  1. I can create a test character for you with gold. But he wont have any gear in the chest.
  2. It is a cm patch only quest. It starts on seraphim island near the librarian.
  3. The CM patch is available for UK PC. However you must also have ice and blood expansion. And patch to 2.65.1
  4. Is it possible to make this or any of the blood dryad NPC armors a wearable set in CM patch? My dryad really needs a set other than the tin can sets of Detheya's or leaves and twigs.
  5. I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts are with you.
  6. yeah he is Walther in the Xmas quest or Haenir in the northern something quest that you start from Artamark's Gate .
  7. Unfortunately there is more than one reason Sacred2 crashes. And the OS version and hardware of each of our PCs makes a difference. However I can list a couple of them, and what I think the cause is. 1. Network instability when playing online, as well as Server instability can cause a crash. I play LAN CM-Patch a lot. And I crash far more when playing MP on Closed or even LAN with my kids over our Wireless Net than I do playing solo. And since my system is way faster and more powerful than the kids, we get a lot less lag and crashes when I host the server vs them. 2. Memory leaks. Sacred has a flaw that allows the program to use too much ram. (not too much for your PC, Too much for its memory manager) When the memory usage of sacred2.exe exceeds 1.5 Gb it crashes. The more you play, the more map the system loads into memory, the more likely it will crash. As in belgarathmth's example of texture update points. I have found that running at low graphics setting doesn't eliminate the problem but does prolong the time until the crash happens. Such as moving the grass slider all the way left, turning off PhysX, Weather etc, I have also made entries into my optionsCustom.txt to use half the memory settings of the stock options file. This has caused loading time to slow, but drastically improved my play time. I have had nice looong sessions of a few hours without a crash on a regular basis 3. Having multiple windows open within the game. Such as E, F, C, all open and then hitting M. CRASH! try minimizing the number windows open at one time. 4. I have options in my video cards 3D set-up for prerendering frames. In theory you can determine how much your CPU renders in advance of the GPU. For my 3.4 Ghz Intel i5 750 with GTX260 graphics, I find it most stable with the max 8 frames selected. However my boys 6 year old Pentium D at 2.8 Ghz with an Identical GTX260 runs better with the setting low at 2 frames. As for the mss32.dll error Stormwing is having. the is a Miles Audio file that is par of the sound effect engine. I am not sure if that is really the source of the error or just the poor dude that was running a routine at the time of the crash. if you think it might be corrupt you can find it online for download. just google mss32.dll
  8. I should be there tonight, so I am thankful for the warning. Indeed that is the Troll looking boss named Walther or Haenir depending on CM or none CM.
  9. Not sure if the wiki has an official list, but... White Griffin Undead Prince - Swamp Furies - Xmas Isle The Harpy Queen - Desert That is a start, there is a couple more I think.
  10. Bring em on! show us what you got! lol DB how long did you have to search for that?
  11. And so weird that windows 7 wasn't giving me the feedback I needed to realize what my problem was. I am going to trash the set-up files I have and get some new ones downloaded and archived onto my back-up HD. Then maybe I can get back to Win7.
  12. Lol! We need more "Blonde riding a Tiger" photos to vote from. Just 1 submission in the "real life Seraphim on a tiger" contest just isn't enough to choose a winner! :rflmao: Cool find Chattius. Oh what the heck! Unless we get any other submissions I vote this one the best Seraphim on a Sabertooth in real life photo.
  13. After many failed attempts, I re-formatted again and installed XP 64 from a fresh disk. Of the 3 copies of sacred 2 install files I have spread across my home network, I found 1 that would install. The other 2 gave me errors on 1 of the speech.zip files. Then I had to use all the small patches to get to 2.40. As non of my 2.40 would extract without an error. None of these error were being reported on Win 7. So I guess there is some good points to XP. Finally! So I think I have a multiple files that got corrupted. So the good news is, I got Ice and Blood back up late last night. The bad news is I reverted 10 years in technology to Windows XP 64. I am gonna miss my Windows 7 64. XP 64 is fast and clean, but just doesn't look and feel like windows 7. I will tread lightly until I can get a new set of set-up files and patches. Then probably try to go back to Win 7. Maybe a nice shiny new 240 GB SSD will come for my birthday and spring board me back into a new OS install again.
