appearances in stories very uninteresting. Like I said having heads the size of boats when you are mad, crying rivers of water, geting strange marks on your forehead when you shout, etc... was not appealing to me at first. Claymore was the perfect transition between the fantasy and books setting to the anime setting for me. Seriously people, if you have not watched it, then watch it! if you still don't like it by episode 4-5, you are probably amoung the people who will never like it. If you do like it, you will be hooked by episode 2 ps: I watched it virtually non-stop. Took me 48 hours or so to finish it. One sidenote though: The story has a very (read: very!) open ending. I've been waiting ages for them to bring out a sequel, but the story never really finished. none the less I thought it was amazing. edit: Searched for a video that didn't reveal anything about the story, but yet showed you nicely what I meant. This AMV does that quite nicely. It shows the gore, style of drawing, and general setting of the story, without being a spoiler. places to watch it for free (legally) www.anilinkz.net www.animefreak.tv www.animecrunch.com
  12. it's a social bug, rather then a gaming bug
  13. I agree with this on a very large scale. However I don't see it as radical as he does. But where I live, lotsa companies use that ROWE model. We really dont care when, how, where, with whom, whatever you do it, just get it done, and you get payed. Works really well in most companies.
  14. beer in glass > beer in bottle > beer in plastic cup > beer out of unusual stuff. 'nuff said
  15. dark matters" ...54 translations later we get: "Includes thick." noteworthy, it took over 40 translations to get away from dark matter. We were pretty true to our nature in all languages

  17. don't know which one I watched most, but it's gonna be a close call between these - The shawshank redemption (my favourite movie ever btw) - Scarface (say 'ello to my little friend) - Alien series (exept alien vs predator, I don't like that one) - Trainspotting (good movie, but mainly because I saw it 5x on school-related things). Watched it a few times besides that. and tonns of good movies, but the most watched should be in this list. never counted, so not sure which one. Think Alien series though, because they play em on TV here each year.
  18. don't think my picture is in here yet I'd add a different (read: less chaotic) picture, but I don't have a digital camera, so I have to rely on the pictures ppl upload to my facebook This is me at the day where I gave over the leadership of the fraternity. was somewhat wasted, so cut me some slack ;-)
  19. Allmost forgot this one I have it in my room poster-size Epic-est motivational I've seen. still makes me giggle when I walk in the room
  20. I considered avatar to be a braindead hot chick. Fun to look at, but doesn't have much to offer as far as content goes. I saw it in 3d, so the graphics were obviously amazing. the colourfull world etc really gave me some sensation of fun whilst watching the movie. But in the end, isn't it really just a moderd-day version of pocahontas? Guy goes in to get a tribe to leave their land, falls in love with native, people all die in the end, loved couple lives on ever after. I've even heard people say it was the movie of the century ... I mean, .... Come on ! You don't just put bigger wheels on a car and say it's a monstertruck. It makes the car cooler, no doubt. But best car ever !? Avatar is just a plain old, typical, everything works out in the end and the bad guys loose kinda movie. They just upped the graphics. But to me, that doesn't make up for loss of plot. Best movies ever are still reserved for the ones with a depper plot to me. Don't get me wrong. I enjoyed myself watching the movie, and money was definatly better spent on this movie then another wannabe horror film staring 2 stoners and a gal with a D-cup camping in the woods, but I don't consider it to be all that much of a movie. It entertained me for a good 3 hours. No more, no less content-wise, I disapproved graphics wise, I thought it was amazing.
  21. Guess I can go translate for blind people legally huh
  22. I used to be moderator on a science forum. There was a pretty good general atmosphere there. Mainly because your random internet trolls don't visit those kind of forums. Talks about molecules, matrixes, atoms, vectors, etc etc... just isn't their thing. They can't troll if they don't even understand what it's about other then that, I follow a few forums (or try to). Most of the times is scrolling through pages of rants, to see 1 decent comment. There are some decent forums out there, but they are harder and harder to find.
  23. This one is about as old as the internet, but it still gets me going
