  1. The NPC's have a tendency to wander around. If he disappears, he won't be too far away, though. Minimap should point the way.
  2. From the first pic, you do not have concentration. That is why you can't add a second buff. The second pic shows what it would be if you pick it. I know, it's really confusing. Most screens show what you have, but the new skills highlight shows what each skill will do when you choose it.
  3. No, you don't need a special skill and you don't need your special mount to get a horse. In fact, on the wiki it says having a horse helps in getting your special mount (move faster, more hp, etc.) There are many horse traders throughout Ancaria Look for that horseshoe. The mini map in the upper right corner shows when you are ner merchants, smiths and horse dealers with little icons around the circle showing their approximate direction. Welcome to the forum, Horus. And remember -- everyone was a noob once. In my case, probably several times. lol
  4. There's a map on the sacred wiki. But there is a lone portal between the smith and the merchant that takes you to sloeford as well. There is also a mini portal by the water that takes you into the center of the sloeford town square. These last two are pretty safe.
  5. I'm seeing the Xmas skin here today. Making me glad the snow is gone from Minnesota, haha. woot! Maybe it is. I can finally create characters again, so I can play online. My last living toon died Saturday night and I've been without HC ever since.
  6. Simple answer for me. I almost always play silver. I start there -- skipping bronze -- and die before I qualify for gold. Always play hardcore, so, that's it. Not really what you are looking for, though -- hehe. If I survive, I move up as soon as I can. Most players usually do so in HC for the drops. When doing an xp run, however, you need to balance the speed of kill with the xp per kill to optimize, so it may make sense to drop back down against different foes.
  7. High armor, 3 gold slots -- looks pretty darn good to me. I don't play a SW (yet) so I can't be counted an expert, though. And you won't get flamed here at darkmatters for asking questions. We all needed to learn at one time or another -- in fact we're all still learning. Welcome to the site. Check out the sacredwiki, too. It'll answer a lot of your questions. It is quite a comprehensive collection of information on Sacred 2, and Sacred/Underworld as well.
  8. Why get an nVidia SLI capable motherboard if you are going to use Radeon graphics? Otherwise it looks very nice. Also I might go for the Game X Stream 750 PSU for a little headroom should you plan for dual graphics at any time.
  9. He heals fast. I had problems at first as well. You need to hit him hard with Combat Arts and avoid getting hit yourself (actually, that works wonders everywhere - hehe). Ues an elemental damage - ice or poison are good against him. Get your to hit up as high as you can, and get good armor to avoid being stunned in return.
  10. I play closed HC almost every night on US servers. They're always there. Can't speak for SC though. . .
  11. Feed the bear is a different quest. Don't go back to the little girl until you've been to dragonmaw pass. There, he grows and starts to fight. If you go to her first, she will take the "cute" cub. Just be aware, you get zero xp for his kills.
  12. At level 1 they cost about 1k. The price goes up as the level goes up. I've managed to squeeze up there at level 8 to get one by moving straight all the time and knowing the exact path. I was level 9 by the time I finished the quest, though. Without help, its really hard to get there any lower, and the last batch of enemies can be pretty hairy too. At that level, they'll cost around 50k, but they vary a lot depending upon which focus you choose.
  13. I'm like knuckles -- always have runes to spare and trade 4 for 1 or sell them, or give away. Ranged dryad: read 1 sinister predator, 1 ravaged impact, all the goldenglade I find (made a few of these too) and a few ancient bark. All else is chaff - I've traded maybe 60, given away equally many and still hold well over 100. And I'm barely level 30 in silver still. They just keep dropping. If I were on eu, I'd pass them along gogo. Runes have never been a problem
  14. Yeah, I find it pretty stable once in game. About one in three times I connect to the lobby and try to join a game I end up at the desktop. Lately, maybe one in five when I get to the game I am rooted in place and can't move. Both just require a restart and I'm fine. As Claudius indicates, I do see lmb failing regularly, but at least not consecutively Sometimes combos don't run. And for some unknown reason, my characters keep getting killed. I've racked up quite a graveyard -- at least they're not lonely.
  15. I often see the boars going a** over teakettle from my bow attacks as well. With a big squeal as well.
  16. The brand new Phenom II 955 is now 3.2 GHz and socket AM3 - no longer AM2+. Supports DDR3 now, too (if that isn't redundant). If you have the $$, the i7 is a faster processor than the Phenom II, but for the price, I took the Phenom II 940 Black Edition. "Black edition" merely means is the cpu multiplier is unlocked, so easy overclocking to be had -- should I ever be inclined to do so. And I went AMD "just because", too. I developed an anti-Intel mindset back in the early 486 processor wars. Their attempts to squash AMD just did not sit well with me.
  17. Some really solid choices. I bought the NZXT Tempest for my new system and am really happy with it. Lots of room and lots of cooling. I went AMD on the processor, so no help there. I have a CyberPower 1350AVR UPS and a PCPower &Cooling Silencer 750 PS (a subsidiary of OCZ) and ocz DDR2 1066 ram. Samsung Syncmaster 214T. Best monitor I've ever had. Not widescreen though -- 1600 x 1200. You also need to have an OS license for each virtual machine, in case you didn't know. You might look at newegg.ca -- I bought mine from newegg.com here in the US.
  18. Or maybe levels. 100% is the total surface area, plus all the under/above ground areas adds up to more.
  19. They worked on Sacred 2 for 5 years. Unless 2 of those were really working on S3, there's no way it could be close to ready. I doubt you'll see the expansion until 2010.

Vista 64 Ultimate - still the oxymoron name. 8 Gb ram, everything is wonderful. My only problem -- my work does not use nor support Vista, so even though there is a client available for our VPN tunnel, and even though it works, the security patch checking doesn't and I can't do "work" with it. I have to boot my old Athlon XP1500 in Win2k. What a joke.
  21. If Sacred 2 online were not available, I would be in a real bind. I guess I'd play Sacred 2 SP or Underworld SP since the closed servers there are now gone as well. Or else Railroad Tycoon II SP -- I really loved that game. God forbid, Freecell . . . Clearly, I'm not really a gamer. Just a "Sacred'er". I see FDM is trying to drum up some Vendetta players - I might look at that, too.
  22. My poor halcyon view of things. I have no clue about SecurRom - how it works (or doesn't?) or its associated issues. All I know is I have not had any problems . . . yet
  23. It all sounds like rhetoric to me. Nothing concrete -- of course they could hardly divulge anything like that in this sensitive a situation unless it was rock solid. But what I read presents no alternate reassurance to me either. No mention of expected sales of PS3 and XBox versions. That is where I see an infusion of cash coming from. If there were good numbers there, I would have expected a mention of sales of the console version.
