  1. Return of the funny messages! This line is empty.
  2. Nah, only 47 are odd, the rest are perfectly normal hehe, sorry, couldn't resist. I made a post about this in the official news area here, just so we all know that it's officially launched now (earlier we had some people reporting problems before the changes were complete, so we asked that they wait until it was officially announced - that would be now ). If you fine staffers here would rather I hadn't posted the dup topic in the news section just let me know and I'll refrain in the future
  3. Ok, I know this is a bit late since word leaked out early, but our spiffy new look is officially online now on the international side too. You can now choose from several different forum skin/style settings, so there should be something for everyone's taste
  4. Dang, I got all excited when I saw the title of this thread - I thought maybe you guys knew something I didn't As Indy clarified above, it's not actually a new Sacred 2 Forum, it's new Sacred 2 visual style options for the existing forum - and yes, we'll be getting it soon too, hopefully tomorrow Added note - there will be some down time while it's implemented, so don't panic if you can't access the forum for a while tomorrow, it'll just mean that things are proceeding.
  5. Not to be argumentative, but I think "Funny messages reloaded!" is a parody of some titles (ex: The Matrix Reloaded, Ratchet and Clank Reloaded) combined with the case of them having been removed at one point in the past because people thought they were making the game crash when they were initially added. Heh, probably a bit long to put in the reference though
  6. "These go to eleven." Spinal Tap "More confusing information." Don't know if this is a reference, or just a silly thought
  7. Your mate has to be walked? What does she do when you haven't spent the night? hehe, sorry, I couldn't resist. I didn't see this yesterday, but have to brag a bit so am posting to the original question today. Yesterday was Mother's Day here, and for the first time ever my darling son cooked me breakfast. Now, I must confess, I was a bit apprehensive because while scrambled eggs is easy conceptually, there's a lot of ways it can go wrong and I knew he hadn't had much practice. They were delicious! So good in fact, that contrary to my usual habit of drowning them in hot sauce, I ate them plain. They were accompanied by some fresh baked biscuits & jelly, and juice ("refills are free Mom"). For the rest of that day, as well as the next few (I always make too much, plus forgot my son would be gone for 3 days this week), I'll be having some yummy chicken salad I made. It's pretty standard chicken salad, except I make the sauce with Miracle Whip (salad dressing as opposed to Mayo), sour cream and a bit of dijon mustard. The extra tasty bit is that in addition to putting lots of lovely crunchy onion & celery pieces in, I add some chopped pecans and chopped dried cherries. It's tasty on everything from a plain old sandwich, to filling a hollowed out tomato or cantaloupe!
  8. I'm going to pop my 2 cents in here, but want to make it very very clear that these are my personal views and not meant to represent Ascaron's views in any way shape or form. And sorry FDMers and DAers if this inadvertantly upsets you - if you think about it, it's actually very flattering Why join either? Both are awesome and their people are even awesomer, and both are known for treating people very courteously whether they're in the clan or not (which is key to them being so awesome IMO). Because of that, even if I was currently in a position to join a clan right now, I wouldn't - it would be like having to choose between 2 of my children (ok, this is a really bad analogy/metaphor <I never could keep those straight>, Outside of the fact that I actually only have 1 child, I don't mean to imply that I'm "mother" to either clan, just that I love them both so much it would be impossible to choose one over the other). Now, to be fair I'll present the flip side - I've never been in either, so I also can't say if membership confers special privileges or anything. But I can say that I've never felt that I was missing anything by not being in one.
  9. I ran across a Sacred 2 Developer Diary on 1up.com - maybe it's just me, but I always find things from a different perspective like this to be very interesting.
  10. From the description of the box it sounds like you do have the Encore version, IIRC the UK version didn't come in a box at all and instead came in a snazzy DVD-style case. I think Encore's was also the only version that made the Diablo comparison. This can easily be checked by seeing if "Encore" is on the disk (on Disk one it'll be on the left hand side by the spindle hole, just under the Ascaron logo and just over the bit T for the ESRB rating).
  11. These go to eleven. (one of my favorite Spinal Tap bits!)
  12. That's right, we're happy to announce that our second official wallpaper is available now on Sacred2.com's wallpaper section! Our newest offering is the official Seraphim wallpaper, offered in several different resolution choices. With this addition, you can now have a piece of Ancaria for your desktop from either the dark or the light path, so which will you choose?
  13. That's right, we're holding the first contest with our spiffy new and improved Underworld ladder this month! The prize is a very snazzy Sacred 2 banner. How snazzy? Let's just say I'm heartbroken that I don't have one and can't win it in this contest You can find more details here, or I'm always around somewhere so if you have questions please do let me know!
