  1. Perhaps something to shield someone from those harmful rays . . . how about some lovely toys from China attached to a coat, forming a servicable . . . Lead shield!
  2. And here's a little . . . Virus for your Linux.
  3. This is no less than the third time I have knocked this guy back into (n) in the last few months. It is unbelievable. He hoards a ton-o-res and builds RL until he has a high enough score that he pops out of (n) protection. I notice this, nuke his defenses and steal all of the res. A couple of hours later he is back in (n) again. He was ranked 1087 (9,787 points) prior to the hits. Note his impressive techs . . . 5. Claire, that tree is AWESOME!! And I love the circular stair.
  6. We bought our tree last night and I put on the lights. With luck the decorations will go on tonight and I'll post a pic. RE: Undone - We have an advent calendar (PeA) full of chocolate. Mmmmm.
  7. Sad to say, but Autonow has started to turtle up. No fleet builds, just ABMs for all planets and defenses . . . even on his 3:88 moon. On the plus side, defenses are wasted points that can go away and nuking them may assist Firefly in taking over the #1 slot earlier. Not a bad goal, that.
  8. Well, I thought it would only be right to welcome Autonow to the Uni's biggest Fleet/Account, so the day he took over . . . Defender Antonow (3:253:8) destroyed The attacker has won the battle! 9. Yeah, it is a contination of this thread. The guy pled guilty back in August and just got sentenced this morning. It is certainly a fairly common scheme, this was just a very well organized and lucrative group.
  10. Hmmmm, no idea when (exactly) Autonow turned over his account . . . I just know it was before 16:05 when the last stat update occurred. In a few more hours, Vendetta will disappear . . . with luck for good.
  11. It occurred right about 16:30 server time today. I was checking for activity on Spanky's planets and halfway through noticed that the name had changed from Vendetta (when I started) to Autonow. Yeah, even if I were inclined to play in U36 the timing would be really horrible.
  12. My spamming defendant got sentenced to six years in prison this morning. All e-mail boxes rejoice! Here is the press release.
  13. He posted a goodbye thread on the OoF. He outlines his fleet, mines, and research. Apparently, when you reach 20 MM points, the game gets a bit dull.
  14. At approximately 16:30, Autonow took over the #1 account in Uni 9 (Cabe's, then Sphenodon's). Autonow's account (previously BlueWhaleMoon's and Urkhai's) has been taken over by "Cr4sH aNd BuRn." According to Beowulf, Spanky sent him an IM a few days ago about leaving Uni 9. Blade had a long IM conversation with the Spankster two days ago and Blade says that Sphenon00b will be playing in U36 when it opens (in a couple of days). Apparently, a very large number of Uni9 players will be starting up in U36 if anyone is interested. - Ike
  15. I read about this on the OoF a week or so ago. It seemed really st0000pid. Still does. Sadly, I am about halfway through researching Hyperspace Drive 9, so no expeditions for me for a while. Guess I'll just have to watch everyone else get all of the goodies. Or get attacked by and
  16. As I understand, he was given Werner's account, and he knew he was getting it over the summer. He started posting here beforehand and claims that he sent notes about possibly joining D.a.r.k. to GoGo and others. Not sure where else he was interested in joining. For whatever reason, he didn't apply, and instead joined PAWNZ. I don't know of any conditions on his taking over the account. I told him it would be rather a shame to use that account as a miner, but then, it is Werner's acount, he can do as he pleases.
  17. Yeah, he changed this morning -- specifically between the 00:00 and 08:00 updates. Blade is close with DiO, Hornet, and others in NN. He was never all that close to PAWNZ. In fact, he originally hoped to join D.a.r.k., but for whatever reason did not apply. He and a large number of others are joining U36 (non-PrOgame/ACS I believe) when it opens in a few weeks. When U36 is announced, Blade is giving the account back to Werner, and Werner is going to be a Miner. Apparently Werner is one of those who will also be playing in U36, which is why he will be mining in U9 -- no time to fleet crash. Werner is not a big PAWNZ fan, hence the move to NN.
  18. I always run online. Especially as I can't install programs on my work computer. I prefer to have as little installed locally as possible.
  19. He, he, he. A little background to give people a sense of the Enemy . . . On Thursday night I saw 5 RIPs and a recycler on one of Spanky's moons, all lonely like. I let a few people know and Blade was the only one who could make the attempt. Unfortunately, he had to wait for some ships to return. When they did, he sent attacks against the moon (where there was 57 deuterium and no metal/crystal), and the planet (around 8K deuterium and 200K/80K metal/crystal). I sent 8 attacks as well, and others sent a few. In all, 15 attacks were scheduled to hit within about 30 minutes of each other. Unfortunately, 10-15 minutes before impact, Spanky comes online. A little earlier (30 minutes earlier) than he is normally online. So yesterday morning I see these two RIPs and no deuterium sitting on another moon. I am thinking there is NO WAY that anyone could be st00pid enough to leave two RIPs alone overnight after seeing me spy them, when I was clearly involved in a similar attack two days earlier. But 10-12 hours later, at around 02:00, I check again and they are still there although there is some activity on some of Spanky's planets so I think he may be online. Nonetheless, I notify a few people in the area and Borg starts SIMming. 03:00 comes along, no activity on Spanky's Main, I probe once more. STILL THERE! The rest is, as they say, History. But my low estimation of Spankodon has dropped yet a few more notches . . . although I did not think that possible. So, EXCELLENT hit Borg. Even with a 'sure thing,' it still takes guts to go after the #1 account's RIPs on a gated moon. Congrats on the hit, you are only the second person to hit any of his RIPs.

OK, I saw Beowulf on Thursday night. It is animated, and the main characters are animated using the images of the voice actors. So the main characters look really realistic. The rest of the characters and 'extras' tend to be pretty marginal. In fact, I couldn't help but think of Thief: The Dark Project. A great PC game, but not the best animation ever. In addition, Robin Wright Penn plays the Queen, and they reduced her age for the first portion and she looked really stiff and wooden. After she grew older and was more her own age, she looked much more realistic. As I noted in an earlier post, this was made PG-13 in the US. As a result, there is no real nudity, and that is a bit of an issue. In the beginning, Beowulf lies naked, waiting for his first opponent. They keep having people and objects blocking the view of Beowulf's crotch. It reminded me eerily of Austin Powers . . . which was a joke. This did not appear to be meant to be funny, but it was REALLY distracting because it was so obvious. Of course, for Angelena Jolie's character, they didn't cover her, they just smoothed her out like a Barbie Doll. It was a little odd. The story itself was really good, but the animation really detracted a bit from it, as did the rating.
  21. He'll probably be out of (n) in another 4-6 months. I'll watch to see if he joins an alliance and warn them off. Might need to start a new account so I can hit him as soon as he gets 5K points.
  22. Hey Highlander, great to see you around and better to see that all is well and your career is on track. Excellent to reduce that commute. Got mine down to walking 5-10 minutes and life is about as good as it gets! Happy Thanksgiving to you as well, spending mine on the Outer Banks with family. Then it is back to hunting He Who Must Not Be Named. So there is a life after oGame:)
