  1. MF-trophy is named Kleeblatt in my version= leaf of a clover, proably a four-leaved.
  2. Biggest pike ever in the world was in germany, but only around 50 german pounds. Pikes just bite everything that is sparkling: silver painted finger or toe-nails, piercings,... Good to know when fishing with a rod, just put a girl on the hook At least I don't feel afraid about the pikes which are in the small lakes which store the water in case of the farm or forest burning. Biggest had only 9 pounds the last time I caught it and pu it back in.
  3. Our second currently plays an Inquisitor in the youth club. even it is level 75 the last 2 skills are still open: armour lore combat discipline - mastered netherworld focus might focus - mastered ancient magic - mastered dual wield toughness netherworld lore ? ? The masteries may look strange, but ancient magic and combat displine support both trees. It works nice in teamplay. In solo play the tactic at bosses is to wield two kaldurs with life leech, cast the doubleganger (who will do life leech attacks now) and then spam stat reducing attacks, so the boss does less damage, is better to be hit, has less hit points, .... At multiple enemies: 2 nlovae staves and the sigil set, so range of the clustering is now multiplied by 1.3. More radius = more enemies clustered = higher damage. The plan is to go the magic find route. But without enhanced perception there are only 2 other ways: 1. socket as many MF as possible, but without the skill there are less of these items 2. take alchemy, which needs two skills, but you have to get the needed MF-trophies from friends since they are really rare, but powerful considering that an Inquisitor can get double drops from Bosses. So anyone knowing what is the best place to collect these nice MF-trophies or has a better idea?
  4. Meals on wheels started in UK in worldwar 2. Essen auf Raedern in germany 1961,... Food banks: Germany Here it is mainly callled Tafel. Tafel stands for the dinning table used in midage by nobles: long table with all sort of meals on. Switzerland They call it: 'Tischlein deck dich' after the fairytale from the Brother Grimm. English name for the fairytale is wishing table? The T in Tischlein is formed like a table: Austria has same name a swiss: I like Tischlein deck dich more than our Tafel. Especially if considering meals for kids at school. I don't know how well known the fairytale is outside german speaking countries, but perhaps there is an equivalent? Tischlein deck dich are the magic words you have to speak in the fairytale: little Table cover yourself ? There is a constant discussion if foodbanks target the right people. Several old women on countryside feel to ashamed to ask for help or are not able to drive to town where the Tafel is. Emigrants use the Tafel alot even they are normaly got more money from social networks than these old ladies from retirement payment. My wife (a doc) says that Meals on Wheels (a non free organization) is often more accepted by them and does the paperwork for the health insurance for them, so they won't have to pay the full price.
  5. Sharks, bah. We got a way bigger danger in germany. The headline of a newspaper today would translate as: Woman bite by a pike while bathing at a undressed beach http://bilder.bild.de/fotos/aaa-hecht-fkk-biss_33065438-1371551264-1-30887812/Bild/3.bild.jpeg
  6. Too much olive oil is as unhealthy as too much cholesterol. Just a bit of everything is what we do. Lard together with onions, so it is neutralized a bit by the onion aetheric oils, bear garlic, ...
  7. I really lack the correct translation, if there is any: I learned from my grandparents at their home butchering to cut the fatback of a pig into around 1inch cubes. 4 pounds put in a pot and heated. The liquid fat is filtered away (Schmalz = white lard). Now two possibilities: The remains were put in linnen and pressed out carefully for the rest lard. The brown crunchy remains can be put in salt and eaten like chips or used as a crunchy addon in salades. We call them (Speck)grieben = pork crackling or bacon craclings. or The remains are pressed together with more force so the crackling split into smaller pieces and remain in the lard. It is smeared on farmer's breads at parties and called Griebenschmalz (crackling pork lard:)). Sometimes roasted apples and onions are mixed into the Griebenschmalz for parties, mainly in summer. The released lard was used for frying something close to donuts, just without the hole. In old times our area lacked of oily plants, so beech oil, butter or lard were used in recipes. http://germanfood.about.com/od/resources/r/schmalz.htm For the ones thinking our german Schmalz/lard is unhealthy: in difference to bacon it adds no extra salt, if not eaten as salted chips.
  8. Yes, vanishes nearly complete. Sometime some remains tasting like bacon-cracklings stay. There are several mid europe recipes which use fatnets.
  9. The problem are politics and a one in a thousand years scenario: Everyone upriver is trying to get rid of the water as quick as possible. And so it affects 4 countries and not just germany. And the decisions have to be multinational. 12 years ago I was in a demolition team to destroy damms after the flood peak was over. So the water could flow away quicker. Was a lot of maths to prevent a summing up of waves of different small rivers in the big river. This picture shows from which areas the big rivers get the water: The Elbe has a big area and is not just germany. My grandgrandpa was wise enough to build uphill at a Wasserscheide (river drainage divide), so our local area has 3 possibilities to get the water away.
  10. German names in recipes: im Speckmantel: wrapping bacon arount the burger gespickt: pierce holes into the burger and fill with sticks of bacon/lard, so at each opening the bacon is half a centimetre out, mainly on fish with a dry meat like a pike im Schweinenetz: wrap the fat layer which is around a pigs stomach around the burger
  11. At our place: Cows are back downhill, Friday was bloodspending with everyone in the family old enough to do at our firefighters building. At east germany an attempt to close a broken damm by sinking ships at the place seemed to work.
  12. Glad it turned out good. Last summer I had to do a decision if my father should be put permanently on a breathing machine, which I thought he didn't want . Hard decision. Father's day: seems germany is the only country which does it on ascension day (thursday 40 days after easter) out of century old traditions. So I was a bit of confused. Ascension day is a workfree thursday here, so when choosing to add one day free of work from the 4 weeks you have in a year you can do a nice long weekend. This year was firefighter readiness for me and hospital readiness for my wife. Next year hopefully we both are free of readiness.
