  1. Meh.. Not much point to it.. You seen one white creamy cheese sauce on pasta, you've pretty much seen them all. BUT.. If you must have visuals.. It looks a lot like this: Sounds sort of like the pesto sauce I make.. Basil leaf (fresh), sun dried tomatos, garlic, pine nuts, olive oil and garlic (the regular variety) and parmesan cheese... Blitz in a blender or food processor and serve over hot pasta.. YUM.. Tho, I suppose sheep cheese (Romano) would be a good substitute for the parmesan.
  2. OK. Found something completely different and yet, not off topic.. Here's the JAPANESE version of the opening theme music... Go figure.. LOL
  3. Sometimes, I amaze myself with some of the stuff I come up with in the kitchen. Case in point. The local supermarket had some goat cheese crumbles in the mark down bin. So I got a couple of them. I got to thinking this might make a good sauce for pasta - and it DOES! Here's what goes into it... 1 lb package of fettuccini or linguini (your choice) cooked per directions 4 oz tubs of goat cheese crumbles x3 1 pint Half and Half 6 cloves garlic, crushed 2 jalapeno, seeded, deveined and chopped into small bits 2 Tbs parmesan cheese, grated (optional) 4 oz mushrooms, cleaned and sliced 2 heaping Tbs of sour cream 1 Tbs of Sriracha sauce (optional) salt and pepper to taste. 2 Tbs olive oil Cook the pasta per package directions and set it aside. In a large skillet, put the olive oil in and heat it up. Add in the mushrooms and sauté them a few mins on high heat to get them cooked. Turn the heat off. Add the garlic and stir well. Add in the goat cheese crumbles and the half and half. Stir well. Turn the heat back on - to the lowest possible setting on your stove. Allow the goat cheese to melt into the half and half. Continue to stir as the cheese blends into the sauce. Add the parmesan cheese and sour cream into the sauce and blend with a spoon. Add the Sriracha sauce and stir well. With a spoon, taste the sauce as it is and adjust the seasoning with salt and/or pepper. Once the sauce is ready, drop in the chopped jalapeno bits and stir them in. You want them mostly raw to give you a bit of a crunch... Important note: This sauce gets a bit thick and dry when you mix the pasta in with it and it cools off. It's best to keep them separate until you're ready to eat. The pasta absorbs the moisture from the sauce - which is mostly a good thing. The pasta absorbs the flavor as well. Additions: You can add meat into the dish or serve it on the side. Welcome options include bacon bits. Chop 1/2 pound bacon into small bits, fry until cooked, then remove the bacon bits. Drain excess bacon fat and leave about 2 Tbs on the bottom of the pan to keep things from sticking. Prepare sauce as above, adding the bacon bits back in at the end along with the jalapenos. Meatballs: Either store bought or home made. Prepare them as you like. Chicken: cut chicken breast(s) into bite sized pieces. Remove from heat, prepare the sauce as above, add the chicken in at the end. Do not overcook chicken unless you happen to like rubbery stuff. Cheese and Fish do not normally go well together, so fish and seafood is not recommended.
  4. Ah.. I know why I didn't recognize that.. Was having problems with IE... DOH! And wound up getting distracted toward the end there. Had something come up and I forgot to rewind and watch the relevant parts again. Ah well. My bad for not doing so.
  5. Nice find..! My only issue - some of the comments posted IN the video - like "this will be your grave if you don't buy this on iTunes.." Not very funny, nor much of an incentive to buy the music. Speaking of which... The music tracks are indeed expanded versions of all of the original songs. Interestingly "I Burn" has a 2nd verse and a rather... NSFW rap part omitted (probably for the best since they mention Marvel Comics characters that have NOTHING to do with RWBY)... Hmm Interesting.. There's some GOLD to be mined in those videos as well. In track 8, "I May Fall" there's a part starting about 3:11 into the video that has footage NOT used in Season/Series 1! Shows Blake holding a blade to Torchwick's throat, followed by a battle that has Boop Girl using some rather interesting new moves.. It also seems Jeff Williams is also a fan of DragonBall Z.. In track 10, the "I Burn" remix, there's actually lyrics posted for the 2nd verse - and we find out why it was cut from the series and trailers. There's a line in there about her going Super Saiyan (which actually some reviewers mentioned her doing in the YouTube comments on the original trailer... Yeah, I know.. YouTube comments... Lol). The big surprise is track 12.. Don't recall hearing that anywhere in the series..
