  1. You don't really need cobalt strike, it was just a matter of adding some diversity for Katran. You can just as well not get DA Lore and get something else in its turn. (But DA Focus is very important, so do get this one ) But from the DA CAs, you'll definitely want: Grand Invigoration (as High as possible) Shadow Step (I keep it at one point) You might also want Expulse Magic.
  2. Oh... lol... thank you! Silly me! When he said horse-mounted, I immediately imagined he was talking about the hell-hound
  3. Thank you for your advice! The thing is, I always do my best to keep the distance. But the caves in the wastelands are the only area where I can get killed before even realizing who's doing the killing. The wastelands region is the only region where I abandon + skills gear for defense gear. :)
  4. Thanks! Yes, I know she's very weak, that's why I do almost always keep my distance, but in the wastelands caves, it happens very often that you enter the cave and you're surrounded. Also, those demons are very fast. I've managed to get past them in silver though. It seems they weren't so tough after all, at least not in silver. They did only 100ish damage per hit. (They had 229 damage, half magic, I had 600ish physical armour and 150 magic armour; So I would like to ask... where can I find some maths on how armour works in Sacred 2? )
  5. The replies are great, shed some light for me! But I would like to ask a more char-specific question: I am now going to go through silver wastelands with my new high elf, after my last high-elf died in platinum. The main problem I have here is with champion blade demons, the ones which look like the aliens from the Alien movie series. Two of those paired together could kill my High Elf virtually instantly. What kind of equipment should I try to get? + Armour and + Max Hitpoints? Physical Damage mitigation? Defense? Chance to evade?
  6. Of course not. But seeing as I've taken no melee char past silver, I wouldn't know about mobs reflecting melee damage. That's more along the lines of what I was asking. Is reflection so bad? Does it occur so frequently? And if anyone is familiar with TQ's Toxeus, how would you compare his reflection with the one in Sacred 2? Also... if I want to play melee chars, do I need to get that opp's chance to reflect damage down by 100%? Because if reflection is as bad as you make me think, then even 1% is too high a chance, since it's, as I see it at the moment, 1% chance of instantly suiciding. As for the wounds info, thank you! That will come in handy! I'm used to wounding damage in Diablo and TQ, and it sucks in both of those series of games. I'm therefore used to avoiding it, and wound mods tend to get ignored. ~~~ LE: "This modifier increases the speed at which the character moves while on foot. It does NOT affect the speed of mounted characters!" Damn... so +run speed doesn't count when mounted Yeah, I know, off-topic. It's just that I've found this from that page you've linked to.
  7. I don't get it. What's so special about reducing the opponent's chance of reflecting melee damage? Also... could you please explain the concept of deep wounds?
  8. @Noah 9k If you have modded Incandescent Skin the way Katran suggested, you may also read more runes for it. As for the other CAs, it's a matter of reading runes until regeneration time is at your maximum acceptable threshold. At least that's how I've done it. With IS and GI on, Blazing Tempest takes 1.4 seconds to regenerate, and I've raised BT to level 4, through reading runes. If you keep all CAs other than buffs at lvl1, you'll get at one point when they do not so much damage and you have 0.1 regen for all of them. On the other hand, lower regens come in handy when having faster cast. Yeah, I know, I've confused you even more. The point is, you can read a few runes now and then so long as you keep CA regen rates the way you feel most comfortable. I keep AF at 1 second, BT at 1.5 and Incendiary Shower at 1.5 seconds. @Katran How many play hours do you have on this High Elf? I am curious how much it takes to get to 200. My new Pyro HE is at level 29, just finished Swamps, after playing 8 hours.
  9. I am also hoping, as others have already said, for better storyline. While Sacred 2 has great gameplay and graphics, the storyline is incredibly poor, and that much poorer when compared to the other two main titles, Diablo (1&2) and Titan Quest: Immortal Throne. I like Sacred 2 and the other games I've just mentioned because I like this kind of RPG best, so that's why I've said "other two main titles". That's from my personal perspective.
  10. Thank you, but... that feels too much like cheating to me, at least at the moment. Given how long it takes to level, I might use your advice after I've "graduated" a char to level 150, and then I might mod the game as you suggested, for other chars. I hope you don't take this the wrong way. I do thank you for the advice, it will certainly come in handy in about a month, maybe faster if I get to level 150 sooner than that. I do have one more question, for when I do that: if I have the necessary xp requirement with a character that hasn't completed any campaign, can I start the campaign directly in platinum, for instance? Or is it only allowed in multiplayer?
  11. I want to ask you people something, it's not quite on-topic: how much time does it take for you to get a character at 75? It took me a day and a half to get my HE at 70, without doing side quests, only the main and char quest and doing xp grinding. I was in platinum at level 70, then my char died again and I decided to start over. (not playing HC, cause I don't want to lose the items and gold which can go to other chars, but I'll restart this char )
  12. Nice guide! I'm playing a Seraphim based on it I am only curious about something: is there a particular reason why you don't like the seraphim riding her cute tiger? I mean... is the regen penalty so bad, or is there another reason?
