  1. Just one word: Steinpilzspecksosse I will shoot everyone who will steal the fat out of it! If you just left your mother and live in your first own rooms and are only able to cook one recipe, then probably replacing the oil with olive oil is better. I think it is a difference if you go unhealthy once a week or all the time. I think I have now to add the recipe: Steinpilzspecksosse 15gramm dried Steinpilze (variant of bolete mushrooms, in shops you get mainly porcinos), we collect and dry them ourself water them 15 minutes in a quarter litre of water, sieve them, keep the water 100gramm smoked pork belly bacon (durchwachsener Speck), cut in cubes, put in a pan and heat till the fat from the cubes makes them swim. Now add the mushrooms and roast them a bit in the fat Cool down with the mushroom-water and 250gramm Schmand-(20% local sour cream) before the mushrooms get too brown. Add some dried forest fruits (blue berries, forest strawberries, ...) and boil the mix for a short time. Add salt, pepper, some fine cut herbs at your taste and use potatoe stark to thicken the sauce if needed. Enough for around a pound of noodles. Fruit-wine noodles The above sauce tastes best with selfmade fruit-wine noodles: 500gramm spelt flour - doppelgriffiges Mehl, hart to translate, flour(mehl) is normally milled very fine so that you can't feel single particles if moving it between your fingers. Griffig means that you have/feel grip(Griff), means you can feel single particles. It is sized somewhere between flour(below 0.1 millimetres particle size) and semolina (0.2 millimetres too 0.5 millimetres particle size). 1 large egg, the yolk of another egg 300 millilitres fruit wine (I use self made, but apple-wine can be used too) mix it, form a ball, wrap some plastic foil around, cool it in refridgerator for an hour Form it however you want with a noodle machine. The dough is more elastic than by just using water and the noodles have a nice fruit taste which fits to some recipes. Lot of work, so normally we do it at a rainy sunday. But fun to make with kids, collecting the mushrooms, fruits, making the wine, flour, the noodles, nearly all the stuff in the recipes done by ourself. Tastes double so good if you are proud in what you created. picture from a german cooking forum:
  2. In Shrunken_Head are pictures for the different pets for Shrunken_Head. There was a yellow dryad(introduced by CM-patch) pet picture in GSF: I will need some time to get the new CM-patch heads myself: first I need stuff for the Waffenmeisterin to optimize her for headhunting, then I want to try out headhunting using single-target modded disease, and then I have to find the beasts dropping the heads. So probably rather a weekend after mother's day.
  3. Look at the attached image at this post in german sacred2 forum and tell me that you are not going to download CM-patch and hunt for yellow dryad heads right away to play a voodoo: http://forum.sacred2.de/showpost.php?p=990683&postcount=218 Shrunken heads thread http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13929 List of new heads in CM-patch http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=13929&view=findpost&p=6876574 Some more heads to test the head hunting abilities of our Waffenmasterin.
  4. As soon I have some time I will hunt for the new shrunken heads in CM-patch. I guess nobody tried to optimize viperish disease for boss hunting yet? The level and difficulty of a shrunken head seems to affect totem damage even for the same head-type. So hunting for niob yellow heads might be a good idea. But doing this we run normally into a problem: on one side: we want a good drop chance by running several twisted torments so the drop chances stack on the other side: we want short fights because of the risc fighting bosses with a dryad. Dryads are probably the class which is weakest against spells. So one idea could be to use viperish disease and not twisted torment for head hunting. Another unsolved problem: will a fitting shrunken head boost the disease damage in a boss fight? I wonder if the Waffenmeisterin-Dryad could be made into a disease-boss-hunter by optimizing the equipment. Way too lazy to start a new character. EDIT: Look at the attached image at this post in german sacred2 forum and tell me that you are not going to download CM-patch and hunt for yellow dryad heads right away. http://forum.sacred2.de/showpost.php?p=990683&postcount=218
  5. @masteff: I fear my daughter would consider this trike as a trike for seniors and not for a 12 year old. The visibility part is tricky: my wife was trailing me when testing the trike with her car and her opinion is that it is as high as a kids-bike for a 8 year old. And cars shouldn't overlook 8 year old kids. @gogo:The trike from the first post is foldable in seconds to something you can move like a chairwheel. Another quick solution is to just lift the front to 90 degrees and park it on the backside of the seat. So room take is like a chairwheel, but close to 6 feet height needed. Another solution would be do put all the electric, battery and engine in an easy to attach pusher-trailer. The trailer could be used on any on our bicycles, the tandem and the dog-scooter. Would be technically the easiest solution. No need for super-expensive high quality batteries, no risc to ruin the engine if trying to start at a too big uphill climb, more easy technic and sensors and we could start with normal lead gelee batteries and wait till battery prices drop. At countryside where everyone knows everyone she could also exchange lead batteries at every nearby fuelstation. But the problematic part on a motorized trailer seems to be the law. A technical institute has to sign for the savety and then you have to visit the local bureau for vehicles, show the savety papers and have to get the final okay. My belly feeling says to go for the trailer, it has some extra cargo space, more universal, probably repairs could be done by myself, ... The above trailer has the advantage that the technical okay as a pusher for sportly touring chairwheels is already done and could be copied for a bicycle pusher. The trailer pusher has an psychological advantage too: as soon she medically is no longer needing the electric extra power the trailer would be totally removed and nothing on her yet to buy new bicycle would remember the need for it. Pusher trailer seem to be 120 years old, this one with a STEAM-MACHINE is from 1893:

  7. I wonder if the liking of the Alakazam design might be something freudian from the unconscious mind: Felling in love to the ice elf?