  6. Welp... IE 11 is behaving itself today. Not quite sure if it has to do with the patches that came down from Windows Update or if it had to do with rebooting. Flash Player may be partially to blame. The latest update for it has been less than rock solid - especially with IE 11. Seems to be mostly stable for Chrome, but it still blows chunks every now and then - usually at the worst possible times. Of course.
  7. UGH.. IE 11 seems to be having some issues today.. Just had it kill and then refresh this page for the 4th time in as many minutes.. <sigh> Thought they had the bugs ironed out of this damned thing..
  8. bjh is correct to a degree. Having a browser with known vulnerabilities can be bad news. The part where he's a bit off the mark - you have to USE the browser, actually, on the internet in order to get into trouble. If the vulnerabilities aren't active, there's no way for anyone to exploit them. That said, you never know when you may actually have a need for it. Like if Firefox and/or Chrome both decide to pack it in at the same time and you need a browser to download a clean, fresh copy of the latest/greatest version of your favorite alt browser. Or a friend may want to pop over and check their email. Me, I use all 3 of these browsers. They have their specific uses. I actually log in to here and certain other web sites with IE. I use Chrome and FF for other sites that are more graphically demanding... Pages that are heavy on Flash, for instance, are best viewed/played on Chrome. FF is a distant second and IE is an even more distant 3rd in that regards. Also having different browsers is also good for logging into places with different accounts on the same site.. I have 3 Hotmail accounts - and can access all three of them independently by logging into Hotmail.com using different browsers - and I don't have to link the three of them together ever. This is good for keeping your business life separated from everything else.
  9. Oh dear... Good news.. Bad news... Good news: Monty's back at work on RWBY... Bad news: He's turned Jaune into a disco ducky.. And not really a good one at that.. https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=486004488181095
  10. Oh come on.. EVERYBODY loves a good cliffhanger to end the season. This is a well known tool invented waaay back in the 1970's with Dallas - the original version, not the "next generation" version on TNT. Back in the day, Dallas was a sucky nighttime soap opera with lots of people hopping from oil field to oil field (and of course, bed to bed). BUT. I believe for their first season - they had a cliffhanger - WHO SHOT JR? It went from relative obscurity to MUST WATCH TV. Everyone was talking about it. It was like the whole country went nuts with stupid theories as to whodunit. It kinda drove me nuts having to go thru the off season listening to everyone blather on about it. I watched maybe 10 mins of the entire series and thought the whole thing sucked and moved onto something better. My thought on the subject - they were a lousy shot cause they didn't kill him and the stupid show off. The point is - the ratings for the season opener in the following September went thru the roof. Since then many TV shows have done the same sort of thing - ended a season on a cliffhanger - just to guarantee the next season's audience. In truth, Monty seems to be a bit overly fond of this plot device with the way he cuts his episodes into odd lengths. 15 mins, down to 5 mins, up to 7 mins, back down to 4 mins, etc... Each one done in a way to drive us viewers NUTS trying to figure out what's gonna happen next.
  11. Not so sure bout that. 2 weeks ago, they said there wouldn't be one last week - and that the last 3 eps would be rolled into one long one. And I think that is exactly what it was.
  12. Yeah... Kinda had a feeling she wasn't quite the same as everyone else - based on the lyrics of the trailer. Now we know WHAT the differences are. And of course, leave it to Monty to leave the season off with a major cliffhanger.. GRR Ah well. Looking forward to season 2.. whenever that will be.