  14. I wish it was as simple as a wrong file. They are the exact files I used to install on my kids PC 2 weeks ago. And 2 other installs last summer. it went flawless on a fresh install of XP. The only thing I can think of is that my install files have become corrupted. Unless both the 2.40 INT and 2.31 to 2.34 patches are corrupted. Either way I am at a loss. I tried downloading the install files again, but Nexway says my download privilege expired a year ago. I hate to go through another OS install for no good reason, but as long as I have nothing to lose I may try installing XP 64 and then try sacred again. Doesn't make sense since in installed on Win 7 just fine a year ago. BTW it was on the C: Drive. Although my previous install was on a separate drive from the OS, which was no problem at the time. I actually meant for instead of installing S2FA + Ice and Blood again. So it was on a clean install of windows? Thats kinda odd. Was it on the same drive as your os? Some people had issues patching when sacred was installed in a separate location. I actually did use the reset tool. It told me I was missing soundhq4.zip and blood1.particle (I think). That was what prompted my to try reinstalling Sacred2 to begin with.
  15. Thanks for all the replys. I will have to keep hunting for solution, I guess. Voluntarily taking a break from Sacred2 is different from having no choice, destiny or choice? I pick choice. The Windows 7 install was clean from a formated disk. the Sacred 2 install files are from Nexway, and the patches I just used 2 weeks ago on my kids XP comp. That is what's frustrating. the 2.31 to 2.40 patch gives the same error. so I don't think it is that. I have no problem with secure rom. the reset tool specifically says don't use it on a FA install only Ice and Blood, so I don't see that as a fix. I never had this problem on my previous installs. I will have to buy a new copy of Gold to get new install files. I didn't pay for the unlimited downloads option. So I made multi copies of the files. None of them work.
  16. OK I was having some trouble with some missing particle files, and a botched balance file. I decided that after a year and a half that it would not hurt to just re-install sacred for a fresh start. I uninstall-ed Sacred 2 and then reinstalled from 1 of the 2 downloaded Gold packages I have purchased. After the first install I attempted to run the 2.02 - 2.40 INT patch. it aborted on the file check. I have had this happen before so I started over and re-ran the install, then tried the patch again..fail. Well I have done a ton of stuff on this PC in a year including installing separate partitions with XP, XP 64, and of course my main OS Win7 64. So I decide to bite the bullet and wipe my PC clean. I just did my wifes laptop and the kids PC in the last month for performance issues , so what the heck. I have 2 X 500Gb drives so I copied everything I think I might want to keep to the second drive and do a fresh install onto a formated clean drive. did all the requisite updates, then decided it was time to sink or swim and install sacred 2 again. again the install finishes successful but the patch fails. I even activated the 2.02 before patch and still a fail. I can patch to 2.31 with the small patches, but 2.34 is the first to do a file check. failed I don't understand why after all these installs that it won't patch now, after a half dozen re- installs on this and other PCs. I have Antivirus off, UAC off. SecureRom went just fine. There has got to be something simple I am forgeting Help
  17. This sounds pretty definitive to me. Great work. This may have been known by others, but I am glad you took the time to prove it here. Thank you I will do a similar test tonight in Ice and Blood and see if I can get the same results.
  18. I went to the Grunwald dragon last night and put on a few pieces with open wounds and can say for sure that they do trigger (on the ps3 anyways). I was able to get the dragon bleeding with glacial thorns, ragging nimbus and blazing tempest. I imagine the other wounding effects would work also. Great to hear. Just to solidify your findings, make a couple runs with no modifiers, and then a couple with the open wounds equipped. Thorns have high physical damage = bleeding, and blazing has high fire = bleeding. I am just curious if the open wounds modifier was really what triggered the bleeding or if it was just the Combat Arts high damage. Once we know how it works on Console, I will do some comparison in Ice&Blood PC. Then some edits to the wiki will have data to back them up. cheers
  19. A closed net character will be considered by the game as a MP character. You can play it in SP for the SP-only quests, however the main campaign progress is not saved. You have run the Closed Character in a LAN Campaign for save progress and take advantage of the CM Patch. As DB said, when you export from closed it overwrites the Shared chest. I myself have been running in LAN with CM for about a month. I haven't abandoned Closed Net but the goodies in CM are just to good to pass on.
  20. I usually prefer poison or fire for my characters. Both do Bleeding over time DOT. Magic for the max 20% reduction in attributes works also.
  21. welcome to dark Matters parky73! thank you for the kind words. There is a whole bunch of good peeps here that are all responsible for this great site.
  22. I have 30% death blow on her, works quite nicely to finish off bosses. If you can get it up to about 67%. and the first hit gets the monsters health down to DB level (66%) you can finish it with the second hit. double damage is hard to beat with any of the modifiers we can choose from. too bad Ice and Blood Nerfed DB for spells.