  8. I allways considered them as bicycles for old people. Well the first ones from a decade back were just this: an easy to enter frame and battery-pack and engine added on the cargo rear. But now with our daughter wanting to be mobile again after her accident, but muscle training needed for at least one more year an e-bike is to be considered. The damage to her old bicycle was calculated as 800 euro by court and health insurance will pay 1000 euro for an easy e-bike for rehabilitation training. Both my father and grandfather in law were former motor-bike racers and now run a motor-bike repair shop. So we could save some more money because of their contacts. In germany e-bikes below 250Watt and automatic power off when reaching 25kilometres per hour can be driven without a license. So the above bicycle would have this, 360WH battery power, recuberation (battery loads when braking), 30 gears, disc brakes, .... We could get one for 2450 euro so 650 euro still to pay. I was trying some e-bikes last 2 weeks and some of them didn't fulfill minimum requiries: 50 kilometres just on batteries below 60 pounds weight able to drive real bad local roads looking not like a bicycle for handicapped people (wish from my daughter) usable by my wife too (as a doc she thinks she could save time using such a thing to visit old people at their homes) ... An alternativ thinking was to go for an e-trike. The advantages of a tricycle are: better muscle re-hab lower point of gravity when falling feet-on and no head-on crashes better suited to watch countryside when driving three wheels are a better stand when mounting the trike large cargo area the bicycle grows: from 120-200cm driver possible by moving the pedals we know the manufacturer already from our pino-tandem (thread about bicycle tours at darkmatters: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14817) theft - police reports more stealing off bicycles than trikes ... Disadvantages: costs - 400 euro more, not counting that the engine has to be attached by my father in law hills - you can't go out of the saddle at long uphill streets (but have to consider the engine) transport in bus/train - way harder, because of weight, clumsiness cars may overlook it more easly because of the low silhouette ... Is any of you considering an e-bike and could share factors like battery endurance, how many load cycles till they have to be changed, front or rear wheel driven (trike would be front wheel), ...
  9. It's rhubarb time, rhubarb crumb yeast dough cake and now rhubarb ice. My brother was experimenting with Rhubarb ice, a rather fresh/sour taste. Make a rhubarb compote first: Take 4 rods of rhubarb. First skin the rhubarb, remove all the long fibres and cut it in tiny quarters. Add 50-75 gramm sugar and boil it to compote. (tastes good with some vanilla and together with potatoe pancakes too) Whip 0.2 litres aromized whipping cream (my brother used the meadowsweet from a few articles before to do it, alternativly add some fresh vanilla). Mix 0.1l milk, 0.1litre Schmand(smetana, sour cream variant with 20% fat), 0.04l crème de cassis (to turn the lightly brown-red colour into a more appetizing red) and the compote. Carefully add the whipped cream to this mix without destroying the volume. Put in the icing machine. Hope I translated everything correct. P.S.: tried the Choco Chili already?
