Aditional PCs sharing the same connection wont have an effect on speed as long as they are idle on the internet. Basically the maximum speed is divided between computers currently using the band, so if only one of them is using the internet then that one gets the full band. If another starts using it as well then the two pcs will have to share the band. And yeah, most internet speed boosters are full of spyware or just don't provide a significant boost at all. One tool that always works to at least some extent would be a small program called TCP Optimizer. Just get it from here.

Well, even though in order to not get too attached to my current realm I'm only playing the game a little every day, I can't stop playing it. So here's my progress after one week. Questions about factual knowledge and visual memory have nothing to do with IQ tests. Analogies and math questions used in this particular test require the person taking the test to have completed a certain level in education. On the other hand visual sequences and spatial interpretation follow the rules of IQ tests correctly. But overal this isn't an IQ test, more like an education level test. Btw, I scored 139 on their "most difficult IQ test", yet still find it flawed.

*Continued from this discussion* Well, after even more research turned out there was just one small error in my calculations. The game manual states that military units are worth 3 times more in points (true) and that if lost in battle or through colonization those points will be lost. However it seems that the loss of points when colonizating isn't true. But even so by the time you build the second colony you should still be under 125 points I guess. Well sure this strategy might work better for economic players but its advantages are clear. Bellow you have a chart showing hourly production in gold (all citizens unassigned) over a 5 day period for two empires starting at the exact same time. One using my strategy and one not using it. At the start there isn't any difference between the two, but after three days the difference will appear and increase drastically. After one more day (total of 4) production would be 20% higher in the strategy using empire and after the entire 5 day period production would be 35-40% higher. After that providing a fairly accurate statistical prediction become almost impossible, though I assume that after 6 days of gameplay the difference would be of about 50% (with the second player already building colonies as well). Also the difference in production will remain and continue to rise (though at an increasingly slower rate) for as long as the strategy using player has at least the same number of regions as the other player.

What can I say, you did a great job with those rules. They're not very long and they focus exactly on the things that matter the most in keeping a community friendly and united. Also the somewhat lighter tone at some points removes the boring appeal generally asociated with reading rules but it's limited enough not to distract the reader from the subject. Other than that I never followed any rules when posting just used common sense as well as adjusted my style depending on the reaction of people and I'll pretty much continue to do so. @ Gogo Also, The Speaking of That of Which We Do Not Speak Of. <--- Pure gold ^_^

Damn that's one big hit. Too bad they refused to give it top 10 status. They added a rule so that hits on which both players agreed don't count as hofs. That's so lame. This kind of hit would have deserved to remain in top 10 for future people to see it. (provided there's a future to ogame)