  14. Meh, I see I'm going to have to get serious about keeping characters for a change. I was in bronze a bit (lol, my normal home - if I don't kill them I rebuild them) and it was all but deserted - I see now it's because everyone was in silver and gold!
  15. Oh man, sounds like another awesome time I missed Ah well, one of these times I'll be in on it (lol, apparently I picked the wrong time to rebuild my dwarf too erialc - now I have double the catching up to do to run with your daemon!). Nice screenies!
  16. Absolutely! Even though I wasn't on staff during the last great purge (IIRC last spring), I remember how angry people got at the amount of useful compiled information that was removed. My main concern when removing threads (at least in game areas) isn't clearing space, rather it's to get rid of some of the really old outdated things that have changed and might confuse people as well as to make the up-to-date information easier for everyone to find. I think it's especially important at this point in the game's lifecycle, because I continue to be amazed at the number of new people coming into it.
  17. There hasn't been a prune in quite a while gogo - and I've only been pruning the really old stuff since I took the job (generally stuff that predates 1.8 or in many cases 1.7 even). Unless someone's overstepping their bounds (which I seriously doubt), I'm the only one that does the pruning. On the off chance that I did make a mistake (I try very hard to be careful when doing those things, as I do recognize the importance of our accumulated wisdom), have you tried checking the archives? You should be able to look manually, or even do a google advanced search for the domain "http://forum.sacredeng.ascaron-net.com/archive/" I am always happy to do all I can to keep relevant and not outdated (through patches) information around. I'm not sure of a better way to do this than what I've been doing (or I'd have done it the better way of course), but if you have suggestions I'd certainly be willing to hear them.
  18. The community management isn't too shabby either hehe, sorry, couldn't resist But seriously, even though I'm biased, if anyone hasn't tried it you really should check out at least the demo. I played through it countless times countless ways trying to get past that darn guy that came and killed me every time I hit the boundary while I waited for the release - big fun!
  19. I sent you an e-mail and answered this on SIF Llama, but now I'm wondering if I got the basic question right... Are you asking this just to be able to use 2 different accounts, one at a time? (this is the one I answered, and it's a simple matter of just changing settings.cfg files, you don't really need 2 installations) Or are you asking to be able to use 2 accounts at the same time for muling or something?
  20. I think it's a great poll, but haven't replied yet because for me the answer to all the questions is "it depends," and in all cases (I think, I'm a tad tired right now so may not be factoring everything in) it depends on the same set of factors: Where I'm at in my character's development (ex: Early on I do everything except maybe dodge skellies when I'm a bitty baby) What I'm doing at the time (ex: Questing, Questing for Portals, uncovering the map or leveling) Ah, nope - there's one extra criteria I use for the 2nd one - and that's how satisfied I am with my current equipment set. If I'm not satisfied I will take the extra time to open everything in the hopes that the perfect item pops out, regardless of my current session goals.
  21. Sorry for the delay in getting back to this. Other duties and computer failure resulted in me spinning out the tale of my adventure in a very long spammy version of my trip adventure on SIF here. Once it's done I'll edit, de-spam, and condense it. If you don't want to wait feel free to check the link. In the meantime, here's some of the press coverage I found: http://worthplaying.com/article.php?sid=41276 (I got to meet the people behind this site while at GDC - great folks, it was a pleasure meeting and spending some time with them!) http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news...elopment-Teams http://xbox360.ign.com/articles/772/772028p1.html http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2007/03...ds-on-preview/ http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/sa...ml?sid=6167136 http://pc.ign.com/articles/772/772029p1.html http://www.qj.net/GDC-2007-Ascaron-a...g/49/aid/85182 http://adultgamingenthusiasts.com/fo...ead/99815.aspx http://www.msngamenews.com/pages/gam...00&sid=6167136 http://gaygamer.net/2007/03/sacred_2_preview.html#more http://previews.teamxbox.com/xbox-36...llen-Angel/p1/ http://www.clubic.com/actualite-7088...ox-360-pc.html
  22. Fear not gogo, the PC graphics are seriously awesome I've been wracking my brain to try to find words that adequately convey it...
  23. The Game Developers Conference 07 wrapped up yesterday in San Francisco, and Ascaron was there. Stay tuned, I've been flying all night (and boy are my arms tired, yuck yuck yuck!) so am too beat to type more right now, but expect to have tasty information and links for you soon!
