  1. Yet another secret of Sacred 2 revealed! The secret gogo-supercharger! Now I know where my High Elf is going when she hits level 10.
  2. I've never rushed a game in my life. I like to explore every nook and cranny. In S1 I was in Plat SP before I decided to try online. And then, in a server with 8 other people I quickly found that the game was deadly (monsters tougher, starting quests completed... which was very very tough on a BM!) So. I'm a slow leveler.
  3. Unfortunately I can't test this...but I don't want to forget it either: Concentration in S1 only affected melee (and ranged) combat arts. It was an RSM booster back then. Now, I'm thinking Concentration also affects the regen of spells. So, do you keep Concentration at your character level? To both guide builders: In the old guides they suggested things like Skill x, keep at your level, Skill y, keep at 1/3 level, Skill z: take to 10 only. Do you have suggestions along those lines. Further, could you include a link to the ladder representation of your character that uses this build? It would be a really sweet link so we could look at your current stats/skills/etc . The new ladder is SWEET sweet Sweet! And: Thanks to both of you for taking the time and effort to help us others players out!
  4. I had to laugh when I read your post about S1 being easy... given the rules you had! Khorad level 18 was a must for me (I was mostly playing BMs, so very fragile). Given my playing style was to read minimum runes, Sakarra runs at level 40 would be suicide! I only entered the Sakkara nest when I was level 50, levels 55 to 60 flew by there! Sacred 2's monsters were created with the expectation that players would know the S1 world. They'd know about keeping armour up to date. Know to run from some fights (like I ran from the Kobold Chieftain when my level 4 High Elf (using Fireball only) wasn't able to hurt him (he'd heal the paltry damage she dealt before she could recast)). Sacred 2 is a more complicated game than S1. More to learn. More to know. It kinda looks like your life is full of school, work, gf, friends... sounds like a pretty full life already! Adding in a very deep&wide gaming world sounds like too much. I'm finding I'm daunted with how much there is to see/do in Sacred 2. But, hey! I found that in S1 as well! I'll just slowly gnaw on the game--just like I did in S1! Maybe this time I'll be able to author some guides--though I'm having the same problem as S1. I want to play all the classes!! Enjoy life Timo in your own fashion. It goes without saying, but I'll say it anyway. You'll always be welcome in any server/game that the SIF/DM/DA gamers are gaming in.
  5. I'm brainstorming here (so please forgive if the ideas are just off the wall!) Advance_mean_value:) Does this mean that once you hit 450 Bargaining you've hit a ceiling? That at that point you can no longer validly push the Bargaining level up... and thus the ratio from Bargaing level to character level will steadily decline? Which then makes Bargaining less important in the "end game" (levels > 100)? Also: I seem to recall people posting about hard and soft skills. Hard skills are points taken as the character levels. Soft skills are points generated from items. Are all the characters posting here who are at least level 75 having at least 75 hard points in Trade (where they unlock the master trader skill?))
  6. Interesting. I'd imagined that chance to evade would only start to matter in Gold and beyond. Guess it still works in bronze.
  7. I haven't got that deep into the game, so have never fought the Ocotagolamus. But.... I'm confused! I looked at the wiki page and noted that the dead Octagolamus dealt physical damage only, but the one in the picture looks like it deals an equal mix of physical, magic (or was that ice) and poison damage. I say this because there are two colour bars around the red name of the monster. I assume (and you know what they say about when you ass u me!!) that the top bar is the monster's attack, and the bottom bar is the monster's armour/resistance. Am I going crazy?
  8. k. The real danger here is fraud, commonly called identity theft. 1) Credit cards in US and Canada have a 50$ limit for the consumer for purchases made when the card information is stolen. 2) The credit card companies will phone you and try to get you buy insurance to cover the interest payments...but it is silly to get such insurance... Because what you're doing there is guarenteeing that they will be paid their interest (not your principal) if you cannot make your monthly payment. 3) In Canada (at least) credit card companies are also offering you a monthly service where they report to you if new credit cards are opened in your name... or anything else fishy is happening with your account. You can get one free credit report (like what they'll do monthly for you) from each credit reporting company (at least in Canada and the US---Canada has 2, US has 3 different companies). So, you can do this yourself. 4) As has been said before: anytime you hand over your card, someone can clone it. They do this by swipeing it an extra time on a seperate device. Even using the card normally at a grocery store can be a bad thing: internet traffic was sniffed (copied) in North Eastern US at a grocery store. Because the sniffing happened outside the store, the store was not responsible. 5) Thieves like big payoff targets (like the grocery store)--so what they want is databases of credit card numbers and the security code from the reverse side of the card... and any information that is used to identify the person. I was issued a new credit card from my bank because there was a brief of information somewhere (I suspect inside the bank) and their entire database was stolen. That means, I now have to watch over my shoulder in case someone opens new accounts in my name. 6) Dealing with amazon.com, amazon.co.uk, amazon.ca, abebooks.com, and some gaming websites all have been safe for me. I tried to buy a French copy of Sacred1 and that didn't work. I got charged and never got the merchandise and never properly followed up. The package was sent, but described as a book rather than a computer game and it never made it out of either French or Canadian customs. So, yes, there is some risk to using the card online. Risk is everywhere. You can't even be safe at home due to the miniscule possibility of home invasion. Step outside, and your biggest risk is an automobile. You have to take risks to have a life, but some risks just aren't worth it. To me: I monitor my credit. I use my card online... because the cat really is already out of the bag. Too many databases, too many places.