  10. What seems to be bad at shadow warrior mages: Physical damage only - ancient magic seems to break only damage mitigation but not high physical resists. Using physical attacks with reduce armour modifiers would no longer be a pure shadow mage. Shadow mages must be played as 2.5 aspects builds, so 7 skills are already planed: 2 focus/lore, ancient magic, combat discipline, concentration, ... A jump does less damage than an exploding fireball at a bigger execution time. Fortifications are nice to play if instantly recharged with reg per hit - as a pure shadow mage even with 100% chance to halve regeneration times, you will have 1-2 towers less than a hybrid. Only one dam,age type demands that you bring ancient magic to mastery quickly ,so developing the 2nd aspect will be delayed to around level 90+.
  11. Lucky that you can choose colours. Our oldest is 194centrimetres and has woman size 47(europe) which would be 13.5 US(woman). And then several problems pop up: most sport shoes are calculated for smaller people, so the sole may gets too flexible if just magnified for bigger people. Normally sport shoes for girls end at size 12. Her current solution is to choose uni-sex stuff. And visiting a taylor or shoemaker for custommade stuff. Then I try to fight with tax bureau for the extra costs... Girls larger than 190cm can ask for lowered taxes. So as long she visits school her country girl style might be okay: jeans, cowboy boots, country hat (to mask her size a bit), ... But ever tried to get dancing shoes in 47 for a homecoming ball?
  12. Preparing a fish by putting it in sour milk and then adding flour is called Müllerin-Art in germany. Müllerin is wife of a miller, Art = a la. French name is à la meunière. French name some sauces à la meunière too, but in germany Müllerin-Art is sour milk and flour. It seems there are different names for the primal cuttings in english, american, german usage. 13 would be Hüfte. But even this Hüfte has diffrent parts, mainly because recipes got international now, european community tries an international naming, but old traditional recipes still have their old cut namings. When doing butchering at farm of my grandparents they had a name for each muscle of a cow. So the Hüfte can be Hüftsteak, Rumpsteak, Tafelspitz, ... Tafelspitz would be the part in next picture: A recipe for Tafelspitz can be found here: http://www.wien.info/en/shopping-wining-dining/viennese-cuisine/recipes/tafelspitz Living in an area with lot of fruit trees and wild herbs like horseradish we do it normaly to celebrate end of garden work in autumn and serve it with: roasted mini potatoes (the smallest from garden which are too small for salade or to be stored over winter) a mix of minced fallen fruits like pears, apples, Speierlinge minced horseradish with Schmand (smetana, variant of sour cream). We use the fruits which weren't picked but fallen from the trees (mainly because too high for ladders, decade old trees at hill sides). They are overripe and really sweet, but can't be stored and have to be used right away. It looks much like the wiki picture, just that the roasted potatoes aren't cut: I still have several roots of horse-radish stored in our clay cellar, so continue with: Horse radish
  13. Our second returned from hospital finally and at monday she will be able to visit school after months being away. Her biology and english classes started a project while she was away to help nature: doing barriers for toads at breeding season and collect them and bring them to other side of a heavy traffic road, collecting waste in forest, building artificial nests, ... In english classes they have to write about this project in english. Our daughter is not yet really able to do all the walking, so I told her that she could build "Hummelklappen" and watch for the Hummeln (humble bee or is it bumble bee?) when the young queens leave their nest. A "Hummelklappe" is something like a cat flap at house doors, but way smaller. Young queens search for openings to build a new nest. So you attach a Hummelklappe at a 'bumblebee hive' and have the flap slightly opened when they are searching for nests. When you see the queen flying in and out of the nest for a while you close the flap more and more. The queen will finally learn to open the flap but other animals(mainly wax moths) won't know the trick, so the nest is quite safe. The small stick in the next photo is used to reduce the opening each day a bit. The plastic is bended at the end, so the bumblebee can move their heads below the plastic and open the flap from outside. Video with bumble bees using the flap: http://www.myvideo.de/watch/6437417/Steinhummel_4 I have my own interest in bumble bees. Cherries are problematic in my area. The time they blossom it is often too cold yet for bees to fly. So people do all possible tricks to have bumble bees around their fruit trees. Bumble-bees can fly at way lower temperatures than bees. So what is needed: Is keeping bumble bees at fruit farmers common in other countries, or is climate warm enough to use bees? What is a good english page about keeping bumble bees, bumble bee flaps,... I think it is okay to translate Hummelklappe as bumblebee-flap, but is there a special word for it which is used by experts but not in a dictionary. Or are people in your area use other systems than flaps, for smaller bumble bee races often a flexible pipe is used.