  13. Well.. If you think Splenda's expensive.. There's another one called Truvia out there and it makes Splenda look cheap. The thing about these things is - these companies know they got a gold mine going with this kinda stuff. They know people are trying to diet and as such, they have the market cornered.
  14. By the Gods! I hope you had the sense to run, run for the hills... Commands..? WTH? This is the sort of thing to expect maybe once you drop to your knee and propose. And a smart woman will do this sort of thing using subtle hints.. But on the 5th date..? Putting the proverbial cart before the horse, if you ask me. Sounds to me like she's clueless and insensitive to people in general. Hopefully one day, she will realize this and learn to compromise or maybe she'll find some guy who is mentally weak and obedient enough to put up with her crap. Gotta wonder what she would do if somehow that job she had lined up for you didn't quite pan out. What if you didn't get it? My dating history... Well.. Let's just say nothing I got comes even within the ballpark. Certainly nothing worth repeating.
  15. About those modifiers.. Don't think it's quite that bad. Just look at the ring as being "versatile". It'll work for both Inquisitors and High Elves.
  16. Very creative.. The Electric Poo... I got a chapter in my book about it's origins.. Seems Kuan had a bad batch of Bengaresh curry and some severe gastrointestinal distress because of it... This is also a nod to the same Llama8 as well. His grave marker in the cemetery west/southwest of Benny's Corn Circles cautions against feeding him curries. Now we know why...
  17. Ack.. Desktop power supplies aren't that expensive.. They're not hard to change out either. Why not take a walk on the wild side and replace it yourself.. That's what I did when mine dropped dead last month.
  18. Well... For what it's worth... I think I would be quite dead if it wasn't for the time I've spent on games and these forums - I would have been bored to death by the crap on TV.
  19. Good news and bad news fans...! The Bad news first. No RWBY this next week. Now the good news... Seems they're rolling up the last 4 episodes of season 1 up into one BIG release the week after. More details can be found here.
  20. Yeah... She's got the mega hots for him... Nice of him to actually have a spine and actually kick some arse - even if it wasn't entirely his doing. LIke how the romance (yes, it's gonna go there one of these years) between the two is starting to get off on the right track. Good episode overall. Oh.. And one more thought... That polarity thing - not thinking it has much to do with magnetism exactly... Thinking it's the soul thing they went thru a few episodes back... Yes.. I'm gonna say it.. Jaune and Pyrrah are SOUL MATES..
  21. Yes fans, it's THURSDAY again.. and that means we're counting down to yet another episode of RWBY..! Only 4 1/2 hours to go until public release!
  22. Hey.. I gave him a bit part in my epic story... And gave him a name. K9-415... Of course, at the time the story takes place, he was in much better shape than he is in the Sacred 2 era...
  23. Survival bonus definitely contributes - but I've found that mobs on Niobium are generally far below level 200. Especially in the lower areas like Artamark near Sloeford...
  24. Eeeww.. That is an ugly thing.. You might try, next time, adding a space in front of or behind the end of the phrase you want to replace. E.g.: "Damage Types:" should read " Damage Types: " or "Damage Types: " Note - there is a space before and/or after the phrase. Why: SQL is a very literal language. Literal to the point of being almost anal retentive. This has it's plusses and minuses. By doing the extra space thing, you're covering both instances where there is a space before the first word and those where there isn't a space in front. This should eliminate the recursive nature of your SQL query that is repeating the fix on already fixed stuff. The only time this may fail is if there isn't a space afterwards. There's one other potential danger here. There's a wiki rule, IIRC that you only need to make the first instance of a linkable word or phrase into a link. By running the query willy nilly, you likely turned EVERY instance of "Damage Types" into a link. So if you have a page that talks extensively about Damage Types, like the Damage Types page, you're likely to have a TON of extra links per page. Thinking this sort of thing might be better done manually.