  9. Hmm. Sorry to hear that they cannot restore your account. I'm not party to the "why". I just can guess that they are devoting their resources to game balance/bug patch. That way they will have a better product in the end for all users, including those harmed along the way... *Sigh* Maybe we should be playing SC until the major bugs/triggers are identified? That way we can avoid the situations with our HC characters?
  10. My heart goes out to all those affected by the megafires. Here is a link to NASA site where they show the difference from average tempartures for Australia. The north is in blue (due to being waaaay colder than average) and the south is red hot (from being much much warmer than average). http://earthobservatory.nasa.gov/IOTD/archive.php?cat_id=2
  11. Knuckles, you know you have the option of an account restore (probably)? If you ask Ascaron, they might roll back your account to the previous backup.
  12. Probably a direct result from the pole they took at the SIF a long time ago. They asked their target market what it wanted, and then provided it.
  13. I'm not at my game pc right now...but... In S1 the sell button is available only at the horse trader's window (same window as heal). My guess is: That's where it would be in Sacred 2. Click on the trader, look for any strange buttons...hover your mouse. A tool tip should pop-up to say what each item is for.
  14. Janada. (Chinese for Canada. They ship for no extra cost to Aus, USA, Canada.) I got my first one from them in November (when I couldn't play it---no free time!! waaaah! Still little free time...but CE will only be available so long...)
  15. Well. The world science fiction convention is coming to Canada once more (a rare event). This time it will be in August in Montreal! (6th through 10th) This is the gathering place for authors and editors, fans, artists, gamers, collectors, and all round fun people! This 5 day long event is filled with panels on all kinds of sci/fi | fantasy topics... that include tons on various worlds, how to write, how to publish, how to compose art... with 5 or 7 things going on at once it is often hard to pick just one thing to attend at a time! Most often this event is held in the continental United States, but this year, it's coming to Canada. I'll be there. Hope you will be too! Check out the official webpage here.
  16. Arctic weather front just broke here. For the next while we are supposed to have above average temps. We might even have daily highs above freezing!
  17. Re: Firstoff: sorry to hear about your char loss. Like llama says, you can get a rollback... but it rolls your ENTIRE account back. So, don't expect any changes since the last back up to still exist after the account is restored. That is, all your characters and shared storage will be affected. Open Serious Wounds: Could the monsters have done a reflection on you? Using whatever CAs/bonues back at you? I ask this because in S1 there were cases where Cerebropods were casting Fadmalar's fireballs (which will quickly kill a character) in Niobium. I've also had Cereborpods who disarmed my characters (disarm in S1 worked versus Weapon Lore, which my magic-based characters never took)) --so I would often (at higher char levels) lose my weapons due to monsters with disarm skill.
  18. So. Um. I guess they are duplicating A & W's "Uncle Burger". the UB is thick and drier than their normal hamburger. Nothing tastes like a great Mozza Burger from A&W. I suspect the secret is the fat they use to soak their burgers. Ummm. "In n Out" is U.S. only chain as far as I know (they have them in L.A., haven't been there...but Joe Scalzi swears by them.) Expensive "hamburgers": avoid avoid avoid!
  19. Thanks for the report Knuckles! Hmm. Sounds like you can only use NA in SP. Simulating your own online party. If the skellies are idle too long... that sounds like something to report to Ascaron for patching!
  20. I'm going to bet that missing mini bosses mean that quest triggers have not been tripped. If you do the main quest, it might trigger spawning of the mini-bosses. Just a guess here, but hey, have you done the main quest line up to the point where the bosses appear?
  21. If the Nether Allegiance skellies are anything like the Vampiress's Animate Dead from Sacred1, they will only attack as support for targets that the SW attacks first. This gets away from a player (or a bot) just sitting there while the game does all the targeting and attacking decisions. However, I found with the Vampiress in S1, if you click to attack, then click somewhere else (for movement to a spot near where your character is standing), the associated undead creatures still attack the last target. So, there is some work to do, but not as much as a melee character would have. Try it! ...and... Please report back.
  22. Aren't the Garema just using something like the SW's invisibility combat art? These little things remind me of Nuk-nuk chieftains...
  23. What I see are a lot of people who want instant fixes for intermittent problems... I think most time is spent playing the game... and learning the game... and it is a lot bigger than Sacred 1, a lot more complicated... so, right now, the game and the forum are going through growing pains.
  24. k. To live your dream you have to shape your life in the manner you need. You've got the right idea about being available for auditions... so stick with the restaurant gig. You seriously need to get away from that workplace. You need to find another restaurant that actually needs staff. One of our draftsman here was a bartender in a series of restaurants... when a bar/restaurant is empty too much, eventually it will go under. I've watched the ebb and flow of bars in my town... the crowd goes to new places and stays there for a while... until they find the next new great place. (what they don't realize is that what makes a bar great is they themselves). You need to flow away from restaurants that are empty towards ones that are full. Further about the draftsman's experience: he'd go to work sometimes and find the restaurant doors chained up. He'd be out of work, no pay cheque for the last 2 weeks, and have to hit the pavement looking for work right away. Kinda sounds like where this restaurant is going. So, scout out places, find the busy ones... makes a list. Go back when it's not busy and apply there. Use your great smile, make some jokes, be relaxed ---show off your great personality to the places that are busy. Don't give up on your dream... and you could try what others have: making something like "Star Trek: The Hidden Frontier" (or whatever it is called, a Star Trek show only on the internet. Keep busy, and keep trying.