  13. Pff... I've died again And this time it happened because of my stupidity/overconfidence. I was simply standing still and throwing IS on the first dragon one fights against in the light campaign and I simply forgot to drink potions. This time I'll start again. It is kind of annoying, though , this will waste me a lot of time. How much does it usually take you to get to level 75? I've gotten to 70 in something like 1 day and 12 hours or so.
  14. I've very recently upgraded from 4 GB to 8 GB and I haven't observed much of a difference in how Sacred 2 runs. I think it does certain things poorly. My system is: CPU: Intel Quad Core @ 2.5 GHz (I think this is the weak spot in my system, not certain though) 8 GB DDR3 RAM 1 GB DDR3 Nvidia Graphics Board, dunno exactly what the model is called, GX2 or something like that. In all fairness, I should specify that I'm too stubborn to drop Sacred 2 Graphics below Very High but then again... given the system, I can't accept anything less. (I'm running 64 Vista, btw; it looks like one of the very few OS that can handle 8 GB RAM)
  15. Certain things are a matter of personal preference. However, I think you should aim for having concentration, arrant pyromancer lore and arrant pyromancer focus all mastered when you're level 75. That being said, I for one prefer AP Focus, I think it offers better results than AP Lore, and you have enough damage anyway. As soon as you get at least 2 skill point allocations available each level up, pump 1 in focus and 1 in lore. Very soon, you should have both AP Lore and AP Focus at your level, and you should do your best to get that. (I.e. if you have 3 skill points for each level up, and you have 27 APL and 26 APF and you've just levelled up to 28, add 1 in APL and 2 in APF) So... always make sure that APL and APF are so high that you no longer have a plus sign near them, whenever you have enough skill points. When you get to more than 2 skill points per level, you should add concentration to that mix: you always want Concentration, APL and APF to be as high as your level. (without bonuses)
  16. Well... I'm kind of afraid to go try again in the wastelands, but next time I'm there, I'll try your method. I think I'll also lose all the +skills gear when I'm there and go for chance to block, chance to evade, max hitpoints, defense, armour. The only other curiosity I still have is... what char level were you when you did gold wastelands? Was I too "young" at 60ish? As for the temp mastery removal: thank you for the info. I'm still playing 2.34 for now, because I've got a busy period and want a game to unwind. Installing various Sacred 2 stuff takes too much time, which I'm unwilling to lose right now. But if it's fixed, I guess I'll get 2.40, maybe this week-end. Thank you!
  17. 2^8 for small ints (255 max) 2^16 for normal ints (around 35k max) 2^32 for long ints (around 2 billion max) Of course, CA levels are float numbers, but I don't know how exactly to describe a range for float numbers, since it's a matter of fitting both the integer part and the decimals in 32 bits. If they've used float, one could probably get 2^30 level tops. Care to try and raise the CA level to around 500 million? And, since after a few hundred points, one gets 0.1 levels per 1 rune, you'd need approx. 5 billion runes. (After rethinking things, since both the number of runes memorized and the level are counted, I don't think you'd be able to read 5 billion runes. You'd probably be more likely to be able to read 2 billion runes for about 200 million CA levels) The only number we can really test for is the small int one. If it's not that, then it doesn't really matter anymore, since one needs too much patience in order to get to the other thresholds.
  18. What char are you close to 200 with? Please say it's the Pyro High Elf! I want to see those print screens of how the PHE looks like at 200
  19. Well, thank you for the new info! I might make a smith, although... I kind of keep thinking that a smith is of lesser importance than an item hunter and a bargainer. It makes sense to have a smith helping out melee characters, I guess, though.
  20. So the blacksmith arts? Is there any other thing of importance which improves with the level? For instance, is it ever possible to socket a +10% CTFV ring into a item and obtain +20% CTFV?
  21. Thankfully, there are CAs which can be learnt ad nauseam, such as the HE's Grand Invigoration. There is no penalty incurred by the CA, so if one's patient enough, one can theoretically learn GI until they reach the programming limits for numbers in this game.
  22. The numbers I've used were purely for the example, round numbers to make the maths simpler. I wouldn't, for instance, socket something in silver if I could in niobium, but I wanted to know what the difference were. Also, when I mention smith skill 0, I mean forging at a blacksmith. I mean, I still don't understand a good reason to use a skill point for smithing. Chance not to lose items isn't that important to me. (Although it might be later on when I get better items ) Anyway, your reply has cleared some questions for me, so thank you!
  23. I don't actually like the main quest. I think it's rather unimaginative. It is full of small funny/interesting things, but... the story as a whole is lacking, so far as my own opinion goes. I do, however, like the SW character quest. I am also very curious about the TG character quest. The way it starts, with "We've forgotten our equipment" or something like that is very funny. Also, please note that I was referring to the light main campaign, since it's the only one I've finished.