  13. Soy is not a part of a traditional german veggieburger. We call them Bratlinge. Actually we call every Frikadelle without meat a Bratling: Lentils, millets, rice, buckwheat, Grünkern, Dinkel, ... lot of things to replace the meat. Normally all leftovers are used in a crative way. My favourite is Grünkern mixed with millet and bear garlic. http://www.thegraciouspantry.com/clean-eating-german-bratlinge-with-guacamole/
  14. Caffeine gives you a kick. Too bad that your bladder and digesting system often gets a kick too, they work faster. No risc of dehydrating, if not in a desert, just working quicker. Tea has same effect, sometimes caffeine and a cigarette is even a super boost. Funny is that there is often a placebo effect with coffee, you know the possible effects so there will be the effects... So Decaf coffee can have a placebo...
  15. Sadly the easiest Inquisitor beginning is not really playable the longrun: cluster and predamage packs and turn them to slaves one by one reverse polarity will move some of your damage to your slaves the slaves will split up mobs so you take less damage - But bossfights are almost impossible before having x% life leech weapons for the doubleganger with this approach
  16. I am still the opinion that a single cup of coffee the day is enough:
  17. The season for bear garlic is almost over but: Our around the garden recipe: Bear garlic (garden close to forest) young nettles (around waste water pit) dried tomatoes (the ugly ones which were riping assymetric, and wouldn't look nice on a bread) roasted walnuts (own trees) thistle-oil (a woman does this in a neighbour village) mixed in a big mortar and put in bottles. When used on noodles, parmesan cheese is freshly added. Tastes great as a base for pizza or on a baguette with tomatos and mozarella or... So we normally do no cheese for the storable pesto in bottles.
  18. Isn't over yet, new rain and damm's are softened already. Add that either idiots or a terror group mailed government that they will damage damm's- So now extra people needed to guard the damms. At our place: Cows still around. Valley is full of mosquitos because of water pits not dried out yet but sun shining. This morning a helicopter dropped an biological insectoid made into pellets by deepfreezing in liquid nitrogen.
  19. A coffeemaker is fastfood. Hand grinded and hand filtered coffee is love, life and philosophy.....
  20. Hi and welcome to the forum! In my opinion a single point into dual wielding is enough. Hit chance is mainly done with sockets late levels: -x% chance that enemy can't evade and such. And the doublehit-mastery bonus is only for normal left click attacks. My current Seraphim is level 113 and is like: tactics 9 armour 75 dualwield 1 celestial lore 75 celestial focus 113 concentration 1 combat discipline 61 toughness 75 ancient magic 75 spell resistance 75 constitution 1 However melee was just for the time till I got magic running. So just modified battlestance for dodging and reflecting and socketed hitchance and regeneration per hit to recharge my pillars with weapon hits. But I wasn't in the desert at level 38. I preferred leveling a bit to around level 50 in undead and t-mutant areas to make good use of my light aura.
  21. Here is the reason why I like this character: Mahlstrom with and without CA-Range equipment. Both, Mahlstrom and Energyblaze are modified for full range in my character build and have same range. So the same area would be covered by an energyblaze. Without equipment the Mahlstrom has a radius of 1500, with equipment around 2700 at my current character level. Shield of Protections normally does a stunning pulse every 2.5 seconds in a radius of 400, with the equipment the radius is 720, so modifying it for stun is no mistake in this build. Now imagine the energy blazes placed at screen corners and how far away away you will be able to attack enemies. Minimap at lowest zoom and biggest size to see enemies in advance is no mistake.
  22. A fifth of the technical equipment of the volunteer firefighters in our district built a convoy of 23 trucks and moved to the flooded areas. So the whole emergency plans of our district had to be reworked to guarantee minimal response times with less local trucks. Since I am a part of the group which does the plans I have to stay in case our district has an emergency. TV was showing several convoys on Autobahns: red firefighters, blue THW (technical help organisation), white Red Cross ones. People were refreshed about the street laws for convoys. Leading car and follow up cars have a blue flag, last car of the convoy has a green flag. A convoy counts as one vehicle. If the leading car passes a traffic light at green the whole convoy can pass. You are not allowed to drive through 2 cars with flags. Yellow flags mark damaged cars.
  23. Familiar is at CA-level 71 with 200 runes read in, but no dragon magic lore or focus. So it is not modified at all. It is just for the willpower to boost spell resistance skill and intelligence for more spell damage. Runes of protection are at CA-level 144: stun: every 2.5 seconds there is a stunning pulse and the normal range is nearly doubled because the character has optimized +CA-range equipment. ranged-reflect: Stunning works nice for melee range, so no big need for better physical melee protection, ranged reflect is also good for non physical ranged attacks CA-block: This is mainly to reduce number of lifeleech attacks hitting me.
  24. Even the not flooded areas suffer. Ground is so wet and soft that harvest of strawberries or vegs is impossible with machines. Not even that the crop is rotting, farmers can't do new plants as long the ground is to swampy for machines. Lot of rain is always a high risc of fungoid diseases on corn. No shipping, so more transports with trucks = higher costs of transport = higher prices at markets, fuel station. Lot of dead nestlings of insect eating birds around our house, stall and barns: barn swallows, common house martins, common swifts, ... At work we place maggots at known feeding places of bats. They breed in the bunker we use to store explosives. South germany: The town which was most in news today is Passau. It has 3 rivers joining in the town and all 3 rivers had high water. Worst flooding for the last 500 years.
