Old Sacred HC geek coming back to play Sacred 2
Ryanrocker replied to Trillain's topic in DarkMatters: Introductions.
I kept reading this sentence like 3 times before I saw the difference -
Also available 5pm CST for sponsors!

I played Sacred Citadel, and thought it was fun for the type of game that is. I think it would have been far better received if it didn't have the Sacred series branded on to it. Which is also the problem I think Sacred 3 will run into. A game that is probably pretty fun on it's own, but because the Sacred series is branded on to it we expect so much more.

But CD on consoles also doesn't factor in cast speed and is entirely based on weapon speed. However, you're obviously using DB as your attack so I suppose you're okay

A question about Combat Arts regen time
Ryanrocker replied to Trillain's topic in Sacred 2 General Discussion
The +XXX% that you see going up when you put points into Stamina is because that is how much regeneration you get OFF what you have. So it is meant to go up, not down and you are seeing correctly -
Heya podgie, I mentioned this in another topic but I don't think they are trying to gear MMOs for chiildren. It's just an artstyle that has becoming increasing popular due to lower resources and ease of creating something fictional instead of trying to mimic real life. Although PoE is not an MMO, they are STILL trying to hire artists who do "real-life human physics modeling" because there just aren't enough of them. I do have to agree that some games may be taking this cartoon look a bit too far recently (ie. Everquest), and that a balance with realism should exist somewhat

Mechanix X-E (Ice and Blood)
Ryanrocker replied to vaclaf's topic in Sacred 2 Guides - Temple Guardian
I vote dropping CD, as that seems to be the one skill the build can function without. It does bring extra damage, but you can most likely make up for that using your shopper -
Ermahgerd, SSD power My desktop boots to Windows in roughly 12 seconds, now that I'm spoiled everything else seems slow

An economics major was trying to explain it to me, but I just can't believe you can create a currency

Actually, there is a growing trend for having the GPU doing some of the workload when you're doing intensive stuff like video processing and gaming. Plus the dual cpu/gpu datamining for bitcoins!

I know they were at the QuakeCon panel today, but unfortunately I missed the presentation. Do you know what the business model is by any chance?

Heh, can he post that in this thread/PM those of us who will need it? Should just be an overlay layer of those images on the video. Pretty excited to start the S1 vids over here

I think due to WoW being like first "king" of MMOs, their influence has rippled out into the gaming community. Alot of these game developers who grew up playing the game will really enjoy that graphic style and willingly or not it will show up in some form in the game. Also, keep in mind that many artists find it easy to create something fictional/cartoony looking instead of trying to mimic real life

Some benchmarks you're probably gonna want to keep your eye on are at least 6-8gbs of RAM and a decent dedicated card for gaming. Although the current Intel 4000 are decent for running browser games, anything more demanding is going to need a dedicated card. Although the ROG (Republic of Gamers) series has excellent internals, you'll be paying premium for the whole "gamer" tag. On the other hand, most laptops that aren't specifically labeled gaming today have a touchscreen, which also increases the price. If you can I'd try to search for a non-ROG Asus laptop that does not have a touch screen but comes with a dedicated video card

Well the first question I would have is: what are you planning to use it for? Out of the above brands you mentioned, I am going to be a spokesperson for Asus. Asus has a much better build quality and reliability compared to Acer products, and (tend) not to be as ludicrously expensive as an Alienware. If cooling is a concern, build quality (which leads to better heat dissipation) is probably pretty high on your priority list

As a player who has rocked both forms of Sacred 2, each is an entirely separate beast. Even if you were to switch it over to the console UI, some things wouldn't match up (IE: No energy shield indicator bar, 4 slots X 3 bar Combat Art setup, no relic bar). There are some mods to spice up the UI like making the health bar colored and experience bar color changes. But I don't think a full PC to console revamp would ever work.

I really enjoyed this episode, it was pretty full of good one-liners and character personality

Heh, effort is something DS sure doesn't want to put in I think
