  1. I had to go and look, I needed my sunglasses to get a good look at all the pretty colors.
  2. I just went and took a look at the roster. That would be so sweet to have on the back of a T-shirt with the logo on the front.
  3. Thank you one and all. Tis a happy day here now that the house has gotten [D.a.r.k]er. It's wonderful to be a full member now. And I'm sorry to say Erling that once you are married you can never be the same rank as your beautiful wife. She will always be one rank higher. Isn't that right dear, (sigh) yes, dear.....
  4. Thanks the one you have reviews for sound interesting. As promised here are some books I have read and enjoyed. These books are all part of a series, all by Jim Butcher. The series is called "The Dresden Files" The main character is Harry Dresden he is a private investigator in the Chicago area, he is also a wizard. It takes place in modern America with modern beliefs toward magic, elves, demons, etc. Magic also has a negative interaction with modern technology, an example would be when he tries to use his answering machine (one of the old tape models) he treats it as if it will blow up in his face because there is a chance that it might. he gets work as a consultant with the Chicago police for hard to solve/unexplained cases. These books I devoured very quickly(about a week each). These book titles are listed in order ( the author has been signed to write at least 13 books in this series). Storm Front Fool Moon (yes, werewolves are involved but I won't say how ) Grave Peril summer Knight death Masks Blood Rites Dead beat Proven Guilty There are two more in the series but I haven't read them yet. But I plan to as soon as Dawn finishes them (she reads faster than me). The titles of these books are White Night Small Favor I highly recommend these books, they are an wonderful blend of fantasy and mystery. Enjoy More books that I have read to come.
  5. I love to read, but the only time I get to enjoy a book is during lunch or breaks at work. I enjoy sci-fi, fantasy, and the occasional mystery. Just would like to hear about what others are reading (it could even help me pick out my next read). I will put books up here that I've enjoyed/devoured and a little bit about them.
  6. We are thinking of you. You know Dawn and I are here for you to vent to. And if we were just a little closer we would have been in our car and knocking on your door to give you an ear to bend and a shoulder to lean on. We are here for you and you and your mom are in our hearts.
  7. I didn't get it too, but I got all the loving I need right here at home. The only spam I want to get comes in a can and tastes good grilled or diced and mixed with mac and cheese.
  8. Hi all, for some reason mom can't see the forum. As you might be able to guess I can. She tried first at work and couldn't and then at home. she found a back way in and is posting now.
  9. Happy Birthday Schot Hope you have a if you have a party.
  10. For me it is bacon, simple and sweet. When we would go to visit my Grandmother and Grandfather me and my two brothers would sleep in a bed room right above the her kitchen and there were vents in the floor for heat. The smell would come right in and wake us up in the morning. We also knew that she would be using the bacon fat to fry her homemade doughnuts, we would come downstairs and get a warm doughnut and a hug. For me the smell of bacon is a hug from Grandma. She passed away in the late 70's and I miss her but every once in a while I can still "get a hug from Grandma".
  11. One of my favorites (my family being in New England since the Mayflower) is bread pudding, and my brother makes chocolate bread for it and serves it with ice cream.
  12. Alton Brown Rules! I love his show on the Food Network! Cooking shows 24/7 Alton Brown, the Bill Nye of the Culinary world. As for eggs it All depends. Fried solid for sandwiches (with or without meat, bacon, sausage, etc.) cooked just like Carolyn and put on top of corned beef hash. scrambled hard with toast. and a good Katsu donburi, which is a Japanese dish that uses a bowl with a tight fitting lid. First it is filled with steamed rice, then crispy breaded chicken is laid on top to form a circle, a sauce is then spread across everything and a raw egg is dropped gently in the center of the circle, the lid is then quickly placed on top so the heat and steam cook the egg similar to an egg once over easy.
  13. I want to thank everyone for their help with rebuilding my Glad . Hopefully the next time I get to play the lag monster will be away. I had a great time and am looking forward to playing with everyone and getting to know all the people Mom has been talking about.

  16. Hail and Well Met fellow adventurers. I come before ye, a humble supplicant, seeking knowledge most dark and rare.  Please grant me membership in thy fellowship. I have met members of your clan and find their company most jovial and lighthearted. Their company does bring laughter to a tired soul at the end of a hard and busy day. Thank you for you consideration. Yours in Fellowship, The Lord of the Northern Realm P. S. Mom said she would hurt me if I didn't apply.
  17. I'm sorry but Mom burned all the Rum as a signal fire and the new shipment hasn't arrived yet. Got to find out who she was trying to send a signal to.....
  18. I feel for everyone who has to wait. I does look cool. And here it opens next month. But I got to wait because Mom and me have to find a baby sitter before we can go. But an excellent source for up coming films is www.ropeofsilicon.com for those who might be interested here is a link there to the new Incredible Hulk film http://www.ropeofsilicon.com/movie/incredi...k/trailers/6015 it opens here in June.
  19. Well Tomi, the reason why I asked is The Evil Dead that most people remember is actually a remake by the same people who originally made it, same cast, location and everything. But they change the script. The original was serious the remake was done with some tongue in cheek humor in it. As a result the remake was a bigger hit. And having seen both I recommend the remake more than the original.

  24. This is going to take some time and some thinking. I am a movie buff and have a lot of favorites. Quite a few could be considered classic.
  25. Just what might be some clearing up here. A question for Tomi, did the Evil Dead you watch have a scene when Ash catches his hand after he cuts it off under a garbage can, stacks books on top and the title of the last is " A Farewell to Arms"?