  14. It is named Schwarzwälder Kirsch (black forest cherry) in germany. There are other cake recipes from black forest so in germany normally the Kirsch is added. The black forest area grows mainly a cherry named Schattenmorelle (schatten = shadow, morelle from latin morella=little black people). The brandy is traditionally destilled cherry wine named Kirsch. This time of the year: when local baking house is heated at weekends: yeast dough and doing a crumb cake with rhubarb. See also Bondbugs inglenook thread for cakes done at baking houses, starting page 5 I think: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=8203
  15. There was a song which represented germany at the european song contest 2000 named "Wadde hadde dudde da?". http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gH4WCnMh-Uo The singer was inspired by a lady who did baby language with her dog, saying something like "What have you there?". Did you copyrighted Wattaveudun already? Next top10 song?
  16. We live close to Dillenburg ... So in summer we see thousands of these car signs.

    Spider Mouse

    I would prefer the spider:
  18. Yes, that's why no of my Ice and Blood characters has staff lore. I felt like cheating. But perhaps a dragon mage could be played as a normal attack staff shooter. The companion adding nice intelligence, can be modified for chance to burn, add some damage lore, and re-target quickly after each shot so that damage lore can do its work once mastered.
  19. There is at least one no-battery-weapon with armour: Sacred_2:Dragonslayer. So I support that the battery is more a weapon than armour.
  20. Oops, my oldest has a T-shirt reading which she wears when selling tickets at a nearby camping place to earn some pocket money. "Schwarze Schrift auf gelbem Grund, halte Abstand, bleib gesund!" "Black writing on yellow ground, keep distance, stay alive!" Back on topic: Just read the great questinfo which is now on wiki. The english karlu texts mentions that the lines are plagiarism. So it seems that the Erlkönig parody/plagiarism was lost in translation: ...No I didn't copy this poem from someone else.... The german text says Selbstreflexion (self-reflection), while the english says self-deliberation. Self-reflexion would be the theory what a human is: cogito ergo sum, or a bipedal without feathers, ... So Karlu seems to be quite a philosoph, trying to define what a zombie is.
  21. In ice and blood the SW would have ancient magic. I allways wondered how killing spree would be used.
  22. I added a poll, I allways wanted to learn how to do them. The question is not about the character with the best magic damage. The question is which character is best to learn optimizing magical damage. So it shouldn't be too easy on one side but on the other side it shouldn't be impossible to play the character as a mage. In memories of my singing barbarian from Diablo2, I was considering to try the :)impossible:): playing a shadow warrior just with spells - probably starting with gold, hybrid early game. I hope to get knowledge in magical damage is calculated, how it is best optimized and have some fun(very important factor). But is the shadow warrior the best to test this: he has not much spells. So you can't test many aspects of different spell forms in a single character. My time is very limited and I probably will do what I hate: do speed leveling with a factor 5 or 10. So all you magic users around (as I wrote I never did a pure magic char before in sacred2) vote and perhaps add a note why you would try this character class to learn optimizing spell damage.
  23. Useful threads: Fiest article for staff lore in the AddOn http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14317 Pelting strikes and dual wield + staff lore, tapir wrote about his experience http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=15493 Staff shooting: http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=16593 Inqui shopper with staff lore and dual wield http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14687 Massive Area of Effect dryad with staff lore http://darkmatters.org/forums/index.php?showtopic=14581
  24. The civil law stuff at court is done. He was forced to pay into an insurance which will cover surgeries that won't be handled by our health insurance- which is a quite good one, paying surgeries, hotel for the first 2 weeks my wife was at hospital close to daughter, rehabilation, paid house teacher if needed to close up to class learning level again (but it seems she overtook the class, bored and read all the books till schoolend already at hospital)... But any cosmetic or muscle surgeries which may be needed in 10 years wouldn't be covered by our family insurance which ends when kids finished university. These costs would be covered by the insurance the other guy has to pay in. The other thing is that our health insurance will now try to get the money they paid from him or his insurances. But no need for our daughter to appear at court again. The criminal law part, is it the word, the case which is done by the state, he said guilty at the pre-hearing, so no need for our family to appear at court. Guess his lawyer made a deal for less punishment if he says guilty. It is okay for us, noone of our family want to walk through the accident again mentally.
  25. You people from the netherlands live too close to east friesian, which has Otto has most known citizen ;P Or perhaps Erlkönig as heavy metal?
