I recommended Combat Discipline because it increases the damage of all your combat arts, even if they're not in a combo. Also, you can put single combat arts into a combo and get reduced regen time. It's a great skill. If you want to use left click melee attacks, that's cool, I'm not discouraging that, but take Tactic Lore if you are going to do that. Big increase in damage and critical hits, this is not to be overlooked!

I would make the final skill Combat Discipline. I also think that considering that 1)Magic Coup uses casting speed and 2)regen per hit can get Magic Coup instantly regenerated, you would probably find yourself just laying on the right mouse button slaying enemies that way rather than using regular left click attacks. Since you wouldn't be using left click attacks, I would drop Sword Lore. The only benefit to your Magic Coup is a small amount of attack rating that you can easily make up. In its place I would take Spell Resistance. If you decide to try to use your left click melee attacks, then take Tactics Lore instead of Combat Discipline.
  3. Well, this is my avatar year-round, actually. I guess one day a year it's actually appropriate.
  4. It's listed under Chain Quests, it's just an empty placeholder page right now though. There's one last brother with his own list of monsters for you to kill. He is west of the Dyr-Lain portal.
  5. I've had a similar problem where the game randomly crashed immediately after collecting Boneslicer. The auto-save meant the quest was complete but I had no reward. So, I feel your pain.
  6. D3 and DS3 weren't worthy of their predecessors and should have been separate games. Both games were made by outsiders to the original series, and the games kept the franchise name for the sake of publicity, which is the same as what's happening here. Ascaron is gone, what could any of us reasonably expect? At best, a decent game that happens to wearing the costume of a series with goodwill.
  7. Seraphim were mentioned in the press release: They say that whoever possesses the Heart of Ancaria will decide the fate of the world. Zane Ashen, ruler of the corrupt Ashen Empire, will do everything in his power to obtain the Heart; however, the Seraphim have hidden it away in a secure and secret place. Whether or not they're playable remains to be seen... Press Release
  8. They hurt but they're not deadly, in Platinum. I haven't been to the Cursed Forest yet in Niobium.
  9. Well look at it this way, if you're going to use your staff, you may as well maximize what you can get out of the staff. That's why I was ready to get you to take Tactics Lore after reading half this thread before I saw you change your skill lineup to add it. The intelligence bonus from the Familiar is good but not enough without Tactics Lore, as I'm sure you've realized. I still think you should use a shield and take shield lore so you can use higher level shields without taking a big attack speed penalty. I have a Dragon Mage in Niobium, and without Spell Resistance (skill) he still weathers spells just fine. Not just because of the Familiar, but also because of the aforementioned Runes of Protection (and also Combat Trance). These two skills add a big chance to block spells and to resist secondary effects, respectively, and they are why I would push you to use Mentalism Focus, so that you can eat many runes in these arts and keep your regen low.
  10. I would not drop Shield Lore. You will not be able to use higher level shields without taking a big attack speed penalty. The extra defense is also worthwhile. No one has convinced me that Spell Resistance (the skill) even works, except for the mastery. [it works.] DM with a Familiar already has monumental spell resistance from Willpower. Likewise, Runes of Protection can grant a big chance to block spells. Also, Mentalism Focus would take precedent over Mentalism Lore. Regardless of how well you put this together, I think no staff-using DM will compare to one using combat arts. I made a Dragon Mage with the intent of using a magic staff, but the damage and speed of Mind Strike eclipsed even the most powerful of staves. And that's just one spell. When you combine it with the others in his arsenal, using a staff is a long, hard way to get mobs killed.
  11. I had a question about the Doppelganger as well: if you die and the Doppelganger becomes the new Inquisitor, does it count as a death and do you lose your survival bonus?
  12. Well, anyone who played the light path knows who Blackhammer is because he's part of the main campaign. He's also part of the Dragon Cult quest, which is on the wiki (but only the light version) and you don't fight him in the light version. The shadow version of the quest is missing from the Wiki, so I guess Blood Hunter is technically right, he's found a quest and a boss that aren't on the wiki. Still. Disappointing, since I'm sure most of us have already fought him at some point.
  13. Would never think of playing the game without it. It's not just a bunch of tweaks and extra stuff, the primary focus of the CM Patch is quest fixes and restoring game content. And for what it's worth, the Blind Guardian concert was highly publicized since before the game's release, it's more surprising that you hadn't heard about it.
  14. Yeah. Reading the Wiki entries for these quests are hilarious, because whoever wrote them was clearly grossed out beyond belief. It's full of so many warnings and sober "you may never eat again" moments.
  15. So you're saying there's both a chain-quest and a boss that no one noticed before?
  16. Oh yeah. It's my go-to game (along with Titan Quest) when I'm not actively playing/learning a new game. The reason being that I know the ins and outs of the game and the characters like the back of my hand, and I can pretty much count on fully leveling up 9+ characters taking the rest of my life. In other words, it's a mindlessly fun game that I'll never actually "finish."
  17. Would Darkmatters host the Sacred 2 save editor if I submitted it to the Downloads section? I found a good editor that works with Ice and Blood (In post 2 of this thread).
  18. @Letmibi: I believe that spell resistance works (as a stat), and I can see that the number increases from items. But the skill Spell Resistance doesn't seem to increase the stat, so I don't have much faith that the skill actually does anything. The best skills to take instead (if they are available) are Armor Lore and Toughness. Toughness will especially help when mastered. And yeah, fen fires and weaving spiders are the worst. I come much closer to death from them than any boss in the game. Look for Damage Over Time reductions on equipment - this is a very important modifier.
  19. Yeah, that's how it works. I walked in and out of the same dungeon just north of Thylysium 100 times to get the acheivement. Didn't take as long you might think. Technically, I had "earned" it much sooner since it's not that hard to enter 100 dungeons total. But in the same gaming session is very unlikely.
  20. DaveO, are you sure that's not just your chance to evade from Armatin's Boots? The way to check if Combat Reflexes is showing up is to take off all equipment.
  21. DaveO you really get Combat Reflexes shown in your bonus list? Can you post a screenshot if it's not too much trouble? Does Spell Resistance (skill bonus) show up on your list too? I use Ice and Blood Community Patch btw.
  22. It's not. It's completely absent from the bonus list. The only way you know it's working is that in the recent opponents window the enemy's chance to hit you decreases as you increase combat reflexes. Spell Resistance (skill) is even worse though. There is NO in-game text confirmation that this skill does anything. Doesn't show up in the bonus list, and the spell resistance stat (by hovering over Willpower) remains unchanged no matter how much you increase the skill.
  23. It's still weird that the combat reflexes evasion bonus doesn't show up in the bonus list.
  24. You want them to die, but if they die too fast, there won't be enough alive to keep Viperish Disease constantly spreading to other enemies. I guess that's the idea. Dryad's spell powers are reduced on the PC so I can't get it to work at all.
  25. I do every quest in silver, rush through only the main quest in gold, then every quest in Platinum and Niobium. It's a good way to level up while still feel like you're accomplishing something - not just grinding. I also haven't gotten a character to Niobium yet, after playing almost a year. It takes a long time, but I'm in no rush - I love the journey, not the destination.
